  • My dear, dear son Matthew took his life on Jan.15th, 2009 at the age of 25. This song was his High School Grad theme song. Also danced the last waltz with my son at a dear friend's wedding to this song. This is the song we played as his casket was taken out of the church the day we had to say goodbye to Matt on this earth. It's so him. Thank you for this.

  • D+++++++++++++++

  • Probably one of the greatest rock anthems ever written. You can't help but turn it up full blast

  • great voice!

  • I don't know. I only know what I don't want! The rest is fate;!

  • It pains me when people compare old classics to the new shit that comes flying these days, THIS is real music and comparing todays rnb, hiphop, rap & pop puts shame over music.. David coverdale is a better vocalist and has several times the stage presence than any new douchebag that tops the music charts these days..

  • @Bikehola AMEN!

  • @Bikehola About scene presence, saw Britney Spears live once. Last time i'll ever go to a non-rock-concert. Todays mainstream artists can't deliver.

  • @swedo88 Saw Whitesnake live in stockholm last year, and while Dave may have lost some of his vocal power he still puts on one hell of a show and does his best to please his loyal audience.. I've never been to a non-rock concert and I suppose I can't predict the future but at this point I have no interest whatsoever in going to one either ^.-

Ive grown up with rock and I'll die listening to the same classics \../,

  • @Bikehola I agree Coverdale is a great entertainer. Britney Spears was just for fun though, i'm a rocker to.

  • whats up with teenagers these days, im a teenager myself but this this right here is music, justin bieber, lady gaga, rihanna are ok BUT KIDS THIS IS MUSIC LISTEN TO IT

  • fuck hes an ugly cunt

  • @traffic200 when you are 50 plus years old i suppose you will be beautiful lmao

  • @traffic200 Yes, he´s ugly because you´re so f....blind you can´t see where his beauty is...

  • Long live Coverdale! Fuck Lennon!

  • this is soooooooooooooo bad ass

  • One of my favorite songs of all time !!

  • you kept me hanging on the promises and songs of yesterdays......thank you Sir

  • Saw them several times and they're always awesome. Dave's voice is still unbelievable and the band really kicks ass! Great music by great musicians!

    Thanks Whitesnake!

  • grande :)

  • every member in the band is a rare gem ! and Reb Beach is the master of tapping !

  • I think David Coverdale still has a pretty good and powerful voice whereas his predecessor in Deep Purple Ian Gillan has pretty much lost all his powerful vocal abilities.

  • This song has the power to make me feel powerful, and reminds me of a special girl

  • his voice may be better live than that of the studio!!! :P

  • this is incredible these guys haven't lost a step infact they might have gained one over the years

  • Singing this @ a karaoke bar totally got me laid, thanks Dave.

  • I aint waisting no more time (hearing modern day crap)

  • What the hell is wrong with people now?

Everyone seems to settle for the pre-manufactured crap and rubbish that is spewed out by the latest wannabe. When will people realise that this is real music made by real musicians that play their instruments and have a craft and skill for the art of making music

  • @jmcc42uk yes! you are 100% right!

  • @jmcc42uk sorry but shit like this killed rock music and let in that great voice of change punk..this was the most manufactured pap of the eighties...l mean in the name of god look at them!!!...LOOK AT THEM....

  • @jmcc42uk "google" for enos "rig" lol

  • @jmcc42uk That´s it my man, you surely got your head on the proper place...God bess you, man!

  • @jmcc42uk That´s it my man, you surely got your head on the proper place...God bless you, man!

  • @jmcc42uk Hey, my man! All the best for you and your career. You, surely got your head on the proper place...God bless you for the comment.

  • @jmcc42uk Hey, my man! All the best for you and your career. You, surely got your head on the proper place...God bless you for the comment.

    "I see...Said the blind..."

  • @jmcc42uk If you're talking about the shit that's on MTV and stuff, I honestly couldn't agree more. But some dubstep/DnB/house producers such as Skrillex and Deadmau5 actually make really good music that takes no less musical skill than rock and roll. Knowing how to play an instrument is a great skill, being a good producer is another.

  • @jmcc42uk Couldn't have said it better!

  • @jmcc42uk so true. a couple new bands are good too

  • @dannichls1

Depends on your definition of new, I haven't really found any bands from the past 10-15 years that I find worthwhile, perhaps with the exception of In Flames.

Whole bunch of 80's bands are good tho, Metallica f.e are my personal favorites & housegods.

  • @Bikehola Check out a band called All That Remains

  • @dannichls1 I've heard 'The Calling' & 'Not Alone', I can't say they're bad but they're a bit too much for me, i've never cared much for growling & screaming

  • @jmcc42uk The music industry is just a shell of it's former self, and they've

spent their efforts and $ for a long time now dumbing down the most recent

generations to accept acts like Bieber, Gaga, pre manufactured rap, etc. as

talent. It's really a shame, because if the youth of this country isn't exposed

to real music and real artists, they'll never recognize what it is. It's up to us

to try and show them the way. Once they're turned onto it, most end up loving

    it.

