  • Awesome, man. You can hear what Al and Geddy are really doing, great stuff!!!!

  • Haha i can still hear the parts in my head!

  • @Broons2112Bane Well, that and you can actually hear the drums still a bit in the track XD

  • @Broons2112Bane

Me too- but in my head though, not yours

  • YYZ without drums = Bread without butter

  • @Epic41241 more like butter without bread if you ask me lol

  • @Corman15 ah i get it :)

  • @Epic41241 Paula Deen's heaven?

  • @Epic41241 sandwich without bread

  • I can't not hear the drums in my head!

  • This record has a very compressed sound. It sounds full and even as I'm sure the dynamics from Geddy's hard plucking was so dynamic and out of range at that time.

Listen to isolated early live Geddy playing to get what I'm talking about. He was digging hard on the strings, but seems to have developed a more back-and-forth style with his index finger on later Rush stuff and live playing. He probably mentions that somewhere as I think I read about it once upon a time.?..?? Great post!!!

  • @ebasss On the Rush In Rio video, Geddy talks about how his tendon is stretched in is middle finger. He demonstrates that there is a delay in the movement when he tries to move it. That may be the reason for the style change.

  • @TheCaskOf43 Cool, found it. Geddy makes it work with a new approach. Finish that post of Beneath, Between & Behind man. Dig you rock instrumentals you posted! Youtube search "Eli Cook Rosie" for a track with me on bass. It's blues/grunge rock and Eli has a low baritone voice. Some like it, some don't. Eli's a young guy doing old-school Hendrix style playing. I'm more into Morse, Vai, Satch, Lifeson, etc. like you seem to dig on. Rock On, -E

  • @TheCaskOf43 If you listen to Rosie, watch your speaker volume. First ~30 seconds are intentionally recorded low-fi. You might dig the middle section. It's raw single-coil strat tone, but kind of melodic/epic sounding with three guitar tracks after the Rage Against the Machine style riff. -E

  • u can hear the drums in the background, the drum track just been turned down

  • When this was released, the way Rush did it, there was always some bleeding through of the different tracks. They couldnt do anything about it.

  • u du ut butter, thun upluud!

  • hey where do you get these from??

cos i'd love to download these as an MP3

  • This is a great cut - I wonder if I put drums to this if they will take it down

  • You can hear the drums in the background a little.

  • @Trigger584 Yeah, there is.

  • @Trigger584 ...yeah, me too!

  • @Trigger584 you can hear the keyboards in the background a tad too

  • this is great! i can use this instead of the original song when im playing drums! thanks alot! :)
