  • living just outside of vancouver, i use this one all the time against canucks fans.

  • nowadays that'd be a penalty shot and two game suspension

  • Rip headset user!

  • wheres the penalty?

  • Roy said he would have stopped Roenick on the penalty shot, anyway.

Roenick said he found that funny, because he had scored on a breakaway in Game 3 – when, he claimed, Roy's jock had ended up in the rafters.

    then roy replied that? haha

i cant even believe there was no call on that!!!

  • @andersoncouncilpf I wonder how many people plugs their ears with Stanley cup ri so finally who gotta retarded comment ?

  • @bounaziad you.... yeah you tried to be funny, but u failed, u suck

  • ZING!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad Not really.

  • Uh, yeah, a person always plugs their ears with rings. What a retarded comment, even though the point is obvious.

  • @andersoncouncilpf It's called a figure of speech there Einstien.

  • @andersoncouncilpf I think you have the dumb.

  • On l'aime notre Patrick!!

  • MARTYS BETTER!!!

  • @harryknucles maybe in a video game

  • my. name. is patrick.. and i. am. a. retard..

  • @dylanweltz too bad hes in the hhof and u are a douch

  • @PatrickRoy30 Did not patrick roy have number 33 ???

  • @sveaplutoner yes but PatrickRoy33 was taken and 30 was Dan Bouchards Number and Dan Bouchard was the one that Patrick looked up to as a kid

  • You have to be kidding me, Roy is a total douchebag

  • hahaaa nice!

  • What a cocky shit. Sure he was a good goalie, but winking at the camera. Come on, this guy is the most cocky prick to play the game.

  • @redber16 Roy is up there, but I don't think he was quite as as cocky Lindros.

  • @redber16 What about PK Subban?

  • @nyr9teen9d4 & dodgers162003

Considering that English is a second language for him being French Canadian, he did pretty well so cut him some slack!

  • Roy: 4 cups (mtl '86 &'93, col '96 and '01),

    3 Conn Smythe

    Roenick: JACK SHIT

  • @raran44 Eric Lindos: Waaaah I don't want to play for Quebec.

Result: Trade him away for Forsberg.

Forsberg: 96 and 01. Humble player.

Lindros: Cocky lil shit, no cups.

God what a great deal that was...except for the Quebec fans that had to deal with the team leaving for Denver.

  • OWNED!!!!!

  • Not very clever at all...Should have been, "I can't hear JR, my Cup rings keep talking over him."

  • love the joke, he coulda delivered it better

  • What did Roenick say about Roy?

  • @AnonymKut it should've been a penalty shot, and the ref didn't call it, so after the game roenick said something about that he would've scored for sure if they gave him the penalty shot, and patrick roy's jock strap would've ended up in the rafters. something along those lines. but what's funnier than this clip is the look on roenicks face when he realized he wasn't getting a penalty shot

  • @cokeworthy Ok :)

  • @AnonymKut Roy said he would have stopped Roenick on the penalty shot, anyway.

Roenick said he found that funny, because he had scored on a breakaway in Game 3 – when, he claimed, Roy's jock had ended up in the rafters.

  • @nfltank55 haha

  • There'll never be another like him. *sniff* Love you Roy!

  • WHAT A CLASSIC! gota love roy-boy

  • hmmm, interesting they didnt show roenick scoring a breakaway on roy

  • @Brucesox Interesting that Roenick was never able to beat him in a playoff series, and never ever won a Cup in his career. Roenick aint shit...never will be.

  • I like roenick but bitch you just got owned

  • After listening to his english it's hard to tell if they're laughing with him or at him.

  • @hornetsnest001 At least u know that a french canadian know how to speak both languages ( french and english ) ... and you dont . we call that ...a good and intelligent brain ( props to french )

  • Best ever goalie in the NHL hands down. Legend.

  • Why is he wearing his Stanley Cup rings in his ears? Everyone likes a good comeback, but this makes no fucking sense.

  • @Papavondov that's how they do it in Quebec

  • @Papavondov Are you serious? Or borderline retarderd? He's obviously referencing the fact that he has 2 stanley cup rings while roenick has none.

