  • lol he was like well i could give this to my wife for our anniversary...but clay is really expensive XD

  • It was a bit unnerving watching him smash the thing, but if you go to his website, you'll see that these shapes are very basic and inconsequential compared to his finished works...

  • Please tell me that you are 225 years old and that you started at the age of 5....

  • i like how it's so centered and even all around. the pot looked like it wasn't even moving.

  • The best part of pottery is showing off and then destroying the things people wish they could make like its nothing to you =D

  • was there alot of slip?

  • sigh. this video makes me happy.

i wish i had a pottery wheel. too bad they're crazy expensive...

  • nice.

  • Marvelous!

  • Amazing of you to demonstrate so many different kinds of techniques. I was trying to explain to my friend what throwing was, and this was perfect. I really wish I could afford a decent wheel. ><

  • he worked so hard and then he smashed it

  • It's great to meet at African American pottery. Sometimes I feel alone!!!! Now I know I am not lol.

  • How many rotation per minute did you use?

  • WHYYYYYY did he kill that poor poorrrr thinggg!! noo it wass soo pretty!

  • cool to show sooo many techniques in one video. I will be getting back here when I can afford a wheel and lessons again.

  • man pottery is like magic when you start off with a big clump of clay and end up with something so beautiful

  • This is so relaxing to watch. Almost as nice as watching the painter with the afro hair on pbs.

    Serendipity.

  • wow, now i have lots of respect for the fine work of potters after trying this for the first time in art class. it's hard to do!! i screwed up so much and was left with a soggy lump of clay ahah.

  • @justfornow14 You remind me of the kids in my sculpture class, first day of school they point and laugh because of my looks, 20 minutes into class and i had a line of people asking for my help lol

  • i really want a pottery wheel but i dont know where to order one from and i dont want a huge one i want one like this dude has can anyone help me out?

  • @SexiLaVilleValo ebay lol

  • go to AMCO Clay (google) or clay king they have high quality wheels that take very little space

  • when you crushed it at the end... it ruined my life a little lol

  • You're a good potter, probully a master, it takes 7 years to develop to a professional level or something like that. But you improve even more still atfer that. I was told you should hit your best at 50. I'am complete beginner at it but attend a pottery class. Centering and building the sides are tricky. i find that when i build the sides up they become uneven most of the time. but i'm getting better. some of the pots you have done are incredible, like the ones with faces! ace video!

  • Wow how do you do it you make it look so easy

  • I used a pottery wheel today after school classes and let me tell you its fun and when you feel it it is awesome!.

  • Jeremiah 18. Nice.

  • @assley95 not really

  • where can i buy a pottery wheel

  • it people like you that make my dishes

  • I just purchased a pottery wheel today, but have to hide it until Christmas. It is for the whole family - I think my 3 kids will be thrilled. Thank you for the demo - very very very inspiring. Eeek. Can't wait for Christmas!!!

  • beautiful demo.. i have a couple throwing video's too and i was wondering if you could give me any pointers? thanks :)

  • Amazing! this was clearly a demo - taking one piece of clay and making a bunch of classic "finished" shapes then transitioning to the next shape. bowls, urns , then back to bowl... etc. he could have stopped a bunch of times along the way. excellent demo!

  • HAha funny when he finishes i was like 'aww thats a cool thing he made, i wish i could do that' then he just smashes his hands through it xD

  • Wow :D I wanna try that, it seems so cool.

  • Cool demo-real smooth

  • at the end u killed the clay but everything else is fantastic mr dude u rock

  • can someone tell me where to get clay at a good cost?

  • go to your local clay company, the more you buty, the cheaper price you get.

  • Oh My Goodness As a newbie it kind of brothers me when you wreck your finshed piece. I enjoy watching your videos!!

  • precioso el trabajo, una maravilla, felicidades charles

  • I wish I was that skilled. I shall keep practicing =3

  • It is awesome to watch you at work. Your work is so beautiful. You Rock!

  • You're a beast.

  • amazing

    really amazing

    nice job!!!

  • it was perfect. i wish i had a pottery wheel....

  • what a great way to show people the versatility of clay!

  • Dont farking break as u go lol just get another clay

  • Is there is way we could convince you not to destroy the work as you go..You have a lot of talent

  • Fascinating. Creation and destruction. Just as he begins to pull the clay into a lovely shape destroys it.

  • I'm doing a 4 page research paper on Mr. Smith for school. ^_^

  • wow. I thought music was hard but this is more than just art and music. Its quite a skill...I wish I could learn to do that someday...;)

  • r u saying music is not a skill ? if you are , then you would be wrong

  • no of course I'm not. Music takes years to perfect as well as pottery and other forms of art. I can hardly even remember when I commented on this video anyway...

  • Great video! My eyes almost fell out of my head when you did what you did to your first bowl though! I couldn't believe you would do that to a bowl with that kind of a rim on it..lol! ....but then, it only got worse..lol! you kepttttttt doing it. Really cool video. Fantastic pots! I'm going to watch everything else you have now.

  • Holy CRAP!!! Gives a new meaning to "it's only clay!" Incredibly talented.

  • oh my gawd, i felt like crying when he just destroyed his beautiful work. 8(

  • XD

when he cut the bowl I was like NOOO!!!!!!!!

  • what a gift

  • the video is called "pottery Demonstration"

    DuH-h-h-h-h!

  • I love the feeling the smooth clay!

  • Awesome. Just unbelievable.

  • hey men how is the name of you machine ? where you buy it?

  • Poetry

  • haha, the ending makes me laugh

  • LOL at the ending! Oh, you are an evil man!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!

  • That last part made me want to cry. Overall, you have got magic, my friend!

  • Oh, the ending hurt!

  • I've watched this a few times and it never fails to take my breath away, fantastic throwing, brilliant skills.

  • Great demonstration. Thanks for that!

  • What insight this gives into your art! One of the most peaceful creative processes I've ever witnessed!

  • If There Were Seventeen Words To Describe How Good You Are, I Would Eat 16 And Leave "The Best"

  • very good

  • Intriguing. You must have had fun planning that.

  • WOW YOU ARE SO GOOD AT THROWING!

  • It was painful to watch you destroy shapes I'd love to be able to make. Beautiful, magical. Loved the watching. Just WISH I could throw!

  • That was great. I love how you kept taking off the top and coming up with new forms. I thought the finished product was terrific and then you surprised us! Your video makes me want to get out the biggest piece of clay I can handle and see how much I can do with it without worrying so much about the end result. Thanks!

  • Amazing im trying to use a wheel. . . VERRRRYYYYY hard

  • Oh! How marvelous! Each form created was so perfect and yet lead on and on to others. It was mesmerizing and beautiful. You are so gifted.
