The PS3 was a little too advanced when originally released, and they didn't give the PS2 enough time to live up to it's potential. Every four weeks, there is a new upgrade to system software that allows all PS3's to play a variety of new types of media and enhances their performance. Instead of coming out with a new system for their PSMove, they just added a new software update. PS3 and Xbox360 are pretty advanced already. If they released early, it would be too expensive and no one would buy.
