  • hi ali, just want to know if the chainlink will work on futaba 7c, just like the other guy asked 1 month ago but no answer.thanks and i hope for the answer.thanks and more power to you.

  • would this work with an rc car?

  • Would this work with the futaba 7c 2.4? If i plug the chainlink into my radio, would the 2.4 get in the way? Seems like my radio would be trying to put out a 2.4g signal...

  • @RCschuback they will send me one soon for my videos :D

  • can you give me a link to buy the chainlink i cant find it on there site

  • Is there a way to connect this to a Dx6i or Turnigy 9x easel like a dragon link you just have to connect 3 wires?

  • Maybe try running off a seperate battery. Signal might be coming in on power side. Also toroids help get hashy stuff off wires.

  • I just tried out my chainlink and something weird is happening. With CL at low power setting my video (300mW 1240Mhz) is completely gone after 50 meters (150ft). However when I turn CL up to high power, video is totally fine up to its maximum range. Do you have any idea why low power kills my video?

I have checked, my power switch is labeled (unlike yours it seems) up=low, down=high, with the antenna on the left. Its somehow backwards, or lowpower just makes weird RF noises.

    Can you help? :(

  • @SvenOkonomi well just fly on high power then hehehe. I have no idea why its happening. maybe the RF noise is causing it

  • @alishanmao I kinda fixed it by tuning my antennas to a different channel, now I just have a nasty black bar scanning across my screen. Do you use any sort of filter to get the nasty 1.3ghz spikes from chainlink out?

  • @SvenOkonomi I never had those problems

  • @alishanmao What frequency are you flying on? 1280mhz and 1360mhz were both garbage after 50 meters, 1240mhz was reasonable up to 1000 meters, but still had a nasty stripe scrolling through the picture. I dont know what to do. :( A lowpass filter apparently kills the UHF range.

  • @SvenOkonomi oops mate, i have no idea bout what frequency I am flying on. I just connect my UHF and turn the power on and start flying, never did bother to know what frequency it is, thought it was 433mhz or 933mhz not sure. I got to 15km one day without problem. Just lol battery was running out on plane so had to glide cruise glide cruise took me 20 minutes to get back

  • @alishanmao I meant your video frequency. ;) I'm completely baffled why my chainlink is causing such a mess while you manage to fly off 15km.. I'm also using a 1.3Ghz 800mW transmitter just like you are using, on channel 8 (1240mhz), and I get a big fat nasty black stripe in my video. Definitely not good enough to even consider taking off. So I'm trying to find out what you're using thats different from mine. ;)

  • @SvenOkonomi well maybe you mounted stuff too close. my video Tx is way back behind the Propeller. My Chainlink Tx is inside the fuselage far away from Video tx and OSD even.

  • @alishanmao The problem is at the chainlink transmitter. As soon as I turn that on, my video turns to crap. Your solution is for fixing problems with controlling the plane. Chainlink just pukes out a lot of noise on 1.3Ghz. Im going to try and fix it by putting a low pass filter on the chainlinks transmitter antenna, but I doubt this will fix it all.

  • I noticed you kept the futaba module in the Tx. Will that consume more power if you leave it there?

Also, if I remove the original Futaba module, will the chainlink still work?

Thank you and keep up the great work :)

  • @ehsanaman222 I took the Crystal out and later I took the module out as well to save power

  • I just received my brand new chainlink system after I saw you flying with it. but I have a question. How do you mount the softwire antenna? Does it need to be straight or is it a "Vee" antenna or something? The manual doesnt say. :(

  • @SvenOkonomi On your radio (the tx module) will have the long black antenna, try to mount the CL Tx in a way that when you fly or hold radio, the antenna stays vertical. the V Shaped or T Shaped soft cable antenna will go on CL Rx.

  • @alishanmao Im sorry, let me rephrase. ;) How do you mount the RECEIVER antenna?

  • @SvenOkonomi I was told that best to mount it Vertical (the T End) but I did not get good results doing that. I then took the RX antenna from bottom of fuselage all the way back to tail and mounted it horizontal like a V Shape using Tapes. I get best results now.

  • @alishanmao Aha, so its best just to stick it on the leading edge of the horizontal tailplain?

I also wish the chainlink antenna had an elbow like most antennas.

I have a pult transmitter (table kind) and I have no idea where to put it.

  • @SvenOkonomi damn, that table type tx are trouble. you need to get the CL Cable extended (make it long) and attached the CL at front side of your table tx

  • Can i use 5.8ghz or 900mhz with this?

  • @2004ayden 5.8g is better

  • @alishanmao Thanks alishanmao,and can i use a head tracker with this.

  • @2004ayden can not as it takes up your trainer port

  • which port do you connect to the Rx if you are powering it off of the BEC

    thanks Ali

  • @RCcunuk you can use any Channel. I use Channel 12 to put BEC power Supply to CL Rx

  • Do this Chain Link connect to my Jr 11X?

  • @lpcavedagne it will

  • Hello Ali! I have a Spektrum DX8 radio (2.4 Gz) Will this Chainlink system work with my radio too&

  • @sprutadm if you can get it to connect to PPM out of your DX8 yes it will work

  • hey eryn4586, i have the chainlink, only delivered yeaterday so not flown with it yet, and i have the hitec optic 6 with the synth module on, and i have taken off the module and soldered a 5 pin connector on the end of the supplied wire, and plugged it into the pins at the back, i believe you can also use a hitec trainer cable that you sloler onto the wire

  • Does Chainlink work with Hitec?

  • Ali, Great videos! One suggestion though... I suggest removing the 72MHz module from the 10C when operating the Chain Link. Blue LED on front of Tx means it is still transmitting on 72MHz. This will shorten battery life (transmitting Chain Link and 72MHz at same time), and could also possibly cause damage to the Tx due to heat buildup from the 72MHz Tx antenna being collapsed.

  • @twinturbostang thanks for heads up. I will remove it next time go fly. Thanks mate. yesterday had a great 6 or 7km long flight, altogether it was a 12km trip :D fun

  • What are those ferrite cores(those green round thingy's) used for on some of the wires? Just curious. I've seen them on other setups but have no idea what their purpose is.

  • @da959 they reduce the interference

  • Hello Ali, I have a Futaba T10CAG 2.4ghz FASST(doesn't have removable frequency module on the back). Will this Chainlink long-range UHF system work on my radio too? I have the same size/type of trainer port you have on yours:) Thanks! Don

  • @realtvnow yes, u can use it, but I don't know if we connect the trainer port, the 2.4G module will be disabled automatically.

  • @BEVRC He can get the module out maybe.

  • Do you get radio transmiter when you buy j3 cub

  • how much does skywalker weight overall????

  • Now how do you hook up the camera to the remote viewing rig you have?

  • Yeah...Skywalker FPV!

  • @UtubeAdminSucksAss Flew it today for 12km ;) Outback, was fun
