  • excellent. fly on... you should have played the whole thing though, the bridge is good

  • excellent. fly on brother

  • Cool!!! Nice tone and playing. I think you could clean up the execution just a tad but that's being picky.

Hat's off to you for helping to keep the real, groove-oriented bass vibe alive. (ie no noodling or lead-bass BS. ) This is emphasizing what makes the people bob their heads and move their feet. And what really makes playing the bass fun!!!

  • This guy is pretty damn GOOD!

  • good job, kid...but you better hit harder on that downstroke fill...looks like you gots da funk tho...

  • pretty good sound

  • nice. if you have tabs for this song could you please post them somewhere.

  • thats cool but you should make it more interesting like make it your own. maybe put some distortion on that bass of yours and play a little solo or something dude

  • would you chrome-plate silver?

  • so much for interesting discussion. was just offering a perspective which perhaps you hadn't considered. i thought i was being respectful enough, but oh well. beg your pardon...

  • ...and for the record, i RESPECTFULLY disagree with your assertion that anyone can just copy bootsy. take it for what it's worth...nothing really. just another cat with an opinion and an i.s.p. :-)

  • whatever i just dont see the point of this video. 8===D

  • rspexperiment is a gigantic faggot.

  • Nice...Never thought i would request something from someone on youtube but... Please, could you play PEG by Steely Dan i got problems with the Chorus! Thanks

  • HIP!!!

  • i usually dont like bothering the you tube bass gods with requests. but here it goes. marvin gaye's "right on" off of what's goin on. PPPPPLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE!

  • ...quick version done - good call...

  • @macflapalicious - you just gotta love Marvin Gaye's music and the James Jamerson basslines X)

  • groovy!

  • Apparently BWizer got banned or something as all his posts were removed. Too bad as I wanted to tell him off some more.

  • Jamerson, was this song out before Ain't No Stoppin Us Now or after? They familiar man, which came first?

  • Hi - Bootsy did this in 71 - 8 years before Ain't No Stoppin Us Now. You're right, it is pretty similar, esp the 1st part of the riff. I love Bootsy's tone on it - flatwounds & fingers - before he got into the space bass stuff...

  • Yea man, mad funky. I play a little (mostly reggae), and one of my favorite non-reggae lines to play is Ain't No Stoppin Us Now. I need to get me some Flats haha.

  • You'll love flatwounds - Family Man uses them, so who are we to argue?! These are Rotosound Jazz flats - really high tension but I broke one of my La Bella's and don't have spares :( I like both, but the La Bellas are smoother sound and easier on the hands, I reckon. You should do a reggae version of ANSUN - reggae artists always do the best covers IMHO.

  • Dude, could you tell me please if you have ever tried Fender Flats?

  • funky@ awesome stuff!

  • Thanks for the great bass line from Bootsy. Do you know any Leland Sklar?

  • this is awsome jamerson
