  • I know CF gets a lot of hate, but just look at the results. With that said, I do think half the people who do CF are idiots who should be doing something else. So CF is full of good trainees and bad ones,,,,just like every other weight training sport.

  • Call me a purist, call me a hater, whatever...but it seems like a lot of the females in this video crave attention; they keep looking at the camera, and their workout clothing looks more like sleep wear. I used to live in Wilmington, and those types are all over that city; blame the beach and UNCW. The girl at 1:30, however, used to go to Gold's when I was a member there...and she IS awesome, lol. For overall fitness, I do think crossfit is pretty good though, from the looks of it.

  • @drivingbible I love running and cardio but you are plainly wrong here.  There is benefit to strength training and it can be used in circuits for a cardio benefit. Weight training does not slow one down either. Both sprinting and power lifts require the recruitment of fast twitch fibers. Power Olympic style lifts are a part of the training programs of many sprinters.

In fact weight training can make you a lot faster, since I do pistol squats, which are pretty hard at first, it feels like I run at the speed of light when I sprint :p. Yeah sure it makes you slower, that's why all those elite athletes (I'm not talking about crossfit here) do weight training, obviously. Slow cardio for hours and hours are only good for endurance and it's boring

  • @Thmaxify bro. the greatest athletes in the world are not in the olympics but the shaolin monks and none of them do weight training at all. check out videos of them and their moments, agility, and SPEED and power. one monk in new york can punch harder than any boxer at 145 lbs as measured with scifi machine, as is proven.

  • @drivingbible You're right about the Shaolin monks, they are strong and fast because they do extreme calisthenics day in and out, they even do some sort of weight training but obviously not like demonstrated in this vid. But it's bullshit that weight training makes you slower, only if you train like a bodybuilder you will get slow because of the excess unneeded mass you'll have to carry around. Actually I prefer doing calisthenics myself because it's more effective but that wasn't the point here

    By olympic rings I assume you mean olympic lifting and I can also assume you know of irregular people that should only be allowed to oly lift... or use rings. Browse through some of our other videos and you will see many regular folks doing very irregular things. I have nationally ranked lifters at our regular ol' CrossFit and spend much time teaching people the proper lifting techniques.

  • @cfwilmington "Nationally-Ranked Lifters" mean absolutely NOTHING if the nation that they are ranked in is DEAD LAST in Olympic Lifting. In International competition, it is not uncommon to find lifters, from other countries, who can total more than U.S. weightlifters who are TWO weight classes above. Bottom line - U.S.A. Weightlifting sucks! Nobody cares about USA Weightlifting.
