I just want to know what kind of shoes and do you use borium or drill tech on them? PS I have a gaited horse, a KMSH, and we do this stufff all the time in southern ohio....scares my husband to death, but Jack and I are a real team....Susan
Too much playing to the camera and no acknowledgement to the horses. And what is with the bravado hollerin' after a jump... the horse did the dangerous stuff.
um yea the horses look short, but they're stocky. all you little hurdle jumpers need to realize there are more than one kind of horse. they're not you bony looking racers and jumpers. these ones are built for this kind of stuff. these are trained and conditioned horses and this is what wild ones do by themselves anyways. they know how to swim and do just fine with the rider. and the riders swim too, they just hang onto the horn to make sure they dont lose the horse.
i get out of my indoor arena just fine. i jump outside, we go on trail rides, and chase deer. we don't swim with our horses though. we race them on the dirt roads. but i wouldn't do this with my pony , he is too fragile. if he was built tougher , maby
but have you ever watched those steeplechasing and eventing and show jumping? some of those jumps are high and those horses well some are built more like throughbreds.
I personally would not ask my horse/mule to do that if in fact I had one. of course I don't like fast roller coasters either, while some like adrenalin I hate it, it freaks me out instead of invigorating me. besides there are other ways to get that rush besides riding horses, try rock climbing sky diving or something.
I think this is awesome, you really have a bond with your horses and or mules, they trust you, you trust them. Screw all you idiots saying your hurting the animal, how the hell do you think horses and people got around in the old days, oh thats right, ALL YOU PANSIES WONT COME OUT OF YOUR INDOOR ARENA!
Wow, are you TRYING to drown that poor horse at 6minutes? Don't you know you're supposed to get off their backs and swim beside them so you don't drown them!? Honestly. I can't believe that horse willingly jumped into water over it's head. It won't be doing that again! Once you break their trust, that's it.
you aren't really special, eventers do this everyday, except they have a jump form conducive for the horses survival. you are horrible riders save by strong horses and saddles with horns that keep you from flying over your horses necks. btw way next time you force your horse to jump into water over their heads, odds are you and your horse are going to drown. if your horse gets off balance sliding down a rockface they are going to break their legs and you are going to break your neck.
This is disgusting. These men are pigs, you have no idea what strain this puts on these horses. Not to mention they are all small horses with LARGE men riding them. Horses were not designed to jump well, and landing from high heights on two spindly front legs is a disaster waiting to happen. This makes me sick, especially when he jumps the horse into the water that is disgusting. To some this may look "cool" but in reality this is CRUEL.
Oh, wait, there was ONE good scene. The putz jumping the tiny mule at the end? I'll bet that landing took at least that guy out of the reproductive gene pool! Darwin at work!
Fantastic?? Cool? Fun? Exactly how fun is it for these poor willing creatures to pack your fat butts around? Perhaps you would like to try to swim with some fool on your back trying to drag you under. And when you kill or injure your horses, no big deal. You'll just dump the survivors at the slaughter auction and pick up a few more. The moron who was trying to drown his horse was too busy cheering like a buffoon to even check that his horse was okay. Disgusting lack of sense and humanity.
STUPID COWBOYS SAVED ONCE AGAIN BY GOOD HORSES. They don't deserve such trusting horses. How many times are they going to drop down onto rocks? Nice way to lame up a horse for life. Then jump off a rock into water and almost drown the horse as it tries to swim away. Hopefully one day these horses will dump you over their heads onto a rock hidden in water.
I want that Buckskin horse, to put that much trust in his rider. But im really not sure about the diving, the poor horse really looked like he was struggling!
Awesome! Now that's real cross country! As long as you are patient with the horses and don't let/ make them drop from high hieghts, I don't see a problem with it!
Wow you guys are really crazy but it looks so much fun. I always worry about my horse getting scrapped up on the sandstone. Do your horses have shoes? where are ya'll from?

i'm pretty sure these are probably the best cared for horses because of what they do.
these cowboys know what they're doing. they didnt just go jump over a twig and say, "alright, i think we're ready for Utahs fine scenary. lets go."
this is amazing what you guys do and i wish i could just spend my summer doing stuff like this. keep it up, and keep the videos coming!!
