People do not live in Pripyat city anymore. However there ARE people living inside the restricted zone in villages and on farms. Nobody is forcing them to do it, its mostly older people who decided they rather die in their own homes than spend the rest of their lives far away.

Is what a hoax? The accident may have been 20 years ago and the area is still radioactive, hence the exclustion zones. As the ecological tour only lasts for a couple of hours, apparently the amount of radiation you are exposed to is not high enough to cause any damage.

We organised a tour via SAM Travel Company in Ukraine. It's definately worth visiting though it is a strange and unsettling experience.
