Use a torch instead of that crappy disposable lighter, you'll have better heat control for a more even finish and there's far less chance of creating melt marks on the sole.
Stuck in NJROTC for the rest of the year, not what I expected. -___- Thanks for the video though, it'll come in useful since I'll be making up uniform days all of next week...
i tried to do this before i saw this vid and i went to blow it out and its spread all over my shoes and it melted a hloe in my toecaps didnt here theend of it
Good video—when I was in JROTC at Leilehua (Oahu) a few years back I wore high gloss low quarters so I didn't have to spend hours shining. Now I'm a correctional officer in Georgia having to shine my footwear for the first time. It sucks but I'm picky about my appearance. Thanks.
This video was very helpful. I cut my shoe shine time by a huge difference, thank you so much for making a video like this. Great, effective technique for sure!
@broadme your dreaming air force is better do you have discos and stuff when you go camping do you get to go in hornets and spit fighter jets yer bitch
@smithyboi6 I wouldn't be so sure, every ex army male I know is a man whore :O Also After polishing my boots like this I am going to put a little vid up to show the results with better lighting conditions.
@smithyboi6 Lol! That's true. I'm a Senior in Highschool and (long story) I go to school with my boyfriend now :) He's an AFJ Cadet - apart from our 9th/10th grade years were are Army Juniors and for me, 11th grade I was Navy Junior. I've transferred schools quite a lot :P but. I must say I prefer Navy out of all of them.
Before the states Drill Meet at Mundy Mill's High School, our Corp Commander (who was my roommate, this was before C/Col Nikki Taylor became Corp Commander), used this technique
@littlemontev Hahah Im in NJROTC and for the most part agree with what you said, cept for the Marine and Army part. Otherwise yeah, AF and CG Jrtotc's suck :D

@doctorx777 You don't want to do that. It burns off the contents of the polish and you'll eventually be left with dry, clumpy polish that does nothing. The best way to do it is just fire shine light coat after light coat. It takes a while but it works well.
also for a even better result i would recommend to apply the boot polish and light it about 6 times when applying first apply using circular rotation then the 2nd time apply in stripe motion also when this is done parade gloss straight after is recommended :) jkhh good advice m8 :)
thanks ive been normal polishing shoes for like 3 weeks and now i got this, tnx but i gotta learn to do the fire method thanks again and i will salute you :)
fire may help out in the short run, but if you live in any cold area, like new england, your shoes are going to crack during the winter. fire will fuck up your shoe so dont do this unless you want to keep buying new leathers
fire may help out in the short run, but if you live in any cold area, like new england, your shoes are going to crack during the winter. fire will fuck up your shoe so dont do this unless you want to keep buying new leather
ur fukin stupid dude, fire will only make it lok good, but i bet by the time its the end of the year ur gonna need a new pair, fire damages the shoe and when the polish comes off it look bad, and then more time will be needed to polish it
An enhancement of your technique..Before you start,,get sink water hot and hold the shoes under and rub dirt away and melt old polish with the hot water.Blow water off and then begin polishing and of course melt it in with lighter...After doing the "spit shine" you reverse and turn sink on cold ..Then hold shoes one at a time under it and rub out swirls with wet cotton balls..Blow excess water away..The final is to take "Glowcoat" floor wax or any clear liquid floor wax and apply with cotton.
if you want an ultimate shine get a 100 percent fine cotton cloth and a tub of standard kiwi and a tub of gloss prestige and first if there new add aproxx 10 base coats of standard kiwi then bull for 2 coats then move onto parade gloss and bull for aproxx 20 coats then add normal kiwi and leave overnight then get tights and start to bull with them for just that coat then bull for 2 coats with gloss prestige and for a really good shine get some clear polish and add that on top its like glass
Or instead of being lazy and taking the easy way out you can go out, get a kiwi cloth and polish with polish only. When you burn the polish you burn oils that are used to moisturize the leather and add to the shine. If you do it the proper and hard way.. you will be able to see yourself in the shine. Try it in another video and you'll see the results.
Okay, ive been testing this method and ive found its great for getting the finishing shine on the shoes, but you need loads of "bulled in" layers of polish for this to work.

u still didnt finish filling in the leather...and its not YOUR method..iv being doing it at military school for 4 years and my grandfather used it in the navy. dont claim something thats not yours. especially when your not good at it.
