  • Beatiful stuff! What was really impressive was your first two models - after that were so-so models -- but that's how a demoreel should be , put your absolute best up front and weaker toward the end. (And your armored car was very reminiscent of the Tumbler :)

  • very good work, far better than anything on my reel, but what i dont understand as a modeler is why your meshes look so strange.. like the back of that phone, the meshes extend from the Sony Ericsson writing into handle shapes within other quads creating ngons rather than splitting off to the corners.. (2:22)

    Is this really acceptable to an employer?? it's like you deliberately kept all edges at 90 degrees to each other, is there a reason?

  • @xXSythenXx : Hi, I`m not sure, it`s a ages ago :), but what I remember it was about 3,5mil without smooth

  • i like it, i just feel like the close up shots were waay too fast, slow it down. im trying to take in all the intricate details. good work though!

  • Really really nice work.

    But one thing I would like to point out for your future reels. Focus more on some certain details you're happy about. And slow the camera movements down. Focus more on plain turntables animation and maybe some stills on details. Also work on your lighting and backgrounds. Will really help to make the model "pop" out in the presentation. But overall a really nice job you did there :)

  • @kraveN911 : Thanks :). I know, as a reel it`s poor quality. I didn`t know anything about video editing. But I believe I learned something and I was slaped for mistakes :)

  • such a neat topology, all quad?. did you smooth your model or make all the edges normal 0 before rendering? did you fully work in Maya? Gosh your work is so so impressive. really love it!

  • @joeylokeCY: Hi, thanks a lot! Yes, everything is quad geo, it was pain in the ass, but I tried to do it production ready - for correct erendering etc

  • Good models, but the reel itself is very unprofessional.

    Evanescence music for one. The camera is too dynamic, its hard to see what you really did because I will get a severe headache before I notice any details (that's especially about the first model you've shown).

    Wouldn't it be easier to use normal map for that phone rather than making the geometry so complex? And as someone mentioned, the scopes are inverted :P

    IMHO very good work overall, but poorly presented.

  • Hi, thought i'd leave you some feedback on the reel. The models are really nice, however your presentation isnt. You have too many shadow emitting lights in the scene. Your scene is too dark also. Also the reel is too long. You should keep it down to 1-1:30 mins really. Some of the camera angles and movements were a bit random also. But really nice models

  • @v0jt1s3k, you are well skilled in hard surface modelling! I like your own concepts much more than original "copies". I was such amazed by Sunbeam's record of speed so I decided to check it... Yeah, I found it and the info is right but your model of the SunBeam is a bit different from the original (the wings).

    Anyway - you're really cool! :)

    BigAshg123: The first vehicle is about 3,5milion polys unsmoothed, the suit is about 1,5 mil unsmoothed :)

    54sifor54: If I understand you correct - yes, everything is done by polymodeling, but some surfaces I started as a nurbs and then converted them to polygons. Rendered in Mental Ray.

  • @ednan7 Hey, thanks! I didn`t rig it, it was very poly heavy and the concept was not developed very well, so for rigging there are many lacks and geometry bugs. I`d like to see it in motion, but I`m afraid it`s impossible :(
