  • Just can't get into singers that think it is cool to make out with the microphone.

    Learn to sing!!

  • @AcousticFolkFusion If you are referring to this video, notice how when he pulls the mic any more than an inch away from his mouth how quiet the singing gets? Singers have to keep the mic close for it to get the full sound, it's the type of mic, not the singer wanting to make out with an inanimate object...

  • one of the all time great bands!!!

  • I'm not sure this is '93 - looks very near the time of Unplugged/the SNL '92 performance.

  • @johnsomnia yep, no way this was as late as '93. I'd guess early '92

  • dorks

  • BBC's big FU to Nirvana!

  • kids having fun with music, good to see.

  • This is so nostalgic for me. It actually made me cry a little, this video tape was the one I took to bed with me at 8 or 9 years old to help me get to sleep. It was so worn out my mum threw it out. I love this set and i love this band. I wish I was a little older back then so I couldve seen them in thier prime. But seeing them was the greatest moment ever. Fucking absolute genius.

  • that solo ... god I need to see them live before it's too late.

  • I'm glad Eddie got past that youthful phase of getting boozed up before a performance. Don't get me wrong, he can do NO wrong in my eyes, I just think he is SO above that very typical boozed up rock star behavior, but if he had NOT gone thru it I would probably be MORE surprised so I am arguing with myself I guess. He's a class act IMO & owes NO apologies. All behind him for more than a decade now so a moot point. We all do stuff like that in our youth and Eddie IS one of us. EV FanGirl 4 Life!

  • @Satonica eddie still drinks before concerts, my buddy saw them recently he said him and his friends saw vedder pounded beers and gettin high at the side of the stage. he certainly doesn't get as drunk as he used too but i think thats awesome how he doesn't let his age get in the way of havin fun. he's doin what he likes to do not what he should be doing at his age and i respect that

  • Is it just me or does Eddie look and act like a roid head who just got hip to some crystal meth in this vid? Great performance though.

  • very nice!

  • I hope Pearl Jam in about 10 years to continue playing because I only got 12 years and I want them to go to concerts!

  • pricks.. this is yank crap!

  • It was really cool show. Only grunge, grunge (and some other alternative). Sad, that I was just born then. Even MTV then was cool. Now TV is a nothing, but real crap :( .

  • definately was in early 1992, not 1993

  • If the band is being too quiet Eddie is sure to get them jumping with his antics.

  • it amazing what can happen in 20 yrs. time catches up with us eventually.

  • Oh, IIIiiaaahh-ooooooooohhhhhha I'm Still Aliiiive!!!

    So glad this band exist.

  • This bro is like my favorite guitarist, he really FEELS that shit

  • is there somthing wrong ?

  • This can't be '93. Stone cut his hair somewhere around '92.

  • @TheBelgradePhantom79 - The program "No Nirvana" was a compilation of current bands at the time that had played live on The Late Show over the previous couple of years. So although this was broadcast in '93, the recording could be a couple of years older. I love this version of Alive!

  • @TheBelgradePhantom79 hair does grow, you never of guessed

  • when they play they just have so much fun on stage, you can tell they love what they do!

  • @shminiganz ?!

It's obviously the fucked up VHS it's been recorded on.

  • fucking amazing PJ !!!

  • Mike McCready, can you do a solo without making me stop breathing? Shit... I just ear it and ear Hendrix and Stevie Ray and his own touch.. his sound is something!!! Fuck!

  • I'm 55 years old, my son is going on 28, I'm glad he introduced me to Pearl Jam..as I turned him onto Pink Floyd

  • @kantucky ....Thats awesome man, my two favorite bands

  • AGREED

  • i wish my dad listened to or took time out to care what i'm in to, in a musical sense i mean! good on ya kantucky!

  • @kantucky Good rock is timeless. Most bands today will be distant memories in 2oyrs.

  • @kantucky-in Albuquerque, NM and it was an experience I will treasure and remember the rest of my life, it was such a beautiful gesture, the bonus being that my son in law is a drummer and got to see the one and only Neil Peart LIVE, which thrilled me too. They were the best seats in the house absolutely, and seeing the smiles on their faces for both, being able to make one of my dreams come true before it's to late by making sure I got to see "Rush" and the happy and proud looks on their faces-

  • @kantucky-letting me know that they were glad they could do that for me AND that they enjoyed it almost as much as I did.It was brilliant and I am still glowing over it. Few memories I have from life compare to the heart felt emotional experience I shared with my daughter and son in law that night. I'm happy that the kids are financially able to afford that kind of life style because you sure can't take it with you so embrace opportunities like that and hold onto to them because you never know--

  • @kantucky -the time will come when things won't allign perfectly and make it even possible. No one lives forever, you know? Anyway, just wanted to tell my story to someone. I've been bursting at the seams to talk about it. Keep on spreading a legacy like you and I have with our children because one day when you and I are gone, the kids will have such fond memories of sharing the love of our musical artform, or whatever it may be that we find in common with our kids once they're grown. *Hugs*

  • @Satonica True, no one lives forever and when I look at my HS year book and see how many are no longer with us, I appreciate that even more.

