  • you have to land heavy in LXGB , not even 2000 meters of runway.. crazy airport!

  • i disliked this cuz it was to long

  • I've landed heavier than that when going to gibraltar :p

  • I once flew into here with a 100mph crosswind around the rock. Needless to say we spent the night in tangier.

  • @rodjames98 I've made the trip many times but not yet been diverted, I quite fancy a trip to Tangier.

  • @kksf9018 Yeah its just pot luck really? it was in january way back in 1987 I think? it was a britannia 737/200, and we made 3 attempts to land, on the 3rd the captain decided it was too dangerous and diverted to tangier. Holiday memories that tend to stick with you forever.

  • Great video!

  • crazy airport

  • Bang "Shit!"

  • landing on runway 09 is the best

  • @Skybluesam94 Runway 27 is the one in the video, i've been there a few times but never on 09, i'm out there again soon hopefully i'll get lucky and get a video of 09.

  • amaze video !

  • heavy landing! that is nothing compared to some flights that come into Gib!!!!

  • @gusandali Heavy by Gatwick standards.

  • FYI spain has been allowing a/c into their airspace for the last 2 years

  • @driver7125 No they Don't

  • What does it mean by heavy landing? Is it when the plane is carrying full passengers?

  • @Guywhowearsunderwear Heavy landing is when the aeroplane touches ground very hard during landing.

  • This is one of the hardest airports to land at, All planes from the UK are banned from using spains airspace, so they land from one direction where the rock is! and the cross winds created from the rock and surrounding areas can make it pretty tricky! Glad its not me landing it............

  • @Bezwaldo1 It always amazes me how they manage to stop in time. They must have big plans for the Airport as a new terminal is under construction.

  • @kksf9018 There not expanding at all there is only a few flights a day

  • @Bezwaldo1 we are aloud to go into spanish air spaace now and have been for around 2 years

  • @Bezwaldo1 Planes take off and land into the wind thats why they land in that direction.

  • @Bezwaldo1 no they land on the other side too

  • Ive been there loads!

  • prudential ;D

  • what is this plane?

  • AIRBUS A319

  • @WDUARTE2704 This is an ex GB A320

  • @Cantabron112 A320 V2570's

  • Perfect landing for Gib, not heavy at all.

  • The only way EZY got into Gibraltar was by buying GB from BA - and if I am right, BA had to concede LGW-GIB to EZY and they're starting LHR T3 (ouch) to GIb instead!

  • lol 1:04 'shit' lol

  • Very well observed, did you hear the seat springs? It was a heavy landing!.

  • Not Sainsburys. Surely you mean Safeways (before the takeover)?

  • I shall be there in October.

  • It's always a very hard landing.

I go today and i'm crapping myself!

  • Have a great time, i'll be out there soon.

  • that was a bloody hard landing!!

landed a bit late though... which was a shame!

  • Nice, I love Gibraltar airprot! :)

  • man that was a hard touchdown LMAO!

  • I work for one of the other Supermarkets..

  • great airport I just wish BA still did the heathrow to Gib service this was so easy

  • This flight was Gatwick - Gib, with about 15 people on board, like being in a private jet.

  • sounded like quite a heavy landing too

  • The Heathrow-Gib route is resuming very soon.

  • Heathrow to Gib sounds great, I would like to see a London City to Gib route.

  • I would say thats highly unlikely to happen.

  • Only by private jet!

  • The heathrow to Gibraltar route is starting on the 25th of October with BA if I am correct, and I cant wait they should have never got rid of it in first place it was a great route.

  • It's not really a holiday destination, but for me it's the nearest airport to where my Sister lives.

  • God I haven't been to Gib in years :D Is is still grotty or has it cleaned up it's act?

  • It's still grotty.Did you go up the rock?

  • Yeah my aunty used to live in Buena Vista.

  • No, I can honestly say that Gibraltar has vastly improved in the last 10 years. I should know because I was born there and still regularly visit my family. Yes, the upper areas are a complete dump (castle ramp and above estates etc) but you wouldn't believe how much the tourist experience has improved. Casemates has been transformed too and is the main area for bars and restaurants.