  • Muy buena!!! definitivamente esta cancion es la banda sonora de mi vida.... Withesnake grandeeeeeeee

  • Oh my God! He can't sing to save his life anymore, can he?

So sad, one the most beautiful voices around...

I guess that's waht cigarettes will do to ya :(

  • @marviosantos

i think the voice is gorgeous... were u listenin to an other song maybe?

  • @marviosantos

if it was for the cigarettes nobody could sing, gillan, dio, coverdale NOBODY,,, just like DSxxicy you´ve most have listen to another song...

  • simply excellent and beautiful song

  • Es q son los mejores!

  • Jesus Christ! David Coverdale has the face of Farrah Faucet. He looks older in that '83 live performance video. WTF did he recently get a facelift? I think the it affects the way he sings. WOW!

  • The live version from Donnington recorded in '83 beats the living shit out of this version. Check it out and compare it for yourself. The '06 version is Americanized. All the blues elements, in the original, have been bleached out completely thus sounds more shallow. In the original version, the musical arrangement, and overall mood of the song seem to fit together. The '06 version doesn't convey the same feeling of loneliness as the original. Besides the '83 band were way more talented.

  • Very nice!!!!!

  • gran voz, realmente potente

  • the bassist from this band plays for the blue oyster cult now I seen him at some fest playing with them...

  • If you allow German snitchers to infiltrate and subvert your country you may have to pay a price. Germany did not give up the idea of world control but changed its strategy from open fight to intruding other societies and extraction as much wealth as possible using all sort of dirty tricks including brainwashing. Check out my homepage.

BND snitchers are thumbing me down. Thumbs up if you want the German BND to stop systematic torture and assassination.

  • This band has so much power and energy. thank you david. 1987 san diego, ca

1988 whitesnake world tour and bad english

  • reminds me of my life

  • Coverdale still has his pipes here. So many older rock singers' vocals have gone to shit with age. For instance, check out recent performances by Sebastian Bach, Steve Perry, Mark Slaughter, or any number of other middle-aged singers who once had golden voices—it can be painful hear.

  • @Cigmcpuffy i watch bach live i can assure you're totally wrong

  • when was this concert ? what year

  • @0o0cnv0o0 2006 in london

  • i luv it :)

  • Check out 'Convalescence Kid: Nothing left to lose' This guy's pretty awesome!!

  • Sure Coverdale tried.....he succeeded into making a mid '80's "metal" band into a farce. What a great song for the lonely teenage girls. Hey, make a video (with whatever she was ) for the boys to jerk off to. WOW! Instant hit that killed "metal". Def Leppard did the same thing when they "Poured some Salt on my wound". Funny how MTV killed so much music....and yet they do';t play music now. It's just about a pregnant teen.....hmmmm, makes you wonder. Now I really do believe - kill your television

  • @DickLodge68 Kill your television? na, but we'd like to kill your ability to make moron comments... Dick... Lodge68

  • @dessertjeff Yeah, whatever...you can't make a sensible argument so just try to shut the other guy up. I get it. You adhere to every nuance of a typical liberal.

  • @DickLodge68 ur a moron? genuinely were u speaking english there?

  • @gobbychard "Ur a moron"? I have no clue what you are talking about as I didn't say that.

  • @MissVictoriaFord You are absolutely right! No one made me the Holy Judge of rock music, it's my opinion. It's my opinion, by your comments, that you're an asshole with bad taste...I'm just kidding. Why do people take it so personally? Did you write these songs? Both Whitesnake and Dep (?) Leppard had promising starts until they commercialized themselves into MTV whores. There is music for the masses and music for musicians, and that is a huge division. Again, that's just my opinion!

  • @MissVictoriaFord All good points! I want musicians to "refuse to follow along". I still hold hope with the internet as a spring-board (at the least) but you still need these huge corporations that dictate everything. If you think American Idol is tough...that's nothing compared to the suits in the music industry. It's really strange that MTV (Music TeleVision) rarely plays actual music videos anymore! WTF? I've been dying for this "reality" crap on TV to simply fade away like a bad memory.

  • Comment removed

  • @MissVictoriaFord Don't get me wrong...I love quirky, silly...even stupid music that is fun. For me, Whitesnake just isn't that. But then again, I'm a guy ...and didn't fall for the model, whatshername, because music is very important to me. But I like the fact you'd rather have '80s metal guys instead of the baggy-pants gang. I don't get your gay-phobia comment. Look at Rob Halford with his shaved head and well you know the rest. Anyway, you have some good points, we just don't agree.

  • Damn you cant find music like this anymore i wish i grew up in this era instead of this one wit people like justin biber the biggest fag in the music industryonly really good bands around today are aerosmith

  • Check out these two Irish dudes cover of im yours, its glam rock singing meets jason mraz...I challenge you not to enjoy it!!! Just type in "im yours cover alter ego"

  • @justainbeiberforking

U don't compare that fag with Whitesnake.

The only people worthy are people like The Clash

  • That has got to be 1 of favorite songs.

  • wow
