  • Nice Wolf

  • how much would it be to buy one of the masks?

  • How much of that clay did you need to make that? I'm currently trying to make a resin mold of a mask, but I have to make the clay base first.

  • what material is that mask made of? is it plasticine????

  • 2:01 YODA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can you wear it or is it way to heavy? it looks to heavy to wear and you cant see out of it.

  • looks like a cheapet

  • Hello, what's the name for mold the head you use??

  • I'm using a stone from the river near my home. I have loads of rounded stones I use for different projects. It was the easiest fix to a common problem.

  • A few questions if you please. 1. Is this made for fur suiting or some other purpose? 2. Is the clay able to be fired in a kiln? 3. Who is Tony?

I learned something by watching you. After scoring it with the tool, you went over the scratches with a wet brush. This removed the loose clay bits and smoothed out the grooves.

  • The mask is sculpted for hanging on the wall. When the piece is finished drying, it is fired and painted with acrylics. This mask in particular was for a client in California.

Tony is my partner in the business. He is a potter by trade, but also a painter and sculptor. All of my videos are of sculpting, he has other videos of raku firing and wheel throwing.

  • Is that hard ?, I mean making the masks

  • Not really difficult. But it's very expensive, especially when making an entire costume with the mask. However, it is worth the money when you are finished.

  • That looks amazing.

  • Good job, keep up the good work.

  • would anybody know what kind of clay this is? and where you can find some?

  • This is clay that is made of all sorts of scraps from Tony's pot trimming. Made of porcelain, stoneware and black clay bodies. All is mixed together, dried and wedged into a studio mix that is recycled into our sculpting.

  • srry what i said on the last comment i forgot to watch the rest srry ...plz forgive me thanx

  • looks like part deer part wolf and a little kangaroo. i think u could of done better.. u work to fast. focus more on the smoothing and the shapes of the face parts and put a little more detail into it work harder i know u can

  • I love the ear biology lesson. Very enlightening

  • Hello did you attach the Wolf's muzzle after you had moulded the head? It is lovely.

Look forward to your reply. Thankyou.

  • The base is put on first, then the top part of the muzzle then the lower section of the mouth.

    Thanks for the questions.

    Cheers,

  • VERY nice!

  • verry nice good jab....:P:P

  • it sorta looks like a jackle

  • omg!! is that anubis god of mumification?

  • I don't know how you feel, but an afternoon messing with clay would make me feel like I've been on holiday.......

  • I just want you to know how much I enjoyed this. If you would have made a 10 hour video making this, I would have watched every second. ;D

  • wouldn't the way you made the eyes create air pockets and explode in the kiln? clay is so much fun!

  • Trimming the mask from the inside allows me to find the holes I made in the eyes. I make sure all the areas have ways for the gases to escape in the firing.

  • good question

  • This is very interesting, its not possible to wear this mask though is it? I've been looking around different places, because I need a real looking sheep or lambs mask for a film.

  • If a casting could be made of it in rubber or pvc, you could wear the casting.

  • what was the kind of clay did u use?

  • It's a recycled studio mix. A bit of everything. Porcelain, stoneware and black clay. The scraps of everything that is produced in the gallery.

    Cheers,

  • Nice technique, and final product not to mention. love it.

  • knottyboy, What proses do you have to go through to get a mask licensed? i herd when i was little that you write a description have notarized and photo of your product and mail it to yourself as to protect your self ?

  • The last view is not the finished mask, is it? What was the mask made of? THANKS!

  • He's not that good one! He doesn't know about the anatomy of wolf!

  • You're right it's not a wolf is a caricature of a wolf. The 4 sculptures I made like this are sold, so I won't quit being an artist just yet...but thank you for your feedback.
