Laughter, thanks for the honest comment! I decided years ago that I never wanted lyrics in a song just for rhymes, when I wouldn't sing/say them IRL - I would never say bro save in satire. But yes, that certainly would have worked. I enjoyed the rhyme of 'cocoa' and 'snow;' 'twas good enough for me.
I appreciate the patriotism of an Australian Christmas - but alas I do not live there, and I adore the other concepts of the song! I understand your frustration. Thanks for the comment, though!
Definitely 5 stars!!! I love your voice in this--so sweet! I so agree with so much of this! I'm a Unitarian Universalist too! Mostly I just pick and choose whatever feels right for me...which changes almost all the time. :-D Anyway, I'd never heard this song before, and I LOVE it!
Blushes and smiles! Thank you! YAY for finding fellow UUs! I absolutely love that! Your comment made my day, I just wasn't able to respond then! Thank you for this comment - finding UUs makes me unbelievably happy! And I feel the same about my beliefs. :) And yes, Tim Minchin is brilliant with his lyrics! Even when he's being a bit...inappropriate. :P Thanks again!
I'm so glad you listened to Tim Minchin's White Wine in the Sun! It's originally a patriotic Christmas song for Australia/summer-Christmas-locations, but alas, I am from the snowier part of the globe for Christmas! And quite proud of that in turn. I love snow!
So glad you loved it! Tim Minchin can certainly be quite raunchy with his songs, but he makes keen political points and does capture a glorious measure of wit in everything he does! Clever man, Tim Minchin. :D
Eeeei! Thank you for the adoration! It makes me feel warm & sparkly inside, and I return the adoration fully! Blushes at the voice comment! Tim Minchin deserves the credit for most of the lyrics, and certainly all the amazing bits. :P Cherry Mistmas!
Hi Kiwi, excellent job! I don't think you should stress about your voice at all! Just relax and go with it, easier said than done I know :-D You are adorable, always love your videos :-) I love that term stardust sister. There's a few people I know that when I met them I felt like I already knew them, and on the same planet as me, doesn't happen often though, obviously :-D Hugs X
Smiles, thank you. Certainly easier said than done. It has never been my way to not stress about my voice - I didn't even let people hear it at all until a few years ago.
Thank you! I'm glad you like the term. Mmm, my stardust sister is my podling sister too. Our mothers are great friends and used to bump 'pods' when they were pregnant. My stardust sister was born a month after me. So in that way, it has been long in coming! We reconnected a while ago.
Well that was terrible. Anyway you could have easily changed the order around in the chorus so say dad, my mother, sister, gran and my bro.
That way it would rhyme with snow.
Anyway,
The beauty of that song is the patriotism in the clear emphasis on the australian christmas. so changing it is just a little bit fucking stupid.
