a pre-built PC, or an alienware PC (they are too expensive for what they give)

then go to motherboardorg's web or to NCIX's web, in those webs there's a feature to ''build'' PCs choosing each component, just go choosing what you like (and what you can afford) but with that money you can get a nice rig, just don't get a pre-built one.

sigh 500 bucks for 7950 and it gets about what 5-15 frames more then the $225~ Gtx 560 .... less then half price for next to same performance and lets face its when your run at 50+ FPS and extra 5-15 Frames is not worth and extra $240 odd bucks... how is this even an option to buy ?

and pass mark shows shows the 7970 about the same as the gtx 580. New Amd cards on par with old Nvidia cards. i know ill be called a fan boy but facts are facts.

but the 7970 is a good price matching 580, 7950 not.

Don't go XFX. NVIDIA dropped them for a few reasons and one of them was that XFX is crap. Seriously check the BBB ratings and you will see that they have a grade of F. Don't waste your money. Go with something more reputable such as EVGA or ASUS. Those two companies have been around a lot longer. There are many cases proving why you should not buy from XFX. Just look around.

I've always been all for Nvidia, but I am seriously considering AMD for graphics next time I upgrade.

Unfortunately, my current motherboard only supports SLI, so it wouldn't make much sense to get dual 7950's for it. I'm using dual GTX 460's and they are still doing just fine, so I am in no hurry to upgrade anyway. :)
