  • Im not attacking you in any way, and im sorry for the loss of your family, but we both know what im trying to tell you, i too will have you in my thoughts, may jehovah be with you

  • when a jehovah's witness is doing something wrong it only affects that person, now if you know that someone is doing something wrong and you dont say anything about it to the elders, then its like you are being an accomplice to that person, its the same thing like when you kill someone in the real world and the police finds out you know and you dont say anything, then your going to jail also...but it does not affect the entire congregation only people envolved

  • @jmjw27101 being an accomplice to a murder is a few orders of magnitude different than simply becoming aware of a friend's petty sin's like smoking a cigarette. However, the Bible gives no no distinction between sins therefore, in the Jehovah's Witness world, being an accomplice to a cigarette smoker, by viewing it take place is equated with being an accomplice to murder. The logic is so absurd and the fact that it actually holds sway in any person is a deep mystery of the universe.

  • @exjwphilosophy nobody is forced to do anything or tell on anyone as we both know, you can decide to tell on them if you want but you dont have to, but everything has consenquences...I did not get disffelowshiped for smokiing or for any other sin that i got committed because as we both know anyone can be forgivin if they show the right attitude of repentness, I got diciplined for my attitude that I had towards everything I did, I just simply didnt care, but now I accept that

  • @exjwphilosophy continued: and i want to serve jehovah and be happy as I once was and not miserable all my life like you seem to be

  • @jmjw27101 if you take a look at my profile picture you will see that I am not in any way miserable. I am grieving the loss of my family, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying life.

  • @jmjw27101 I was just offered a lead position in the industry that I work in. That is because even though I have been grieving I have been able to continue progressing in my life.

  • @jmjw27101 I find it sad that you feel you need to attack me personally when I show you the truth about your organization from their own pages. You are in my thoughts, farewell.

  • @jmjw27101 if I see my friend smoking a cigarette I would ask him why he feels he needed to start. It's his decision to do what he feels is best for him. However in the JW world I would be forced to expose his sin to the elders and force him to stop. This is not how friends treat each other. Friends don't blow things out of proportion like that. Friends stick it out with each other even if there are differences. If that doesn't happen it wasn't a real friendship to begin with.

  • Great video! I've been out of the religion for about 4 years now and I kinda forgot about some of those ideas they have. Really wacky stuff lol. Glad to see you are thinking outside the cage :) Takes a lot de-programing.

  • lol, ninja skills :p

  • the Watchtower should be challenged legally for its achaic and out of touch reasoning, it promulgates and promotes religious intolerance in such it must be having such a negative effect on U.S foreign policy ,

it is considerd dangerous in Russia and France ,but most of all what bothers me it likes to use the principles of freedom the United States promotes but witholds these rights from others .

  • Welcome! Nice to see yet another face ready to speak out against the WT Society. Looking forward to future vids.

  • Whoever applied the case of Achan to a modern day congregation was making a huge mistake. God was forming a nation and government using Joshua & the 12tribes while it was under threat from enemies. The valuables were considered a resourse to be used in Israel's defense, so Achan was guilty of the equivalent of treason, & the chain of command made Joshua and the elders responsible. So Achan's execution was appropriate. It has no comparisson to some personal infraction by a modern day parishoner

  • @LovingScrubbies

I don't see why the thing about the priests is an issue either for

the JW, OR for you here. Non-priests were no less "saved", so-to-speak,

than other Jews and israeiites. They had particular requirements and

functions. The point of the Law was that it is God who decides how to

approach him and not you nor I.

  • Hey, don't be nervous making videos. Your youtube viewers aren't gonna dress up as smurfs, sneak into your room at night and possess you with a smurf-demon of incontinence... Well we might... But just for fun!

    Welcome to ex JW youtube

  • A very good and informative video. I didn't know the witnesses took that attitude regarding blood guilt. Now I know, so thanks. I liked the disclaimer at the front by the way (you're far too considerate).

One question. You've been out of the witnesses for about a year (that's a good thing).

But ... Do you still believe in God ?

Are you a practising Christian ?.

  • @ServiceProcess I believe in a Creator, and that Creator had a purpose when creating us. Other than that I have no firm spiritual beliefs.

  • @exjwphilosophy Well ... that's good because post Witnesses, many people give up on God altogether. I hope that you follow through with your belief and investigate the ins and outs of the Creator and why we are here.

  • @ServiceProcess

JWs are the only practicing christians, because their only ones practicing the work that Jesus did.

  • @theBIBLETHUMPER83 are you sure that Jw's are doing the "same" preaching work as Jesus?

  • @1914watcher

Their the only ones doing a preaching work PERIOD

  • @theBIBLETHUMPER83

The preaching work? Oh, I almost forgot about this claim by Jw's. At Luke 4:43 Jesus was preaching "the good news of the Kingdom". Matt. 24:14 also speaks of preaching the "good news of the Kingdom". JW believe Matt. 24:14 is specifically refering to the ESTABLISHED Kingdom since 1914.....so what was Jesus preaching when he was preaching "the good news of the Kingdom nearly 2000 yrs ago?"

