A lifetime isn't very long. I am now older than Willie was when he got ahold of Trigger. In fact, Trigger and I were born the same year. It's a funny thing to look back & realized my being a fan for 30 years. I already look and feel as bad as Trigger looks. I even have a hole in my smile, & yet another tooth is fallin' out. If I could see one singer-songwriter, living or dead, before my old body gives out the rest of the way, Willie would be my man. I'd treasure being able to talk with Willie. The closest I ever got was in a dream. I rode the bus with Willie, his road family, + my dear departed Dad, as we went to pick up Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr, + Johnny Cash for a benefit concert. I can still hear him picking all those extra notes + hear my dad matching him lick for lick on his Hawaiian Guitar. In my dreams.
