Sitting around waiting for 6 hours to jump, carrying a hundred pounds of shit...have to spend 6 hours running around the drop zone clearing an objective then do a 12 mile road march to some shitty range and spend 10 days out there doing gay shit with like 1 hour of sleep a night. Then get back and have to do a fucking class A inspection only to get up in 2 hours to do PT. Then spend the next week doing layouts and packing lists for your next exercise to OP13. Yes, FT Bragg is awesome... POGS....
wow how weired here I am looking up fort bragg and i come across this. I hope you guys are doing well and wish you all the best of luck. Thankyou so much for helping out Amanda I hope she is able to meet more people like you when we get there.
Great video! Although it doesn't excactly reflect my times there because I was single. My times were probably a little more wild(but then again who knows?). I was just on here looking at jump videos and came across yours. As I was watching(I was there before this age of mass video). If I knew exactly what was happening as I left the door- I wouldn't have done it!! Well, I still would have done it. But I would have been even more terrorized than I was!!!!
You're husband deployed for the first time as a SPC? WTF? He's either a shake and bake SPC or a pussy fag for not deploying sooner. Judging by your faces you and your husband were made for eachother. AATW
That is a BS comment. Wow. Seriously...no respect at all.
What if he had been assigned to Korea? What if his previous unit had a stateside mission. You can't control where the Army assigns you. As a soldier you do what your are told.
Thanks for the video, but people often have nostalgia for a place they left. I have been @ Ft. Bragg since 1999 and it is horrible. High Taxes but ugly town.
I lived at Bragg for 4 years and have good memories. However, the town officials should put more into the town to make it more appealing. I heard they have a couple of small water parks now. Other than that, it was movies, eating out and the Airborne Museum. That was pretty much it.
as much as it was boring in Bragg I still miss it. Thankfully I had great housing on Pope AFB, and wonderful friends Who Made every moment worth it. :-)
lol!!! wanna be thugs.....no sir, not all. Thanks for serving, but u take away from yourself when u say ignorant stuff like that. Not all BLACKS are thugs, im not, but i will act as a man if needed. Catch my drift?
I hated Fort Bragg and Fayetteville. That city is one of the worst places. And if your white you are out numbered by all the wanna be thugs and blacks. ITZ...and some others blow. Every one in that city is wanna be SF. All the support of civil affairs run around with long hair acting like the real SF. Its a joke. XVIII Airborne Corps is full of scared little NCOs and that unit is the weakest in the army. The 82nd sucks too. Whats cool about jumping from 800 feet agl. Nothing!
raneri81--Sadly, that is most of North Carolina for you (not just Fayetteville). I don't know how anybody could call it a great place. Then again, those who are born and raised in a place are going to think that way (even though it's not true).
I agree. I hated Ft. Bragg, Womack Army Hospital (named after my second cousin), and Fayettenam but it was always such a rush stepping out of a bird in flight. Airborne All The Way
Thanks for posting this video. I've got some great memories of Ft. Bragg and my time with the 82nd form '90-'93. Best of of luck to you and your family and the friends you made - some of my closest friends that I have today are the ones I made while at Bragg.
I was in the 2nd grade in class at Holbrook elementary school the afternnon that John F. Kennedy was killed Nove 22, 1963.
The first McDonalds I ever ate at was in Fayettville. The sign read "Over 1 Million Sold" and my father tried to explain to me how many 1 million was.
It was a great place for a kid to grow up. The Army was always providing us with activities and events to have fun with.

@whenis2012 Yeah that town had lots of titty bars and sew shops but little for recreation or scenic activities.
