I played MIM MIA Fenders at GC, can put a quarter in the neck pocket, they need a set up, some needed fret edge filing, frets had finish on them!? . . . . . some sounded good, many sounded bad, 6-7 out of 10 were dogs and needed extra work / setup to be playable but bad tone. Went to G&L dealer, G&L has better workmanship, only 1 out of 10 was bad, all of them great tone you could play, no set up needed. G&L doesn't have the classic TELE twang (from a good Fender). ASAT has its own tone.

I use to have two Alnico 2 Pros in my Axis. But now I am seriously considering a different bridge pickup. Any suggestions? Duncan Custom, JB model, Invader, etc.

Keep the alnico 2 pros. More output isn't always better.

If you want to keep the neck I wouldn't recommend anything with too much output. A Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates would sound good with the A2P.

I got put off of getting a G&L because I founda comanche neck to be absolutely HUGE! Like holding a bloody baseball bat... Andy, are the necks on ASAT's about the same thickness as standard Tele necks? Because that's what I currently play and it's my favourite neck?
