I used to live in Wilmington, and those types are all over that city; blame the beach and UNCW. The girl at 1:30, however, used to go to Gold's when I was a member there...and she IS awesome, lol. For overall fitness, I do think crossfit is pretty good though, from the looks of it.

this is stupid. there is very little cardio or heart rate exercises. weight training slows you down and doesn't work the heart much. a BIG HUGE waste of time. go on the exercise bike or treadmill or stairmaster for 1-2-3-4 hrs and it will give you EVERYTHING from muscles, cuts, flexibility to endurance, athleticism, etc. EVERYTHING. do it 3-7 days a week and you'll lose more weight overall and feel better and faster and stronger and eat better regardless.

Weight training does not slow one down either. Both sprinting and power lifts require the recruitment of fast twitch fibers. Power Olympic style lifts are a part of the training programs of many sprinters.

Yeah sure it makes you slower, that's why all those elite athletes (I'm not talking about crossfit here) do weight training, obviously. But it's bullshit that weight training makes you slower, only if you train like a bodybuilder you will get slow because of the excess unneeded mass you'll have to carry around. Actually I prefer doing calisthenics myself because it's more effective but that wasn't the point here
By olympic rings I assume you mean olympic lifting and I can also assume you know of irregular people that should only be allowed to oly lift... or use rings. Browse through some of our other videos and you will see many regular folks doing very irregular things. I have nationally ranked lifters at our regular ol' CrossFit and spend much time teaching people the proper lifting techniques.

In International competition, it is not uncommon to find lifters, from other countries, who can total more than U.S. weightlifters who are TWO weight classes above. Bottom line - U.S.A. Weightlifting sucks! Nobody cares about USA Weightlifting.