  • he IS an asshole, and thats why we love him lol

  • message send!! :-D

  • 7 people had stanley cup rings clogging their ears and could'nt hear what he said

  • awesome

  • Oh my god ya'll, do your reasearch, JR and Roy were real close friend off the ice, they always dog on each other.

  • Sad to find out the Roy family from Dad on down are supreme assholes. All that you hate about youth and amateur sports---they represent.

  • right I am wrong the red wings are terrible they've just smoked Roy every time they've played him and more than doubled the Avalanche's cup total...

  • @Biebz9 good job, you doubled the cup total of the avalache, who have been in the league for how many years? lol. patrick is deffinitly one of the best goalies, if not, the best. and the avalanche is just have of roy's career.

  • hahah what a badass! i loved it-a wings fan

  • @Biebz9 Nope dead wrong.

  • @Biebz9

    typical childish fanboy

  • lmfao tnx for the years st. Patty

  • Patty is the man!!

  • Plaggin My yerr! hahaha

  • its all about martin brodeur !!!

  • haha Roy had a classic chirp as a response to Roenick who always had a classic chirp for Roy.

  • Dick breath. Thats really original. Did you come up with that one in elementary school?

  • that is the greatest comeback of all time

  • @KillaRock881 33 likes

  • Classic Roy! LMFAO!

  • My favourite Roy moment was when he did the STATUE of liberty only to drop it and then eventually lose the series after letting in about 7 goals in Game 7 to the WIngs.

  • I really don't like Roy at all. I respect him as a goalie. Definitely one of the best. Just don't care for him much as a person.

That said, this is one of the best lines EVER!

  • that was the worst compilation of laughs that i've ever heard

  • hhahaahahah

  • MAYBE te best burn or reply in sports

  • Funny, but Roenick was still a far better player.

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi lol that's a joke rite?

  • @meelodmmm

Well, OK, maybe that's comparing apples to oranges... I was a fan of Roenick, esp. while he was in Chicago. Anyway, I know Roy's creds, but they both had some spotty periods.

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi Roenick better than Roy? Roy was named one of the top 50 hockey players of all time in 1997 by the hockey news, Roenick was nowhere to be found on the list, not that Roenick wasn't a good player but Roy is probably one of the top 4-5 goalies of all time, Roenick MIGHT be one of the 50 best forwards of all-time.

  • @gymguy25 I already explained myself below dick breath.

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi your out of your mind

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi Were you chirping Patrick Roy? I'm sorry but i couldn't hear you over the clang of Patricks 4 stanley cups.

  • @raran44 Original.....

  • Classic

  • Love that quote too...He got those ''EAR PLUGS'' 2 first stanley cups rings while he was playing in Montreal (he was and still probaly is a true great leader on ice & lockeroom. evenin his headcoaching junior Ramparts in QUEBEC CITY) .. lot of leggends in mtl can a put ring on fingers of their both hands... that something that make you say,,,Mmmm no one yet with that kind of charisma has passed by Montreal... We are WAY overdue lol to all here... have a good 2010-11 season

  • Classic line. Solid delivery. What a gem.

  • roy is a LEGEND.

  • Ahaha, what a line.

  • Stfu you pussys!!!!!! Roy is GOD and just face the fact OK his EGO is what made him great so fuck you looser and fuck canada as welll.

  • He refused to play for his country unless he was guaranteed to start. There's lots more bad things to say about him but I think that sums him up best.

  • what a fucken retard roy is,ill tell you he is a quitter just ask the people of canada

  • @cuff1957 And you call him a quitter because he left a team like people do with every major organization in every sport all the damn time?

  • Roy could kick my ass in a fight.

  • @Mrgyn Except Roy was too busy kicking his wife's ass in a fight. - Just to show what a tough guy he is....

  • @MetalDetroit

Only real men beat their wives.

  • What did roenick say?

