This video brought back memories of my own hometown flooding out. It happened so quickly and lasted for so long. The devastation is something you never forget. I know its been several years but my heart still goes out to you all there.
But all you people getting pissed off about other peoples comments can't expect to be taken seriously when you have such a poor grasp of your own language. I mean you write as if you're fucking inbred!
(Incidentally I'm from Sheffield, always have been and was there when this happened, before you decide to troll me)
HWat is with the t'wickers and t'whitting. People in sheffield don't talk like that, we miss the 'the' out totally. Thanks for enforcing stereotypes! ;-)
now then u ignorant little bastard. when you go through it...then you can comment and make stupid little remarks. but untill then, keep it 2 yourself. People lost there lives durin the floods. so keep ur mouth shut.
I was living in Sheffield when this happened. Incredible. I remember walking down a street in Hillsborough the week after and there was a skip outside every house containing floorboards, carpets, furniture... all wrecked. Ever heard Sheffield Shanty by Monkey Swallows the Universe? Weirdly precient what with its lyrics about how "seven hills became seven seas."

sheffield was the worst hit by these floods it said so on the news plus alot of people in sheffield have till not retuend home nd about 4 people were killed in sheffield nd about 600 people got stuck in medowhall i know this because my dad was one of the people stuck in the medowhall area in a cold garage
@Archieola just up stream from hillsborough, where the rivers loxley and rivlin meet, has had the river dug deeper and made wider. plus they removed all trees and plants growing in and around the river to prevent them falling in to create more blockage. the area is beeing seen to every year now or so to keep it flowing i.e. getting rid of growning weeds in the rivers.
i was on a bus stuck on a bus on wicker when it struck on way to darnall then the bus did a detore ended up back at hillsborough so i had to walk up to my chest in water to darnall anyone who lives in sheffield knows its hard enough to walk from hillsborough to darnall without the water upto my chest
To all you lovely people who have decided to slate me, why not just look at the bad English and spelling in your messages. If you are going to have a go, at least write it properly! XXX
To flissyg123. All the people who slated you, slated you appropriately. Sheffield does not get excited at any little disaster and for your information I work and consequently do not require benefits. Also Sheffield is not full of welly wearers either. If you had personally seen how the flooding affected some people you wouldnt be quick to find it funny, some people have still not been able to move back to their homes after the flooding. There Ive had my say and wrote it in proper english too
I had to travel back to Manchester from sheffield the day after to get a plane to Milan. Luckily for me only six trains ran, all to Manchester and I caught the last one (just!) - Also the day before I went 40metres down the road to get my haircut and got absolutely drenched. Was terrible weather!
To all you lovely people who have decided to slate me, why not just look at the bad English and spelling in your messages. If you are going to have a go, at least write it properly! XXX

Can't believe the devastation; I've just left Sheffield after 17 years of happy dwelling so really appreciate this footage to see what really occurred; like the Pulp soundtrack, and don't mind the odd info error - in fact it takes me right back to South Yorkshire.
Thanks...now really starting to see true damage as people can move back in...true yorkshire fighting spirt kicking in, people pulling together to get things sorted:D
And the good idea of building the ring road for the uncaring car driver increased the surface run off in the wicker area. Good job no one can smoke near me as of the first of July but can choke me with their metal coffins on wheels. All these causes and effects of global warming have known since the forties, but no government acted now the public don't.
**NOTE** For the benefit of the viewing world - this montage is not entirely accurate in some it's images of 'Poor old Sheffield' - in fact some of the picturs featured are of the surrounding towns eg; Rotherham, Wath etc etc.
Typical de-da's(outsiders - you wont understand that) trying to make out that THEY were the only one's to be hit with the floods - its always ME ME ME...
