Each Dance has a meaning to it, you cannot take bits&pieces of a dance and bastardize to make a new modern dance!Learn the history, teach it correctly!This is an embarassment to our ancestors!
to the morons who think they know everything...we do actually know exactly where our costumes come from and what the dances mean, this was our last dance in our performance for our church that did by combining our favorite dances together for aesthetic purposes only...oddly enough u can greek dance for the fun of it and thats precisely what we were doing, u obviously have way too much free time to make fun of a bunch of kids for doing what they like
First of all, no one is making fun of these kids, it is called constructive critisicm. And considering your age my dear,respond with respect, both Diamando & i have been instructors and students in professional&traditional Greek Dance Troupes for the last 14 years. Recreating a new choreography or 'figoura' to any traditional dances is more justifiable and beautiful than the mambo! Just a thought...either you can accept critisicm or take down your video,cuz not everyone will have nice comments.

It IS an embarrassment to our ancestors because every dance & step has a historical significance, and the ignorance falls on the your dance instructors (look up the definition)... Again, if you cannot take critical comments remove your video. As i'm not supposed to be impressed by your video you need not be happy with any critical comments.

I can handle bad comments. When they make sense. There is no reason for bad comments to be made on a video like this one. I could understand some constructive criticism maybe if the steps were obviously wrong but again...for the thousandth time. this dance was made for fun! there is no harm in that whatsoever! no distrespect! just kids having fun doing something they love!

1) I didn't make up the dance I just video taped it.
2) for goodness sakes, they're just kids.
3) they no the language and tradition. They just decided to do this for fun. NO ONE IS MOCKING GREEK HERITAGE.

They practice a lot. This dance though was thought up by two of the dancers, one of them being my sister. They learned it in one day.

Yeah it is hard. They took a whole bunch of steps from many other dances and incorperated them into the song.