  • @bean1336 When Roy was first asked about the play, he said he could've stopped Roenick. Roenick replied with "I like Pat's quote there, I just wonder where he was in Game 3, probably getting his jock out of the rafters in the United Center" Being that Roy got lit up. Roy comes back with this

  • the best

  • epic line from the best goalie in nhl history

  • @MrKhoff39 Vernon's a chump, Roy is a god, go back to your bush league team ahahahah

  • @PayneToTheMax isnt it funny the same year vernon beat roys ass he punked him int he playoffs on the way to the stanley cup AND conn smythe? and then next year, when little ol osgood pinned that piece of shit against eh boards, he comes back and wins a cup to? and then in 2002 when the wings dominated roy in a 7-0 loss, i mean, that really doesnt have to do with vernon, but i always like brining up how detroit dominated you pussies, and again, that year, another cup :) if your COUNTING.

  • im a sharks fan and roenick was on the sharks but that was the best line ever

  • @z34gtp9395

    an excelent burn my friend.

  • Oh Patty Roy...classic.

  • I didnt hear what you said cause i have 2 stanley cup rings stuck in my ass

  • God I love Patrick

  • I'm not sure how I'm senistive. As far as I'm concerened I've got a damn valid point.

    learn how to spell

  • @ReverenG

i hope the "learn how to spell" part was a joke right?

cos you managed two spell two words completely wrong aswell

  • @rantanen1

Lol, and apparently your feable high school mind doesn't know the differences between to, too, and two...

  • @tbwj21

    hahahaha god i failed horribly

im a bit dyslexic, i was thinking about how he spelled two words wrong and i managed to turn "to" into "two"...

    I fail.

  • Gretzky was a rookie in the NHL, stop counting that WHA bullshit.

If you're going to say he wasn't a rookie, then we need to count his stats from the WHA. It's gotta be one or the other all the way.... rookie or not?

  • "i can't really hear what Roenick is saying because i have been beating my wife all week"

    feel free to laugh

  • noob1

  • So would Roy, but he has 3 conn Smythe's plugged in his ear's.

hfboards -> Alltime draft = your answer to why roy goes down 1-3 on the alltime goalies list, and why brodeur goes down 6-7.

  • Brodeur has so many wins and shutouts, incidentally, stats that predominantly go along with playing for a great team. Not to mention Marty's playing in the post tie era. Where are Marty's 3 Playoff MVP's? nuff said

    1. Roy/Plante/Hasek

    4. Dryden

    5. Hall

    6. Brodeur

    7. Sawchuk

  • Show-boating and demanding a trade are signs of poor character, not poor goaltending.

As for breaking more records, isn't it obvious? Which goalie has been the beneficiary of playing on a much better team, a team which has implemented the defensive "trap" for the better part of a decade now? The same goaltender who has also been the beneficiary of the modern era where tie's no longer exist.

Rookie of the year? Please, Andrew Raycroft has one of those.

  • Hey you are just in denial. Brodeur obviously has a more impressive list of accomplishments. You can't argue that I just showed you.

It takes a team to win a cup. Not one guy. If you play hockey you should know that.

Keep making your excuses for Roy.

Roy had a chance with team Canada to win a Gold Medal. How did he do?

And why did you remove your last comment? Hmmm...

    Keep pretending.

  • lmao, im in denial? Yet you didn't address any of the points i made, rather just threw some more irrelevant remarks at me. Im not making excuses for Roy, im stating facts.

I removed my comment due to a couple of stupid grammatical errors. I reposted it, but i see it didn't show, not sure why. Anyways, i addressed the fact Roy faced nearly 40 shots a game with the Canadiens, Brodeur faces nearly half of that nowadays. Winning the cup and a playoff MVP on a team that had no business contending

  • Comment removed

  • Just because his team was good doesn't mean he wasn't very good, just isn't logical. Maybe he was a major reason they were good?

Irrelevant remarks? We are talking about who is better, and I said that both goalies played for team Canada and only one won a gold medal. How is that irrelevant?

Anyone who has played or knows anything about hockey will tell you that it takes a team to win. It's true with any sport. This is why I can't take you serious.

    Have you ever played hockey?

  • Yeah Raycroft has a rookie of the year award but Roy sure doesn't.

But keep making up excuses for Brodeur having more records and awards. Brodeur would still have more wins if this was still the tie era. And he sure as well would have had the same amount of shut-outs. But hey if you want to pretend it that being a "no-tie era" Brodeur would not be beating Roy in wins and shut-outs, go right ahead.

