What I do when people invite me to do something then say its with a person I don't like I tell them that I forgot I couldn't go anywhere because I have to clean or I forgot I had plans with someone else. But most of the time before I agree I say let me check if I have anything to do and then ask who would be going and then I say "Oops sorry I got plans." That way I get all the details before agreeing. ^_^ I'm also a pretty good liar so I don't know maybe that helps.
