I kinda liked the original concept of what they had going for this game better. The PMCs having M4 instead of Mk.17s would've been more realistic, the Octocamo made hiding in the game too easy, and on top of that, I would've been cool with Otacon working the Mk.II and supporting Snake from some hidden office instead of the Nomad plain. But hey, when you make a draft of something, you gotta make some edits I guess...

If Metal Gear Solid 4 would have come to PC, it would have had this level of graphics. This was on par with Crysis, if not better.

I use to have a PS3, and MGS4 came with mine, and while I loved it, I still prefer MGS3.

the M4 here was better the xm320 just doesn't look right on the M4 the m203 and the eo tech sight should have been left in the game

I wonder if Kojima meant for the war economy of MGS4 to be an allegory of the state of video games today: overrun with shallow FPS titles that are only about fighting, not about why your character is fighting or any story as to why it's the right thing for your character to fight.

The final game did not live upto to the feeling and atomsphere this trailer created.

The animations of the soldiers were too wooden and artificial, even in MGS2 they moved better and they had foreign accents too. In final game the "arabs" in this game spoke english with american accents! come on hideo your all about detail. I also prefered this Snake model and Raiden in the Raiden return trailer...

The thing I never got about this trailer: was this CG or was it actual in-game graphics? I thought the TGS 2006 looked worse than this.

@Sup750 Its in engine ("ingame"), but it was rendered on the older PS3 developer kit (machine similar to final product, giving ability to develop games before the final product kicks in and even after that), which was not finished that time and it was actually powerful, than the final PS3 (i think, that Hideo Kojima mentioned, that the amount of RAM was double = 512MB). But the XDR memory is/was pretty expensive. So the more final 2006 version looks worse with lower fps and resolution.. pity.

@JacksInn I rememered this on, I was really hyped aboud PS3 back then.... before things get wrong, I found in my old backup. Its hard to find HD trailers from 2005, it wasnt common format for online video.

It's so cool in the beginning..when looking through the eyes of the PMC soldier. It would have been an awsome consept to play like in the beginning, in the same enviroment or in somalia...against insurgents hehe
