@kortan2 You dont have to play with a pet, some are kept for visual interest. if the idea is sick, there was kind of no point in watching this video. Just saying
Ugh, this video sucks. They need more room than that to roam and dig and rearrange. At night they really make a mess of their set ups, so give them lots of room. Their temps were never mentioned; they should be around 82 degrees F with an average humidity of over 70%.
@alabamaboy357 well, tell me how can you play with a scorpion? with a stick ? even if you play with your bare hands would you get joy? that is the point! this is sick if you gettin joy while you play with it.

these scorpians do have heat requirements.. 80s to 90s is what they like. if you dont care abut your pets happiness then yea it dont matter but i care about my scorpion and want him happy
@waleedgilani The color or location of a scorpion doesn't determine how dangerious they are. There are many yellow/brown/black scorpions that are harmless. They can sting, but it just hurts, it doesn't cause harm (unless you're allergic). The general rule of thumb (and there are exceptions to this) for determining how dangerous a scorpion's sting is this: the smaller the claws, the worse it's sting might be. The bigger the claws, the less severe the sting may be.
@supersanchez1991 they don't bite, but they do pinch, and they do sting. They are poisonous, but its only as bad as a nasty bee sting. (it will only be fatal if you are allergic to scorpion venom, just like people who are allergic to bee venom.) But there are species that can kill you, so do your research.
not being funni bt a cobra bite is worse. iv bin to africa an asia an the amazon rain forest try bein bitten by a black widow thn cum see me. its nt th bite tht nearly killed me it was th venom. lucky enoff i survived without anti venom. wana kno how eat plenty of veg an yur body cn handle most infections an venoms. iv researched it
@GhostV1619 Black widow spiders are very common here in Maryland. I haven't seen one in years though, but i grew up in a much more wooded area and used to see em pretty often as a kid. I'm sure other variations of black widows may be more poisonous, some less. We don't get brown recluses in Maryland, at least almost never, but their venom is a much bigger issue.
@fightbox4 Not really, unless you're especially sensitive to scorpion venom there's only around 24 species of Scorpion that are particularly venomous...though all scorpions should be treated as dangerous...hell anything with venom should be.
do u recon i could keep a desert hairy scorpion in a fluval edge aquarium? 6 gallon betta tank? i moved my fish to bigger tank and thats just sitting there empty?
@TheKraitman He said "Emperor", but now that you mention it, the scorpion in the video APPEARS to have a black telson, which would rule out it being an Emperor. That being the case however, he's still a schmuck for getting the species wrong.
@ubit397 true,if your going to keep exotic pets, know what species your keeping, and their natural history.such as "Emperors are asian",no, their west african,as is several sub species of the genus Pandanis,Heterotmeteris is the largest species of scorpion, they are founfd in SE Asia, they tend to have an attitude and are much harder to find the P.emperor, which as I understand it now, have CITES II protection,so you may not be seeing many of those any more, good news for the scorpion!
@TheKraitman I'm familiar with Heterometeris. I've never kept one personally, but I have friends who do and they attest that they are notably more fierce than their Emporer cousins. P. Imperator is now protected? Really? That is good news for the scorps, but as far as not seeing them much any more.... they're already really well established in captivity and are pretty easy to breed. I suspect an export ban will cause a moderate decrease in the pet trade, but the prices will certainly rise.
@ubit397 What your going to see probably is more "captive bred" animals on the market, they may be a bit more expensive, but will probaly be in better health, and this is a good thing for the wild poulations.

@dragonangel6 What if someone doesn't want a furry little dude, who keeps you up at night because he's spinning around on his wheel? - And besides, if you're going to be STEPPING on it.. you shouldn't own one to begin with.
@BenJamming24 lol, ok mate, whatever, it can so easily happen, it could escape out of its cage somehow and you're wandering around your room not looking, anything can happen, and its called GETTING USED TO IT, fair enough, my hamster was loud, but if you really care about your pet enough, you'll get over the little things like that and get used to it, dick head
@dragonangel6 Haha, aww.. you called me a dick head, all because I made a point. Cute. - If you care for him correctly, and get locks for the cage, he should not escape. I've never had a pet of mine escape. And.. getting used to stepping on your pets? Sorry.. was that what you meant? Or were you referring to something else.

I so want a scorpion, but I got one question how do you handle it? I mean would it try to sting you if you get your hand near to the cage for the maintenance or for cleaning the cage?
