  • Oh how I wish the politico's in D.C. could see this. There are some that understand what needs to be done, but not enough to make a difference. We had the election, the message was sent, but did it go anywhere? Was anyone listening in D.C.?

Fuel is approaching $5.00 a gallon, and truckers and their companies who deliver to our tabletops will have to pass that along to us eventually.

Let's hope in 2012, we can finish the noble work started in 2010.

    And thank a trucker!

  • saveongassitedotcom

  • looks like your not starving fat slabs. rumble sucks. they try to out bid other co. big time. their trucks sit in the yard now

  • burn corn to stay alive . or die fooll. same as eating it.

  • Great story I'm a trucker also of 31 years. I'm in a worst story lost everything except my job. Now im living in my big truck. if i didnt have it, I dont know what i would do. Thankyou BOSS for letting me live in my truck. i've been here 12 years and i got 17 more till im 70 when i can retire and go into the nuresing home :-)

  • heard that hemp can make more fuel than corn, i never liked the idea of burning any food product for fuel because too many children and adults die from starvation around the world. and we as we burn corn to save some money to me it seems greedy and selfish. and to be clear im not talking marijuana so people can get high im talking hemp

  • @DeshGTP plus it take a lot more energy to make ethonal then regular gas, diesal

  • I live in Michigan too and I can relate to what you are saying .

  • The cost of fuel is down to 83.9 cents a litre here

  • I'm glad life isgreat for you, but my husband works for this company as well...I've got news for you - it's as fly by night as they come!! They want drivers to get a certain number of miles per month and then sit them at home for over a week when the driver is ready and willing to get back on the road!!! I realize that companies need to watch that bottom line, but families have a bottom line too and as far as I'm concerned this company could care less about the drivers or their families!!

  • Nice perspective!

  • I love the director's shot and editing choices. The pacing was great. I liked how he or she threw in some artistic shots to add some variety to the usual "talking head" style of documentary.

One thing though. Although the folks in the video were very likeable, they can do the dogs a favor and stop breeding them. Check out your local shelter. There is no shortage of dogs! If worse comes to worst as the the main dude said himself, "We may have to go without some stuff."

    Keep up the great work!

  • that was a cool video. real life

  • Nice Job!

  • HHO Kit?

  • Respect for joal "hard working people"!!

  • I actually did better when Fuel was $4+ dollars because of the FSC now it went to $3.00 Give or take and the ratesa are as if fuel was $1.50 and less What the hell is going on I cant even make My payment now much less take a dime home

  • If you got it truckers brought it so remember that. From a proud Truckers Wife!!!

  • truckers get paid for work.If the load does not offer fuel surcharge for the times appropriate, the driver/business can drive away. And 7.1mpg is like freakin world record. must have the small engine...informative vid.

  • ☺

  • durfuh durf

  • ★★★ VIDEO!

  • The sad thing is there ARE alternative fuels that the US patent office won't approve. The elite push the oil industry b/c they are still making millions and do not wish to change their money making, greedy ways.

  • blaziermissy, What are the reasons these alternative fuels aren't able to be patented? Is it like the issue with herbal medicines, which can't be patented, because they are plants?

  • As I mentioned, billionaire elites who run this country and make billions through oil thwart alternatives non-oil energies and invention patents due to their record profits; oil has made some of the ruling class the billionaires that they are.

  • Beautifully shot.

  • What most people do not understand about the trucking industry is that what they are hauling today may have been contracted at prices developed 3-6 mos. or up to a year ago. You will see a major push for new trucks off the assembly lines to burm CNG (compressed natural gas)thanks to the Pickens Plan. We need to get off the oil boats!

  • were i live right now gas costs $1.78

  • trucking, fuel and lives are the three top concerns in this country

  • A gallon equals to 3.7 litres.

So if the gas price is $5 per gallon, you pay $1.40 per litre.

In other countries people pay as much as $2-$3 PER LITRE, and yet I dont hear them whining as much.

  • Both France and Great Britain have had truck drivers blocked traffic on major roads protesting the high cost of fuel causing massive tie-ups. These costs are passed along to the end consumer, you and me. we should all be concerned on fuel prices, there is absolutely nothing that is not touched in some way by energy/oil.

  • It was less than $2 last week, still under $3, but fluctuates so much in US you never know what it's gonna be.

  • Screw you! Most of the price hikes in other places are taxes not really fuel cost. I saw that happen in england.

  • Diesel fuel right now is about $0.15 less a gallon than what it was when I bought my truck 1.5 years ago.

  • have u tried bio desiel just use used grese from local fast food resturants after u refine it.

  • gotta be careful with that bio disel.. can really mess up the engines, plus will be very smokey when you fire it up in the morning

  • Diesel fuel went down about 50% from what it rose so i really dont know what the point of this video is.....sure loads aren't what they use to be but fuel is deffinetly not an issue.

    -owner of 8 trucks

  • ...seriously...you have to be one dumb son of a bitch....fuel and tires are your two biggest expenses...and you have no concern about fuel. Go ahead keep running it all into the ground.

  • you must be poor? or get some frisky as freight

  • I owned Macks B-61 , DM 600 , R-6000 also International cab overs. The quadruple bi-pass put an end to that. Keep the rubber side down.

  • good times.

  • I've been driving since '97 and can relate to alot of what you've posted here. No doubt the industry is going to change in a serious way in the next few years. Lets hope for the better.

  • From a fellow competitor:

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your piece and I was amazed at how every entry was so well-crafted. I think your story is perfect and some of your shots were very interesting and creative. Good luck

    Cheers
