lets look at my 2 favorite goalies, then roy. Marty B and Dom hasek. marty has 1,006 GP and 561 wins. Dom has 735 GP and 389 wins. roy has 1,029 Gp and 551. Marty's win% is 55.7, dom is 52.6, and roy is 53.5, all have good numbers. i think dom is highly underrated considering the fact that he played far less games than the others. he only played 12 full seasons and 5 seasons of 60+ games played, roy had 10. dom played in 45+ 8 times, roy had 16. i think they are all great but dom is my fav.
dom had a save percentage of .920 or higher 8 of 12 seasons,marty had 3 .920+ out of 16,roy had 3 .920+ of 18 seasons. hasek is all time save%leader. i like marty but he isn't very fun to watch, i never cared for roy but i saw him on tv a lot, but dom was amazing. the saves that guy made were ridiculous. his style was horrid but he stopped the puck. he was always on teams that couldn't score until he got to detroit. they all had great teams at one point. all are great but i don't like roy

Brodeur has so many wins and shutouts, incidentally, stats that predominantly go along with playing for a great team. Not to mention Marty's playing in the post tie era. Where are Marty's 3 Playoff MVP's? nuff said

As for breaking more records, isn't it obvious? Which goalie has been the beneficiary of playing on a much better team, a team which has implemented the defensive "trap" for the better part of a decade now? The same goaltender who has also been the beneficiary of the modern era where tie's no longer exist.
Rookie of the year? Please, Andrew Raycroft has one of those.

I removed my comment due to a couple of stupid grammatical errors. I reposted it, but i see it didn't show, not sure why. Anyways, i addressed the fact Roy faced nearly 40 shots a game with the Canadiens, Brodeur faces nearly half of that nowadays. Winning the cup and a playoff MVP on a team that had no business contending

But keep making up excuses for Brodeur having more records and awards. Brodeur would still have more wins if this was still the tie era. And he sure as well would have had the same amount of shut-outs. But hey if you want to pretend it that being a "no-tie era" Brodeur would not be beating Roy in wins and shut-outs, go right ahead.

In my opinion, neither Roy or Brodeur is better then the other. They each have their qualities and they are both fantastic goaltenders. Although I favor Roy as my favorite goalie, Brodeur is my second favorite.

Roy has the most wins and more cups. 3 MVPs Roy retired when he was 37 and played in a different era than broduer with better players in the league in there prime, and he didn't have second chance for a win either like Broduer has with the shootout, so I would get your head out your ass before making stupid comments.

ok well i guess u cant read since i posted that if your basing it on playoffs then yes, roy has the edge but if you go by regular season and playoffs then brodeur gets it. Brodeur has most wins, will have most shutouts, most consecutive 30 and 40 win seasons, tied for most playoff shutouts, has the most shutouts in a playoff series and he has won 4 vezina trophies.

belfour may have more wins but sawchuk has more cups, plus sawchuk played at a time where there were no other elite goalies, he was the first one. and you mention the amount of games roy has played again, and ill repeat. roy has the record for most games played, so dont use that as an excuse

Broduer regular season winning percertage per games played is .007 % better than Roys per game when he broke his win record, and to mention Roy didnot play in the shootout era. If he had he would of racked more wins and had a better winning percentage than Broduer because he would of retired with 30 -40 more wins which would of wiped out the .007%, and you want to add Roy's playoff accomplishments on top of all that, well that leaves Broduer not 2nd but 4th or 5th all time. 2Sawchuke 3Plante

lets look at my 2 favorite goalies, then roy. Marty B and Dom hasek. marty has 1,006 GP and 561 wins. Dom has 735 GP and 389 wins. roy has 1,029 Gp and 551. Marty's win% is 55.7, dom is 52.6, and roy is 53.5, all have good numbers. i think dom is highly underrated considering the fact that he played far less games than the others. he only played 12 full seasons and 5 seasons of 60+ games played, roy had 10. dom played in 45+ 8 times, roy had 16. i think they are all great but dom is my fav.

dom had a save percentage of .920 or higher 8 of 12 seasons,marty had 3 .920+ out of 16,roy had 3 .920+ of 18 seasons. hasek is all time save%leader. i like marty but he isn't very fun to watch, i never cared for roy but i saw him on tv a lot, but dom was amazing. the saves that guy made were ridiculous. his style was horrid but he stopped the puck. he was always on teams that couldn't score until he got to detroit. they all had great teams at one point. all are great but i don't like roy
