aquariums are fine for a hasmter.. and only syrians fight if put together dwarf hamsters of the same sex will not fight..

a dwarf hamster is one of the many breeds of hamster, which is much smaller than the teddy bear or syrian hamster.

well who would use a glass aquarium cuz i got one and my mum will not buy me another hamster cage because my dad gave all 4 of our hamster cages away to an old friend of mine and i need to know if an aquarium will work or not for a hamster

i disagree with her aquarium comment, i have 3 dwarf hamsters and they live in a aquarium tank and there just fine, and this vid states that Syrian hamster's should be alone because the tend to fight ALOT! but other hamsters like dwarf can live in pairs from 3-4. =) hope this helped anyone.

@pimpinaround i agree yet disagree ... i had 9 hamsters ... all in auqriums... they were just fine as well... just the same .. it doesnt hurt to have a cage either ... i completely understand the whole ventalation deal .... but like i said personally i have no problems either

While this is quite helpful I disagree about her comment on aquariums. I've had hamsters that lived for 3+ years in glass aquariums.

Syrian hamsters need to be housed alone, this video specifically states that it is about syrian hamsters. I do not agree about the aquarium cages I use one with a bar cage topper.