I'd like to hear more excuses.

  • In my opinion, neither Roy or Brodeur is better then the other. They each have their qualities and they are both fantastic goaltenders. Although I favor Roy as my favorite goalie, Brodeur is my second favorite.

  • @hoboholic

Very true. They each have their own accomplishments that the other will never get.

  • ha andrew raycroft!!!!

even gretzky never won the calder trophy

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody who watched the 1993 playoff performance by Patrick Roy can not convince me that that was not the greatest goaltending performance ever. I would say Hasek in Buffalo in 99 was 2nd

  • Curtis Joseph in STL was sick as hell, Hextall in Philly was intense

  • haha nice comment 2 stanley cup rings plugging his ears

  • When it comes down to it who won the big game when the played against each other?

  • THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL

  • Fucking funny!

    Crissement drole!!

  • hahaha. that's classic. i love me some 33.

  • Roy is the greatest ever. He is better than all your fav goalies you guys all have playing for your favorite team, You all need to accept that and live with it.

  • nope

brodeur is the greatest of all time, roy will always be #2

  • based on what regular season wins.... wow what a accomplishment I play every game whoa... don't let your emotions cloud up the truth, Roy will always be the greatest even your buddy Broduer admit that.

  • wtf are u talking about? roy holds the record for most games and minutes played buddy. if your basing your decision on roy's playoff career then yes roy is slightly better since he has better playoff stats but all around, brodeur is #1

  • Well what are you basing it on??Thats a stupid statement to make. I basing it on what every player in any sport is ultimatly judged by and it is the championships/ playoffs. Roy has the most wins and more cups. 3 MVPs Roy retired when he was 37 and played in a different era than broduer with better players in the league in there prime, and he didn't have second chance for a win either like Broduer has with the shootout, so I would get your head out your ass before making stupid comments.

  • ok well i guess u cant read since i posted that if your basing it on playoffs then yes, roy has the edge but if you go by regular season and playoffs then brodeur gets it. Brodeur has most wins, will have most shutouts, most consecutive 30 and 40 win seasons, tied for most playoff shutouts, has the most shutouts in a playoff series and he has won 4 vezina trophies.

  • so pretty much all your saying is Brodeur has more reg season wins and more shutouts than Roy, so that makes him better than Roy. You have no argument, it so lame. Based on what your saying Ed Belfour has more wins than Terry Sawchuke, so that makes him better right Like I said before don't let your emotions cloud up the truth. Oh by the way Roy never played a 70 game season in his career. Brodeur averages 75 games a season, and than chokes when it counts in the playoffs like last season.

  • belfour may have more wins but sawchuk has more cups, plus sawchuk played at a time where there were no other elite goalies, he was the first one. and you mention the amount of games roy has played again, and ill repeat. roy has the record for most games played, so dont use that as an excuse

  • Broduer regular season winning percertage per games played is .007 % better than Roys per game when he broke his win record, and to mention Roy didnot play in the shootout era. If he had he would of racked more wins and had a better winning percentage than Broduer because he would of retired with 30 -40 more wins which would of wiped out the .007%, and you want to add Roy's playoff accomplishments on top of all that, well that leaves Broduer not 2nd but 4th or 5th all time. 2Sawchuke 3Plante

  • you do realize that if brodeur didnt have the shootout he still would have won more games than roy. and lol at brodeur at 4th or 5th, he is #1 and he still hasnt finished his career. #2 roy, #3 sawchuk

  • I know there is nothing I can say to change your mind, so enjoy watching Broduer play

  • oh you bet i will, ill never pass up a chance to watch the greatest goalie of all time play

  • patrick roy isnt a baby, he'd drop the gloves if he HAD to, but even then, hed be to busy making saves,

NOW, that hes retired, its all done

  • hahaha, best comment, ever

    take this Roenick

  • who cares what you are sayin'?

for real, i'm a red wings fan, but you have to admit Roy was a damn good goalie. even he fought Hasek and Ozzy. he won 4 stanley cups.. how many did you?

so shut up bitch, show some respect like a grown ass man

  • what the hell did you just say? i couldn't understand any of it. i don't like him, get over it. i'm entitled to say whatever the fuck i want to say and theres nothing you can do about it. if you like him so much then go suck his dick you jackass.