  • @kantucky Mate...that there is the most beautiful comment I've ever read! My son is only 2 and 1/2...but believe me...as soon as he understands what music is...

  • Nothing like a young Eddie.

  • That isn't Dave's drumkit,,,,he plays Drum Workshop(DW). I don't think those are Sabian cymbals either,,,doesn't have the sound his kit usually has. But still love how the guy played.

  • TEENAGE ANGST

  • I miss Dave Abruzzese's drumming a lot.

He gave a certain swing to the songs no other Pearl Jam drummer does.

    Just my opinion fellas!

  • why did he leave anyways ?

  • I totally agree

  • HELLL YEAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • not the best audio

  • WOOOOOOOOFUCKINGHOOOOOOOOO :D

  • is eddie's hair cut? or like...tied up or somethin

  • probably tied up like during unplugged

  • lol, guess you didn't watch the whole vid

  • @smurfkillerX Its tucked under is hat

  • When I first saw this video, I thought this was some cover video until eddie began singing. I cannot believe how much they've changed!

  • pure energy

  • I had this on type from years ago. It was at the peak of grunge.

  • god i love when he go's fucken crazy at the end of the songs that shit was the best!! i love to see him bust the crazy shit out again just for old times!! haha

  • anyone else notice that dave is using yamahas instead of DW's

  • i agree with Iveymae, his voice is sex! and im male too..

  • *swoons* Eddie looking intensely sexy here. Wow. He takes sexy to a whole new level. Love it when he wore the hat...can see more of his pretty face.

  • haha pretty, noo.. lol.. sexy, fuck yes. so sexy it hurts.

  • GRungE yeah baby!

  • sound qualitys crap

  • @patcher86 jesus christ, are you aware how old footage like this fucking is. You should be grateful you are even fucking seeing it.

  • @patcher86 fuck dick, u do better

  • AMAZING

  • awesome...and wow Eddie looks sexy here ...actually they all do!

  • Is it cos he's got more zing here ? hehe where as now looks more like an old lazy fuck ?

  • hahaha yea, i guess you could say that!...but even now he looks pretty good for his age lol

  • so stupid rather than sexy...

  • does anyone know whos on the shirt of the guy on the far left?

  • lol i was just being specific...didnt mean it in a rude way.

  • Ed is fucking cute with that cap but without it he's fucking sexy!

  • back when rock was still cool, hasn't been since.

  • thanks emo!

  • how in the hell is that "emo"?. Really?

  • i didnt say pearl jam's emo i said your emo!

  • again, how in the hell is what I said "emo"? That has to be one of the most idiotic things anyone has said about a youtube comment I have made. Just because I said that rock is not cool today, that's emo? Really, get a clue.

  • you are right cause there is no great bands today while there was in the 80's and 90's..

  • There are plenty of great bands these days, it isn't music that has gone to shit, it is the mainstream that has gone to shit. I mean, back in the 90's stuff like this(Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden) where all in the mainstream. Now you just have to look for the good music, trust me though, it is out there.

  • gimme an example of those?..

  • From which genre would you like an example?

  • plz. show me..

  • yeh 4 sure. u just gotta find it.. it's hiding in a world of it's own where it should be.

  • whover invented drugs is a nob i wish they didn't even no loads of great musicians killed emself its well annoying i wish i could see hendrix but its not gonna happen

  • Comment removed

  • i agree abbruzese f-ing owns

  • What a great F-ing band. Thanks for posting. Man, I wish they still had Dave A as their drummer.

  • They don't? Who do they have then?

  • they now have matt cameron, who was the former drummer of soundgarden. Who is still very good, but dave could bring forth some incredible energy. I hope people dont hate on Matt, he was bloody brilliant w Soundgarden, any true 'garden fan can attest to this.

  • I always liked jack irons...

  • MBHD153 what are you on about the "No Nirvana"?

  • That was the title of the BBC programme that featured this performance and other clips that i have uploaded.

  • Why was it called that?

  • @MBHD153 I had this on video tape and my girlfriend at the time loved to watch this over and over especially EV jumping around and when his hat comes off I think she wet her self - this is one of the best performances I think I have ever seen on TV - just fucking amazing

  • @Radz117 its called no nirvana cause they were supposed to show up but said fuck it

  • the ending is awsome

  • No one would mess with Eddie!

  • thats hows its done, kids. jonas brothers must be stopped.

  • no just stopped, i was thinking more along the lines of killed.

either way, music needs to get back to being amazing like this
