I grew up in the 50s from ages 1-8, and I can assure you the backwards kids are only in Coronet films.

Joey 's Mother's system worked so well that Joy went on to make many wonderful friends through school, and later college and workplace. 

However, the economy tanked and Joey lost his prestigious job. He was thus forced to take a commission-only job selling life insurance as well casualty insurance,property insurance and lesser derivatives.

Now no one wants to be his friend. Old or young. But Mother is still his friend. Tommy lives in her basement.
