@lido672 Billy Vera is a song writer, and a fairly decent vocalist. "Michael Buble is God's gift to music" to quote David Foster another gifted song writer. Nobody BOTCHED this song, you have the original version, and a new version by a improved singer and improved band. I like both versions.

Michael does have a great voice, true. But! This is the elevator music version. When Billy sings it, you can "feel" his pain, like some lady just tore his heart out, threw it on the floor and danced on it type of pain. Michael sings it like, "gee, this sounds nice". It's just apples and oranges.

@cruzonsax In fact Billy Vera screwed up this classic, Michael Buble's rendition fixed the flat vocal parts., Buble's horn section added missing instrumentation and perfected the old rendition. I was in the audience for this performance, and played music for 40 years, Without a doubt Micheal Buble got it right. Don't get me wrong I love Billy Vera's  but very few measure up to Micheal Buble's vocal prowess.

this is a great live version! thats the thing about live performances is, its one of your favorite songs by a certain artist, but its totally horrible live! 2:55-3:12 is my favorite part on the whole song of the album version, but its different here! not that its a bad thing, but its a big part, and we dont want poor mikey running out of steam, now do we?

@Torcat90 Bill Vera wrote this sing and his version is his own. Micheal Buble released his own version of the song and it is different, and improved. You have to let you head get out of the original to enjoy the Buble version.

I generally like Michael's music, but I think I will stick with the Billy Vera and the Beaters version on this song. Their version carries a lot more feeling in it, and really conveys the emotions in a way that this version does not. If you have never listened to it, you should give it a try..

BTW, am I the only person who thinks Michael is reminiscent of Sinatra?

This version is OK; if you have a decent voice this song is impossible to to screw up because it's a great song.

The Beaters version is superior and here is why.

The version played on the radio is a one of a kind; it was a live show at the legendary Roxy from a band that was just that. They were a band.

Mr. Buble is a talented singer but wouldn't be as recognized without the pretty looks and covering great songs.

Buble is more famous and respected than Billy, but Billy has the superior song.

I've heard the orignial and while he doesnt have the grittiness of Billy he still has a good emotion that comes through (even though the horns are too much through the verse) its not a bad vocal version and not too bad for a Las Vegas version. Nice arrangement in the turn around at the end too

If this is the first time you're hearing the song, then it's understandble that you would think it's good (afterall, Buble is really good), but it pales in comparison to the original which had a more raw emotion to it. Just my opinion though.

to those of you who went to the concert, i read that it was for players club members only??? or something like that.. can someone please clear up for me what that means? ive been dying to go to one of his concercts and was really upset when i found out that this one happened :(

You can become a "Players Club Member" for free. All of the casinos do that I think. It's a way for them to track how much you spend $ and in return you get discounts for certain things. In this case, the "big spenders" got the best seats. It was my first time seeing him. He was fantastic. A lot of angry fans regarding the seating, though...that should have been divulged over the phone when we made reservations. I won't see a concert there again..big screen was only way I could see him.
