Hello Jay. I just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I do a lot of computer and software repair/re-installation and I have a lot of residential customers that I have that always want an explanation as to how or why they got infected. Your video has helped me demonstrate what goes on behind the scenes. I've been sending them the link to this video for about 2 years now. Hopefully, you and I can reach more people to warn them about there surfing and downloading practices!
I made a fake virus on my computer, it acts as an error saying "Error 115: You have just been pwned. Would you like a hug?" and then Yes or No. I think its pretty funny and it doesn't do any damage. Its even funnier at school where there is no Task Manager because you cant turn it off!
@kclikesyt he shows how viruses are made, not for the sake of people learning how to tick you off, but so people better understand to prevent. btw if i'm not mistaken there isn't a virus out there that would kill ur os without some kind of participation from you. all viruses i've ever seen requires an unknowledged person to give the virus, posing as a harmless program, administrative rights to your system. crackers take advantage of ill-knowledge.

A famous hack was when a group went after a hole in apache2... on apache.org and they changed the logo of "powered by linux" to a microsoft one. They then proceeded to notify the apache crew instead of causing damage. They weren't ask to conduct a pentest, so they acted illigaly but notified the appropriate people so ended up being "good" . Makes sense?
@yaoxiukias theoretically yes. Just be aware that the script code I've posted on my blog contains errors (on purpose). You will have to fix it yourself before you'll be able to use it. So without effort on your own it is not gonna work.

@HostingSever I used to create those things for Information Assurance classes / demonstrations. This clearly doesn't teach people how to write viruses. It just demonstrates that power always brings responsibility with it. Once you have the knowledge it is up to you how to put it into practice.

Besides Common Sense 2010 edition, what do you recommend people use as protective services? For ex. I have Avast antivirus, MBYTES, Zone Alarm software firewall, and spybot. a way to delet the scan proces of a antivirus without stoping the full antivirus so the user thinks his antivirus is ok.and delet the notifcation that notfye the user that theanti scan is off and so on.
@TheChrisman126 LMFAO! I love doing shit to school computers.. First when I was in grade school I learned to change the passwords on the computers.. Next week all passwords were "Mrs Regina is a fat fuck" (Mrs Reginas the principal) then I started scripting and shit. I put a screamer as well as other viruses/malware/ect on a USB and dropped it into as many PCs in the library and Tech room as I could. The next day the whole Tech class was the computers screaming and dying. It was epic. Good days.
that's all legacy software...don't stick to these technologies.
WMI is better coz any WBEM-compliant devices can be controlled (even linux machines); it's the next best thing. It's only drawback is that it mostly requires admin account to get full access to its features.
you will have trouble running your VB60 exes on VISTA and later machines.
MY VB6 exe's run just fine on Vista machines. Im a professional software developer. Ive also been working with VBscript since around 1996. WMI service could be disabled, as it is done on many XP machines these days (Search for Eee PC Nlited).
@Rpz79 To Get Rid Of Shutdown (This may not work and i dont wish to try it but it should work), when you log on, as soon as you can go onto cmd (Start>Run>Cmd>Enter) then type: "shutdown -a" without quotes. Hope it works :)

Viruses need to self-replicate. This does not. In addition, it would be nigh on impossible for a VBScript to replicate itself with current security standards. You would be better off doing tutorials on WMI or something, rather than grabbing attention with "How to write a virus".

@TheChrisman126 LMFAO! I love doing shit to school computers.. First when I was in grade school I learned to change the passwords on the computers.. Next week all passwords were "Mrs Regina is a fat fuck" (Mrs Reginas the principal) then I started scripting and shit. I put a screamer as well as other viruses/malware/ect on a USB and dropped it into as many PCs in the library and Tech room as I could. The next day the whole Tech class was the computers screaming and dying. It was epic. Good days.

1st. i wud use the shutdown command instead of WMI as if the WMI service is disabled then it wont work. less chance of them removing cmd files.
2nd, i would use userinit reg entry as thats more powerful. have it do what you want then run the real userinit.exe. thats in winlogin part of reg.
lastly. i would use VB6 to make the exe, and add the files into that, when it is run it extracts the files and runs whatever. you have total control.
but i dont approve malicious code.

that's all legacy software...don't stick to these technologies.
WMI is better coz any WBEM-compliant devices can be controlled (even linux machines); it's the next best thing. It's only drawback is that it mostly requires admin account to get full access to its features.
you will have trouble running your VB60 exes on VISTA and later machines.

MY VB6 exe's run just fine on Vista machines. Im a professional software developer. Ive also been working with VBscript since around 1996. WMI service could be disabled, as it is done on many XP machines these days (Search for Eee PC Nlited).

@Rpz79 To Get Rid Of Shutdown (This may not work and i dont wish to try it but it should work), when you log on, as soon as you can go onto cmd (Start>Run>Cmd>Enter) then type: "shutdown -a" without quotes. Hope it works :)

Dude. This is simply NOT a virus. It is a reboot script at best.
Viruses need to self-replicate. This does not. In addition, it would be nigh on impossible for a VBScript to replicate itself with current security standards. You would be better off doing tutorials on WMI or something, rather than grabbing attention with "How to write a virus".

Correct - the Virus tag is in there just to grab attention - nothing else. And it's amazing how much more people (especially younger people) are interested in this rather than being interested in "normal" scripting videos...kind of sad.

Sigh.I looked for videos on learning VBScripting and this was about one of the only few videos that had any vbscripting tutorials.I didn't really pay attention to the name once I searched, which was a mistake.And yes, people actually spread their knowledge of viruses on youtube, just look around. The excuse for their video not to get banned is for them to say that the video is for educational purposes only.Think before you speak.

dude...netbus, cain and abel etc. are tools that you can download to mess around with somebodys system - anyone can do this, no skills are required. Neither is this hacking, nor is this a virus.
It's funny that always the people who know nothing about scripting themselves criticize me the most - but I would lie if I would say I don't enjoy discussing with them :P
Again, post a youtube link, showing an experienced hacker doing REAL hacking...

I gave you programs that no normal user could function, which probably would include you.For all I know you could have leached those files in your videos.I actually do more important coding instead of vbs such as c++ and batch file programming.I don't mind discussing this with you either it's just that I have a life and I prefer not to waste my time arguing with a person who knows he is losing.