  • you're funny dude, for real.

    poor guy

  • well when you talk to me like that you don't think i'm going to be an ass back? seriously grow up.

  • you shut your mouth faggot you obviously know nothing about hockey. patrick roy was one of the best goalies to ever play the game and definitely the most exciting

  • No, you shut your mouth you little baby. wahwah, someone doesn't like patrick roy. get over it. haha i don't know what is more interesting... the fact that you like patrick roy so much or that you don't like the fact that i think he is an arrogant asshole. yes he was good but have you ever heard the all time wins leader (marty brodeur) talk like a jackass? most exciting.. yes like the time he tried to show off with the statue and threw the puck int the net against detroit in the playoffs!

  • lets look at my 2 favorite goalies, then roy. Marty B and Dom hasek. marty has 1,006 GP and 561 wins. Dom has 735 GP and 389 wins. roy has 1,029 Gp and 551. Marty's win% is 55.7, dom is 52.6, and roy is 53.5, all have good numbers. i think dom is highly underrated considering the fact that he played far less games than the others. he only played 12 full seasons and 5 seasons of 60+ games played, roy had 10. dom played in 45+ 8 times, roy had 16. i think they are all great but dom is my fav.

  • dom had a save percentage of .920 or higher 8 of 12 seasons, marty had 3 .920+ out of 16,roy had 3 .920+ of 18 seasons. hasek is all time save%leader. i like marty but he isn't very fun to watch, i never cared for roy but i saw him on tv a lot, but dom was amazing. the saves that guy made were ridiculous. his style was horrid but he stopped the puck. he was always on teams that couldn't score until he got to detroit. they all had great teams at one point. all are great but i don't like roy

  • of course you like dom better since you're just a detroit cheerleader.

go paint your face and shake those poms poms instead of commenting, no one cares about your childishly biased opinion.

  • umm.... he played for detroit for like what 3 seasons or didn't you know that? what makes my opinion childly biased? because it doesn't agree with yours? and for that matter why is his name pronounced wah, does he think he is fucking special or something. derek roy's name is pronounced roy. Wah is special just like his fan's, they all took separate classes in school and couldn't play with the normal kids. he's a douchebag and i'm not talking about you, so take a deep fucking breath nancy.

  • according to your theory i should think cujo, osgood, vernon, and manny legacy are better than roy right? haha are you serious, the second someone says they don't like roy they are a red wings cheerleader. trust me dude, i love the wings but i am no cheerleader. i just see the nhl for what it's worth. i appreciate people like joe thorton, jerome iginla, kovalev, st' louis, marc recchi, jagr, federov, yzerman, and anyone who has respect for the game unlike that piece of shit roy.

  • Comment removed

  • and when did i say he wasn't top 5? i said he was a great goalie in my following statements. i think he is one of the best yes, i also think he is an arrogant asshole and i can't stand him. yes he may be "great" and don't use that as an excuse for him to be a dick either because when was the last time you say dom, marty, or cujo act like a total ass hole over one play. yea he made the save, isn't that enough or does he have to try to get the last word or be a hard ass everytime?

  • you better watch it. people flip out around here if you talk badly about the master of goonery. yes, he was good, but he was also a jackass. and there is no denying that.

  • best comeback ever

  • he's so full of shit

  • lol canadian hockey players always getting the best of american players.

  • LMAOOOOOOOO. Awesome.

  • i hate roy, but fuck what a great comment!

  • same here

  • i was actually pissed at the Sharks for loosing in the playoffs....that last game against Anaheim was the worst game the Sharks ever played....i thought the whole point of the playoffs was to actually try............Roenick knew he would retire, after the last game im sure he was ready to strangle Thornton or Nabby.........

  • No one ever plays Roenicks response though! The Avs won the Cup the year this quoate happened and the next year when Roy faced Roenick again Roenick said " Well I guess you know where Patrick can shove his third Stanley Cup ring."

  • tht;s the best quote tht an athlete has ever said

  • NO HE DINNIT!
