In the examples used, German thrash wins. Overall, I vote North American (so as to include Canadian bands >:P) due to the sheer number of quality bands. Heathen, Anthrax and Overkill do a lot for a genre.

Brazilian old school thrash was awesome too...but between Germany and America is fucking difficult... Germany has: Deathrow, Vectom, Kreator, Darkness, Exumer, Pyracanda, Vellocet, Tankard, Destruction and a lot more, but America has Killjoy, Gothic Slam, Laaz Rockit, Vio-lence, Dark Angel, Exodus and one of my favorites ATROPHY!!!... @666deathghost they only released one more LP titled beyond the gates in 1986 and it was nothing compared to seven churches. then, they released the eyes of horror EP in 87 and that was mediocre too. they later released one shitty demo and split up. that's not a legendary band at all. see black sabbath, iron maiden, kreator, slayer and judas priest? those are legendary bands. not possessed.
