How do you put grid in piano roll? i tried to insert the eddited 3xOsc in piano roll but it puts big green piece not square ones. Thanks in advance

@NicoT1n3 Scroll to the end of the note, click on the end and drag to resize, use alt + click to bypass snapping, OR double click on the note and set the duration to 00:01:000 and work from that.

this is so good!!! it reminds me of all the psychedelic artists i listen too. if you do a next video, it would be really cool if you could show us how to do the 64th note and 128th note. a lot of psychedelic musicians do this, like for the example Electric Universe. but fantastic job by the way...this blew my mind. im as well in a band called "Iridescense", curently being developed.

@droidekalane I use exactly 1/64 very rarely (my bass notes are usualy between 1/64 and 1/32 and upwards). 1/128 is too short on that tempo IMO. To get 1/32 snap click on the magnet icon (Snap to grid) at the top-left on the piano roll and select step, similarly to get 1/64 snap select 1/2 step and for 1/128 select 1/4 step. I usually have it on 1/2 and use L-alt + click to bypass snap when resizing notes.

@swif7y Step is 1/32 of the full note length (1 bar). Snap determines how notes and events move relative to the Piano roll grid and how quantization aligns items.

@mmadboy1 1st of all: youtube messed with the sound quality so in reality the kick doesn't sound like that. But i played around with pogo effect in the channel settings, and pitch.

jeez im not getting it. first it sounds totally different when i try it, dunno what ive done wrong :((( and second i use fl 9 so i can't shorten the notes anymore, 1/16 seems to be the shortest possibility.

did i get this right, when you shortened the notes it became a sidechain, doesn't it?!

Before you start arranging the notes, make sure your bassline sounds properly, in any case, not like that, not with 3OSC. And stop using FL, use Reason or Cubase.

i still wonder why people posting this kind of stuff like to call it tutorial.. this is just a personal method.. it cant be taught as a tutorial or claim to be a tutorial since music is unique from one to another and theres not an exact way of making music.. and not being a hater but you shoukd atleast know how to teach how to EQ the bassline,how to make it thicker,how to compress it.. share your methods but dont confuse people looking for tips or methods and not TUTORIALS.

@reactor4music Whats the first word that comes to your mind when you're searching for a video or a demonstration of how something is done? I would search for a "tutorial" as a keyword first, than try others. As for compressing or eqing the bass i tried to explain that in my second video but its all as you said unique to each person doing it, also unique depending on the type of music youre making, the samples etc. Every song of mine has different bass eq and compression.

its rly hard for me to make a more advanced tutorial, i just go with the feel when making bass preset (experiment. trial & error etc) and than i tweak it with eq's, but the key is listening to what it sounds like to you, and try and compare your result with some pro track... Ofc professional studio monitors or earphones do help :)

The point aint in what synth to use, but how to program the bass, and i found that 3xosc was the easiest way to demonstrate that.

Usually i use VB-1 or Sytrus for my basslines.

I would reccomend Sytrus, because it gives you much control over the bass sample. And VB-1 is, while used by most artists out there, good but you cant achieve much different bass samples with it, it has specific sound that you cant avoid. Try using Sytrus.

i don't think your kick has tone...it's just a slide all the way down, with no pitch stops anywhere. therefore, tuning it is unnecessary.
