I noticed the Headrush only has one input and I saw you changing the plugs from guitar to mic and back. Do you (or anybody) know what to buy to switch more easily? I hope there are some good, cheap devices for it
well, not really, it is a delay and its got a looper, like the dl4, but there are so much more delay type on the dl4, and there are so much more i/o flexibility on this one.
i think this one is more proffesional, and the dl4 is more axed for the consumers.
can you save a loop.. lets say you have a chorus you need to through in after 4 measures of loop.. can you keep those few bars of chorus saved somewhere to bring back? or do you have to re record all loops?
no, this pedal is mostly a dely/echo pedal that happens to have some loop functions. you cant save anything and you can undo anything except for everything at once.
So how does your rc-20xl compare to the headrush? Do you find that it is superior in every way as a looper, or are there some things it doesn't do as well as the headrush? I'm having a tough time deciding between the two. Any input would be great, since you are one of the few that has used both. Thanks.
hey buddy, good job, but the only thing bothers me is that you have to plug out the guitar and plug in the microphone in order to record the voice. would it be possible to find something which could let both the guitar and microphone connect to the looper together? I also get this fascinating stuff, but i just can't figure out how to do that.
yea you can do it with a mixer, that what i do now with my boss 20xl: plug whatever into the mixer inputs(ie guitar, keyboard, mic, etc etc) then from the speaker out (or headphones jack) into the amp. hope this was helpful.
@isiroibb Ive got the same pedal and it took me an entire day but yes you can get vocal and guitar into the unit but can only loop the guitar. You'd think they'd make a more complex model with another connecting loop channel for a hundred bucks more or so. Cool pedal though.
Hey, this is Zac Hale and I was looking up the Headrush on youtube before buying it and I was pretty happy to see that you had done a video of it man.
yea there's a 3 switches, one for looping one for delay and one for echo (w/ 4 outs to use for multihead echos) the echo and delay both have tap tempo function. it is a really nice pedal and totally worth the money.
hey it's great that you got Tracey Emmen in to do the job on your room - it must be worth a fortune??
but seriously - I just got my Akai Headrush and wanted to say good work! I will be adding something in a week or 2 when I've had more time to play with it so watch this space!
the best way would be running the mic/whatever into a mixer then out of the mixer into the pedal(s) the other way would be by using an ABY (morley) switch but that would kill your volume and tone. the boss 20xl has inputs for both a mic and instrument (with indipendent volume adjustments) if your into singing and playing though the looper i'd recommend the boss 20xl
Ok well I think I've just worked out some of the basics.
Say for example you have 1 percussive track and one riff track and you record a third track which isn't very good. Is it possible to delete only the third? I couldn't see how without deleting the second too.
I don't understand the pedal very well and can't find the manual which doesn't help, but I find it hard to record an original riff in time with any loop because it doesn't have a flashing light or anything to play to as a bpm or metronome. Any tips or things which explain my problem?
yea, sell the akai and buy spend the extra 80 bucks on the boss. the play button on the akai is akward and weird and doesnt work half the time. the boss has automatic frequency sensing and adjustable buttons. i'll have a boss video up soon. let me know if you need help
i dont understand why u chose to use the dodgy second recording as a loop.. as it ruins the whole sound... still good tho!

Great vid, orignal sound. I agree with you on the pedal dude, its sweet!
Just got it and having a play around, my instructions lie though. (about pressing the right switch) you press the left one to start the loop.
Nice vid, i'll have to get mine up one day!
Laters.

Really repetitive and annoying music. You should join an indie-electro band or something.

Do you have any tips for proper timing?
Thanks in advance
