@Lesley1000 Bettie bangs go up in a very significant circle shape, and are very thick and chunky and always curled under. Audrey bangs are cut straight and are not as thick or chunky. I once accidentally cut my bettie bangs into audrey bangs. I was doing the upside down flip (flip your hair upside down and cut straight for perfect layers) and I cut too short and layered by beautiful bangs. I was devastated :p
@HumanoidSparky i think mine are someone in between! they are thick and chunky but dont have a circle shape. sometimes i use a straightener and curl mine under and other times i do them really straight for a change. did you use one of those creaclips with the spirit level when you cut layers or just turn your head upside down?! ive seen the creaclips and they work to the head tip principle. i never realised layers worked like this but it makes sense now. thanks for your information

I just flip my head completly upside down, and usually have someone else cut straight because you can't really look up when doing it. It's really good for layers, and virtually impossible so screw up... unless you go too short and chop your bangs D

It is sooooo hard to cut these bangs. I always screw them up at first and takes time to get it right. I should have watched yours first. I had let my bangs grow out and really had a hard time getting them right again. LOL. Nice job. You look really pretty with that look.

GREAT tutorial! I've been cutting hair for nearly 30 years, and bangs are still one of the most challenging things to cut...every person's hairline and texture creates a new adventure each time, LOL! ;)
My hairline has a widow's peak and a wicked little cowlick, so cutting dry first, then "finishing up" the fine-tuning while damp works best for me (and for most people I do them for).

What would you suggest for getting Bettie bangs for bangs that curl or wave? I can't stand my bangs they curl at the ends and flip, and when I straighten them, a few hours later they start to waive and slant. I don't think she has just caused herself split ends. I'm a hairdresser too, and she trimmed her fringe perfectly. And if people follow her advice, they should cut them perfectly too, as like I did after this video. And teasing only damages hair if it's over done and not brushed out properly. But nothing a healthy trim and a good conditioner can't sort out so i think you should think a little bit more before posting negative comments.

Hmm.. ad for the bangs, is it a sort-of cow-lick? I think a flat iron will help, for sure. They probably need to be trained to lay down right. Just keep playing with your bangs, they might be a little less manageable than usual, but not impossible to style just how you want! :)
@aliceinXchains Square faces can be a little difficult to work with... but I think with some experimentation, you could make it work! Perhaps mix the Bettie bangs with a soft, flowy hair cut - like a soft, wavy bob that frames your jaw-line. And stick with a shade close to your natural hair color, that's always safe and often softens your look :)

You look amazing with the Bettie bangs! And you also got the technique for them down pat also. For some reason, it seems the girls who try to replicate the style don't usually have the right hair type for it, and is usually too thin and straight. Bettie Page, on the other hand, had hair so thick and lustrous you could knit blankets with it- which is why it looked so great on her.

@ToxicStrawberryPanda Awe, thank you so much love! Anslee is the one with a very short cut, right? I don't know if it would look alright or not... I think the appeal of Bettie Bangs is how short they are compared to a longer length of hair to contrast against it. But, I have seen some pixie cuts with short bangs... so although I am unsure of it, it might be best to just try it and give it a go! There's a good chance it will be great :)
@sailord20 An oval face is supposedly the most technically proportionate and desirable facial-shape... so I think if any shape is more suitable for Bettie Bangs than the others, I would say the oval is it! ;)

@xxPOISONEDcupcakeXX I'm really easy to please when it comes to different bang styles! I've had some pretty short bangs in the past myself, as well as ones that hung over my eyes and I like both. The only types of bangs I don't personally care for is ultra thin bangs... kind-of ages a person :(

@singitloud310 I think it would be OK with curly hair, but you will definitely want to style them the same way as I did, almost straightening the bangs as you curl them... does that make sense? For less maintenance, I would stick with longer bangs.
I have found that using a lint roller (made from the masking tape material) is very good for getting most of the hairs off my skin and clothing after a haircut. It greatly reduces mess and skin irritation.

Perhaps mix the Bettie bangs with a soft, flowy hair cut - like a soft, wavy bob that frames your jaw-line. And stick with a shade close to your natural hair color, that's always safe and often softens your look :)

I LOVE YOU! Your videos are a huge inspiration. Your hair is similar to mine, so its very helpful. I've had Bettie bangs for a while now, but I've never quite managed to cut the right shape without help from a hairdresser. I can now say I have succesfuly achieved the right cut! You look amazing with the Bettie bangs! And you also got the technique for them down pat also. For some reason, it seems the girls who try to replicate the style don't usually have the right hair type for it, and is usually too thin and straight. Bettie Page, on the other hand, had hair so thick and lustrous you could knit blankets with it- which is why it looked so great on her.

@ToxicStrawberryPanda Awe, thank you so much love! Anslee is the one with a very short cut, right? I don't know if it would look alright or not... I think the appeal of Bettie Bangs is how short they are compared to a longer length of hair to contrast against it. But, I have seen some pixie cuts with short bangs... so although I am unsure of it, it might be best to just try it and give it a go! There's a good chance it will be great :)

What is your opinion on Bettie bangs that are...ummm...way shorter than yours? i cut mine yesterday and theyre like, 1.5 inches above my eyesbrows.....i like them, but what's your opinion on short ones?

@xxPOISONEDcupcakeXX I'm really easy to please when it comes to different bang styles! I've had some pretty short bangs in the past myself, as well as ones that hung over my eyes and I like both. The only types of bangs I don't personally care for is ultra thin bangs... kind-of ages a person :(

@singitloud310 I think it would be OK with curly hair, but you will definitely want to style them the same way as I did, almost straightening the bangs as you curl them... does that make sense? For less maintenance, I would stick with longer bangs.

I have found that using a lint roller (made from the masking tape material) is very good for getting most of the hairs off my skin and clothing after a haircut. It greatly reduces mess and skin irritation.
