  • Now imagine it was an anime :)

  • hey look its hitler and his wife

  • It's me again, and like you guys I, too would like to see the English version of the clip. You want to know what I think? Even though it's funny, I think they should've named it "Don't Sing In The Hurricane." If you see someone like Guy Smiley singing in that kind of weather, you might as well put a sign on him that says: " I'm singing in the hurricane, and I'm a complete idiot!" No. The sign would blow away. But you guys get the picture, I bet. LOL!

  • Okay. When I was little, I saw that sketch but it was sung in english and in a different song. And another thing that came in my mind was " what in the world is Guy Smiley doing out there singing in a heavy gust of wind? Is he nuts!?!" What was the point in all that? I know it's funny, but in real life only an idiot would stand outside in the storm doing that. Kinda embarrassing when clothes are blown off, revealing yourself in your boxers, eh Guy Smiley? LOL!

  • man I'm DYING for the english version, my brother and I use to crack up laughing at this when guy smiley's voice would crack as he tried to sing over the wind.

  • Goodness, I haven't seen this for over 30 years. Well this is the last time I'll ever see this. lol

  • I'd think in the English version of this clip, Guy Smiley would be singing this in his baritone Link Hogthrob-esque voice. I can just hear it in my head =)

  • Most likely.

Maybe in 2012, clearance issues can come to an end?

  • You're right! It WAS the Link voice! I remember that, too.

Didn't they do a Street version of "Up Up and Away" as well?

  • @IJustWatchEm71 Yes they did. But the last time they showed

it on Sesame Street either Ford or Carter was President. I hope

I could see it at least one more time before I die. Again- music

    clearance hassles...

  • great dramactic ending to that classic sesame street music skit from late 69, but where is the english version of that same skit do you all know?

  • Only God knows whenever copyright clearance issues will finally come to an end and the English version will see its light of day, I guess.

  • @wattamack4 It was perfect timing when "If I'd Knew You Were Coming I'd Have Baked A Cake" came out on the 40th anniversary DVD set. Maybe if we're even more patient, more of them will appear I bet.

  • Well of course, I think that song was pretty cheaper to get released. I'm not sure about how much the current company wants just for this to be released though.

  • Was Guy SMiley blown away, or did he just sail of screen cause he was embarrassed that his clothes blew away?

  • I especially liked the trumpet in this song! I played the trumpet my first year in high school.

  • I see Paris

    I see France

    I see Guy Smiley's underpants!

  • I have no idea when clearance issues began, but it sort of seems like SW can still get away with releasing the songs on audio.

  • the house suffered upper end EF-4 to EF-5 damage, Muppets must be really heavy !!

  • Love the ancient oldies.

  • Very nice.

  • How much does "Gone With the Wind" cost anyway?

  • How ever much they want.

  • I thought the songs cost a ceartain amount of money based on how much of a hit song it was considered?

  • It's good to see this back again after the German post from 2007 got deleted. It's a real shame this can't be released anywhere as of now, for obvious reasons. But ah well, English or not, still a classic clip.

By the way, I'm sort of glad I never saw this as a kid, cause the hair blowing off the woman probably would've scared me.

  • And you were just requesting me some of those songs from the first season. It'd be nice to see them if copyright infragment isn't such a problem.

  • I know, right? Ah well... maybe some day, we will be lucky. But for now, I suppose we will have to keep our fingers crossed (cause I'm definetly not loosing my hopes for "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds".

  • Unfortunately, Gone with the Wind was cut from the first season DVD release.

  • Oh yeah. It was a shame that they did that.

  • That episode seemed a bit empty to me. We never got to hear Jim Nabors sing with the rich baritone voice he's known for. Only the twangy country one.

  • Nice find! Look at the size of that sink! Mice would say it's too small.

  • @MarshalGrover If Jim performed Guy Smiley in the English version (if that even exists) does that mean that Frank Oz or Carroll Spinney was the woman?
