  • hes playing.

  • Can I assume that our 2 yr. old male Doberman would (if necessary) protect my wife in a similar fashion? He's such a pussycat around the house! And no, he hasn't had any attack/defense training; he's a pet.

  • @LarryRickenbacker yes he would but he would also hurt you to protect you if you understand. i have two dobermann both around 40kg my male runs most days up and down garden so he is all muscle female is a fatty lol. anyways male was out front tied up another dog got loose male went phyco i got in middle and male locked onto my arm right at my wrist because i tried to pull him away from this dog that was in his front yard. same would happen if you got in way of robber. and he is so placid .

  • u know im getting this dog right

  • Dobermans are fuckin badass

  • Dobermans working to a Motorhead soundtrack...did you guys get into my house while I was away?

(No, you didn't...Tucker and Yankee wouldn't have let you!)

Very nice, the young guy has real promise...

  • Good to see a working Dobe with natural ears! Looks like he'll have his Schz 3 in no time!

  • why pull him off? you should be able to just call him off.

  • He was young in this video and we were working on targeting and bite development. A student put together a recent video. It is in our favorites.

  • @kailuagirl87 its weird its a thing called training.....

  • ITS HAMMER TIME H.AHA.HA.H

  • @tutman2006

not too shabby for a dobie, all things considered...but a "HAMMER"???? Really? Someone needs to see more dogs....

  • Great dog! For more info on working dobermans visit the Working Dobermann Forum at USADoberman . net

  • Just a question where do youll get the rubenhof line dobermans. I have a high drive doberman male from thunderstorm dobermans he is in protection training just looking for a female to breed when my male is done with protection training.

  • @robzombie - Check with Swift Run Kennels or with Butch Henderson at Liberty K9 in MD.

  • due to thier fierce loyalty and their "velcro" quality. I would take a doberman over a shepherd any day for a personal protection dog. And I see nothing intimidating in the appearence of the shepherd.and yes I've owned both.

  • Say hello to Blue from me and his uncle "Kaz" Arkan Kazimir Von Rubenhof.

Looking good! Keep up the good work. Where are you in the Chicago area? I visit from time to time and would love to meet the "family"

  • @vadimys We are in Derry, New Hampshire. "Dobe32" with another Gero son is in Chicago. See comment below. If you are ever in the Northeast give us a call.

  • what a cute dog!

  • THAT'S JUST ---OUTSTANDING ---WHAT A DOG .. I LOVE DOBIES.. well done wildland firefighter iain younger U.K

  • He doesn't do it all the time but i want he to seem like he's a threat. and Scare away unwanted guest. Also how do i Know if he will protect me or my household, being dat he's only half doberman and all?

  • The best advice I can offer is see a trainer in your area and be fair to your dog. Protection work is difficult and very, very few dogs are up to the task. Even with the "right dog" it is a long and often frustrating process. If he can do the work take your time and have patience. If not, enjoy your best friend as a companion and give him something else that the two of you can do together like a good obedience class. Good luck.

  • I have a Doberman/Black Lab mix i think he's protective. Everytime he's barking his hair stands up and his ears fall back. When he's barking at ppl that come on our property. Any tips or reasons why he's doing the ear thing?

I want to teach him to Lip curl on command like the Wolves look when they are mad. So i can scare potential threats, so they will never want to try anything.?

  • Do your dog a favor and put him inside when people come on your property. He cannot handle the pressure. He will be a happier and calmer dog if you avoid those stressful moments.

  • Excellent dog.

Is this a son of Ascomannis Gero?

Then it's no surprise he's that good.

  • Yes he is and yes he is!

  • I have a Gero son, Who is the mother of your boy?

  • Bella von Rubenhof

We also have a littermate. Their personalities are very different. Blue is very outgoing and social while his brother is a little sharper. Where do you train?

  • The Chicago Area

  • i want my doberman to be agressive towards any stranger can you give me a quick drill to make them that way or tips or anything that can help me make him agressive

  • NO! This video is a demonstration of his control and NOT aggression. This dog has the genetics to work and is calm and attentive while working. There are about 10 other people in the room when we were taping and I never had to worry about him becoming some sort of loose cannon. This is a game that he plays with the decoy quite like the martial artist practicing his moves with a training partner. If you think your dog can do protection sport find a competent trainer and have a LOT of patience.

  • What sort of bet do you have to lose to end up being the guy in the bite suit?

  • Great training, but I would stop short of the attacking for my dobe. Keep him nice and sweet. Already get enough crap from my neighbors about his breed.

  • Thanks for the comment. Blue is completely at ease in groups of people and I frequently walk him in Boston and Manchester during the evening rush hour. His training actually makes him more reliable and predictable than your average pet. He has his CGC and he is an excellent ambassador for the breed. Good luck with your dog, sorry to hear about your neighbor issues.

  • Nice work Rick. Blue is a stunning dog!

  • NICE!!! Calm, focused and under control.

  • Nice dog work, I wish I lived closer!!

  • Me too!! 5*'s!
