Tjejerna var helt galna när vi såg bandet i TV på 60 talet! De snacka om deras ögon mm!Vi killar gillade musiken!Ett riktigt bra klipp detta! PS! Bodde i Finland då när Renegades regerade! Således HepStars släng er i väggen!
@Lurven3 Hepporna? Menar du Hep Stars, den svenska gruppen? Det är än tillfällighet men dom hörde den här låtet som en version av Renegades och tänkte det kan förbättras.
There's a problem here. Their scene goes mad with the singeer kicking members down and lay down himself as a sort of 70's rockstar, and the audience are all girls and women not reacting to it really. The audience would have been brutal and went mad seeing this show in 1965.
@LoveMarriott i think 80s was that kind of time, and even a little bit of the 90s because they mantained a lil bit of the 80s spirit, while 2000s suck, above all because of globalization (world market)
If The Renegades did not stop writing their own songs after Gibson left the band, why did they record only songs written by other songwriters? Why did The Renegades tell the Finnish media in late 1990's that Dedys Gibson has past away?
When Brown, Mallet and Johnsson were touring in Finland in 1997 a newspaper article about The Renegades said (info from the band) that Denys Gibson has past away. When Denys Gibson left the band in 1966 the Renegades stopped writing their own songs. There was an article on a Finnish magazine about Kim Brown a few years ago. On the article Kim Brown stated that he was really the one who wrote songs. I think it is not true. It's Denys Gibson! Please contact Gibson and ask his opinion.
The Renegades did not stop writing their own songs. I had it straight from Ian Mallett who was still writing songs up until his untimely death last year. Several songs were collaborations and listed simply as by the Renegades. As far as I know, Denys Gibson is not dead, at least he was not dead before Ian died.
During the heydey of Punk/Sex Pistols Era of late 70;s, my buddy thought they sang " my baby threw up in a Brand new Cadillac....." for some reason...
heyyyyy kim has been my teacher !!!!!! yes we played guitar togheter in italy...lol
....kim if you read this message, i'm pietro.....ciao kim come va ? ti ricordi il bar tabacchi di seggiano ??? ciao bello so che sei in finlandia ora.......good luckkkkkk !!!!!
Yeah! I jammed with Kim Brown 2.13.2008 in the Backstage of Tavastia.Renegades rules forever if you´ll check Kim Brown performance you will notice some similiarities to Jim Morrison. Anyway 5/5!!
Ian was cremated at Blacon Crematorium and his ashed are with his family.I will see if I can find out who actually holds these but does it matter? He is a star in the sky above us now shining his spirit across us all.
Traditonally I visit graves of people that I have known and/or they have made difference in my life. But you are right, it does not matter a whole lot.
It seems to me that Ian was happy when he left this world and may that memory of him stay with everybody whose lives he ever touched!
Ian had a good rock and rock 'send off' at his funeral 16th November. His life was celebrated by his family, friends and The Renegades. His essence was with us this day when the sun shone and leaves were falling from the trees.Intellectual, mathematician, muse, musician a unique person; he was loved by all who had the priviledge to know him. His spirit in the sky will keep the truth in our hearts forever. He was a soul who shared his heart with everyone.
I'm so sorry to hear about Ian.I met Ian in the 70s,he worked for WEA records.I played in a band called Mirkwood and Ian took a keen interest. We became friends and spent many hours recording to a 4track.Ian and I went to Amazon studios in Liverpool,we recorded a cover version of CC rider, released on Rox records.Ian always loved his music and always had a plan for the next 'big thing'.Ian was always in our thoughts and was the topic of conversation at many parties. Rest in peace Ian, Love Scott
Thanx Scotsman for the tribute. Obviously you thought a lot of Ian/Dr Rev Natch too and it was good to hear from you.You summed Ian up in your message; always onward and outwards, always looking at the new'big thing' his latest being to get a cover band together to tour Finland as the 'New Renegades'. Unfortunately his plans did not materialise but then he lived a life of a true rock and roller and inevitably paid the ultimate price. He would not have lived any other way though.
I saw them in Italy about 40 years ago..I was in another band who played before them..After the show when the public had been away they started to play a long session of blues songs ,only for their personal pleasure..and Gosh! they were fantastic!
Ian died on Friday the 19th October, I was with him; he'd had a good day with the re release of The Renegades CD by Warner Bros and was very happy the day he died. The band will be coming from all over the world to be together for the funeral next friday. He was a great friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him
Hey I saw this band at King Edward VI Grammar School Camp Hill in Kings Heath, Birmingham doing this very same song in 1964 or was it 1956. Does anybody else remember that event I wonder?I was amazed to find it on youtube. For the time they were v. good live and kind of wild!
Wow, this is just so cool. I know this place! No it's not Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki it's definetly Turku Concert Hall, in Turku Finland. I know this because I work there! We still have some of those old mikes hanging around.
I can't stop watching this - great group - great song and a knockout performance - to such an appreciative audience! Loads of pretty girls screaming - Ah, it takes me back!!! I remember being chased all over the stage and finished up on top of the piano - an upright mounted on beer crates!! I had to keep playing - of course!! Sometimes I never made it to the piano - it was hard to keep playing wrapped up in girlies!! Hahaha! Those were the days!
This is in Finland, live at a stadium. Their stage antics later developde into a "fight" and they were banned from some stages for it. This is so fun to watch, thanks for posting it. We will add other videos soon, so be watching here!
Beat-punk heaven. Pity that so many of the studio recordings that the Renegards made are insipid by comparison to to "13 Women" and "Cadillac". Still, "Pop" is a rather pleasing beat album and the sleeve notes are a hoot. Wished they would have made a "live" album along these lines. Thanks for posting the clip.
You have them on vinyl? Definitely would like to hear that. It is fun to the young lassies groove to this as well as see the ones that do not know quite what to make of this .
Woah this clip is sheer class, beat-punk to the max...now has anyone got them doin 'Bad bad baby' or...THIRTEEN WOMEN, that'd be somethin else - thanks for sharin it - Lenny (The Thanes)

You complete idiot. I can confirm that Denys Gibson is alive and well (at least he was when I spoke to him on the telephone 2 hours ago).
Making such random and false statements is both foolish and potentially distressing. You should get your facts straight before posting such gibberish.
