Go to any bar/pub with live music playing and you'll find if people have never heard of the person on stage, they'll just go about their business totally ignoring the performer. Which is a great shame but
I am a fan but that's the harsh reality unfortunately.
i believe there were ppl who truly appreciate her performance...chiew76 would be one of them.=P she pull it off well, singing live and playing with jz a piano ain't an easy job...well done rie fu!
hey lame people I hate people like that . . . the song id beautiful they don't even kisten argh!!!! . . . poor rie I feel sorry for her oh my rie what have they done to you. . . :(
I love this song, shes a wonderful singer. But the people there are just ignoring her. So stupid. Just stupid...
And about someone saying fucking Brits; I've seen live shows on youtube that were in the USA that had stupid audiences. Just making sure that people won't believe that the British are bastards. :)
Also, Rie Fu was about 4th on the bill of 5 or 6 acts, at a free gig showcasing artists that not many people had heard of. I guess some folk were there just for a chat and a drink or two, with some free music thrown in for good measure.
You could hear her set a lot better in person; I guess my phone picked up audience noise cos I was closer to them than to Rie Fu.
Anyway, I got to meet her afterwards, which more than made up for the noise!:D
She was busy being interviewed for Japanese TV, so only briefly got to meet her. She asked me how I heard about the gig, and where I was from and I got a photo with her.
Two of my friends got interviewed, cos the TV guys were interested in what it was that westerners enjoyed about Japanese music. I couldn't cos I'm of Chinese descent.
Thank you so so so much for uploading! Were you there?? You're so lucky. I am completely OBSESSED with Rie Fu. She is the best!! >_< Thanks for uploading again!!
Rie Fu is playing in London again; this month in fact. She'll be performing on June 17th (Father's Day) in Gladstone Park, sometime in the afternoon I think.
I'm sorry the recording doesn't live up to your high expectations. Obviously not everyone carries a video camera around with them, so this was the only option, and being closer to the audience than Rie Fu herself, the phone has obvioously picked up their voices as well as hers. Go check out some other Rie Fu clips instead...
Great! Everyone who thinks Rie Fu can't sing and that she sings from a tape should see it! It's terible hard to sing in bar, only with piano. And she did it. She did it wonderfull!
cool

well even if they were rude they at least clapped at the end so that kinda shows that they listened.

It doesn`t really matter what everyone thinks about her... Look, there are many people talking and laughing while she plays...
But still, she goes on. She plays and sing, with all her heart. Inside her song, like swimming in her own thoughts and emotions.
That must be song to her. So it really doesn`t matter where, or with who, or to whom, it`s all about her and her music.
That is deeper than being an star. It shines by itself.

Yeah, I was there, but she was one of about 5 performers, so she only got to do about 3 songs or so, which was a shame.
I'm off to see her again tomorrow! She's playing a free gig in a place called Viva Viva, London.
chiew76 4 years ago
a true artist, doing free gigs shows she sings for the joy of it
