The premise of "Buy a gun day" is a bit misleading. I think everyone believes that there was and is some kind of small arms destruction day in the US which the UN has something to do with. Not the case. It's about destroying weapons in countries where terrorists are trafficking them or they're being manufactured and sold illicitly to warlords and factions. However, I support buying a gun on July 9. Hell, everyday should be "Buy a gun day". I live in Ca, so it's every 10 days for me.

Removing guns from bad people is a good thing, but destroying the guns they've already removed from the wrong hands has absolutely no effect on crime or terrorism, it's just destroying guns that could be sold to responsible citizens. This is just a way to show them we don't buy their anti-gun bullshit.

That was enough to sell me I just had to wait for my Damm shooters licence Which finally arrived last week. so next week after payday I go to my Local rifle dealer and plonk a 700 dollar deposit on the counter fill out the paperwork and start waiting Again.

When cops & local law enforcement do it it usually helps the community, but there is a difference between removing guns from criminals and destroying guns they've already confiscated.
