you really need to read the books my friend. The reason goes way back, at the time of death of the prophet there was disagreements as who was to be the rightful caliphs and imams. At the battle of ashura the sunni caliphs ordered the deaths of the prophets favourite grandchildren, and their newborn babies and daughters to gain rulership of islam. we mourn their deaths every muharram and remember the murder of the prophets family. Its only for our love of the prophet