  • @1914watcher

Thats right he was, and he trained his disciples to carry on his preaching work when he was gone, also he told us pray for the God kingdom, becaue clearly its not he here yet. Then he intstitued the lords evening meal 2000 years ago too, but we are instructed to continue doing this.

    Any other questions ?

  • @theBIBLETHUMPER83 Oh yes, The Lords evening meal. Jehovahs Witnesses say every year at their memorial, that Jesus Christ expelled Judas before the passing of the bread and wine (New Covenant). Well let's look at what Luke says.. Luke 22:14-21.. did you notice what the BIBLE says at 21? To make this point more clearly, continue on and read 22;22-24

Did you notice the Apostles did not know of who Jesus was speaking about?

If Jesus had "REALLY" expelled Judas then Luke 22:23 makes no sense.

  • You are a welcome addition to the YT exjw community!

  • Welcome :) nice to meetcha

  • Great video! Looking forward to more!

  • Thanks for sharing. You really hit the nail on the head with your points about how JWs are so consumed with holyness. They miss the whole point of the old Law. The old Law stressed holyness to make us aware of our sin and the need for a redeemer. Now that Christ has come we are finally able to be Holy, but it is not thru our works its only thru His blood. The old has passed away so that what is complete may bring us peace. I never had peace as a JW. Great job, looking forward to more!

  • Recall the reminders:

"You must be Holy because I am Holy, Jehovah your God has said."

"Do not become a sharer in the sins of others"

"Remember to keep your highlight pen ready for study!" Bible Study conductor!

  • awesome video... very sound reasoning. very valid points, and it's obvious you have experience being a jw. i'm looking forward to more vids.

  • Welcome! Your video reminded me of a talk our Circuit Overseer gave last year. He used the Achen account to show that if anyone in a household is an apsotate and the other members don't report him, then they too will be held accountable with disfellowshipping. He's the same wicked S.O.B. that constantly say's that disfellowshipping is merciful because those who are DFed really should be stoned. So Jehovah' is merciful.

  • @donaldsodav290 Wow, that is a very pertinent scripture, thank you for pointing it out.

  • @exjwphilosophy When I first read 1John 4:18 it opened my eyes up. I thought to myself "thats a relief". I was in constant fear of everyone. I feared the other members or reproof because I wasn't doing my best. I feared man more than I feared god. The organization is set up in such a manner that like you said breeds paranoia, gossip and just general dogmatic organizational proceeding.

  • @exjwphilosophy Are you an ex-jw yourself?

  • @donaldsodav290 Yes, been out for a little over a year.

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God want of you? Only to FEAR the Lord your God, to go in all His ways and to LOVE Him - Deut10

  • @donaldsodav290

Do not despair. Contradiction is not the same thing as

incompatibility. You just need to stduy the Bible more seriously.

Life has contradictions but we deal with them without throwing

away our life. It would be irrational to dismiss the Bible for it.

Interestingly you are supposed to wrestle. Israel means he who

    wrestles with God.

  • @donaldsodav290

Incidentally, consider Proverbs where it says(paraphrasing)

Let anger alone and leave rage--Don't get angry right?

Then next it says Be angry but do not sin.

That's a contradiction too isn't it? But if you understand it

    it makes good sense.

Grasp that the Bible is an oriental book by an oriental culture

conveyed principlely in an oriental language.

The poets are similar to sen koans sometimes which are

full of contradiction. That is to train us to think outside the box

  • @donaldsodav290

---and if you look at it with a pagan (western greco-roman) mindset you will muck it all up.

  • @donaldsodav290 You're response is a nonsequitor. I am not arguing theism vs. atheism. I was talking about a subject I love with enthusiasm. If you are looking for others to agree on things for you you are not taking an independent route. How did you decide how an all powerful god would do things? Contradictions, they are everywhere in reality. Adults cope with them. ("Have angel greet me..") Im not in charge of angels yet, but your choices are your own responsibility. Twasn't
  • @LovingScrubbies

Twasn't I who quoted John, it was u and I responded.

I didn't come to fight. Your demanding attitude takes

me aback. It impresses me as ironic ppl who are most

resistent to knowing something about the bible are the most

demanding for others to do the proof work for them.

    Have a nice day.

  • @LovingScrubbies Have angel greet me or a burning bush that talks or a sea that parts and I will believe and follow for the rest of my life. However a book is not enough evidence for a thinking person to accept blindly that all these things are real. The bible reads like a great novel, doesnt mean its real though. I think people do whatever they can to avoid the fact they are going to die. Death is what motivates religion, because it provides a veil that presents itself as an escape to reality.
