  • Use a torch instead of that crappy disposable lighter, you'll have better heat control for a more even finish and there's far less chance of creating melt marks on the sole.

  • Good video—when I was in JROTC at Leilehua (Oahu) a few years back I wore high gloss low quarters so I didn't have to spend hours shining. Now I'm a correctional officer in Georgia having to shine my footwear for the first time. It sucks but I'm picky about my appearance. Thanks.

  • thanks a ton for the help! This made my shoes like 10x shinier :D

  • DO NOT apply heat to your shoes! After you wear them once or twice the wax will crack and then your shoes will be ruined.

  • YOUNG MARINES FTW!

  • I'm in the ATC and my shoes are alot better, trust me

  • @smithyboi6 I wouldn't be so sure, every ex army male I know is a man whore :O Also After polishing my boots like this I am going to put a little vid up to show the results with better lighting conditions.

  • @smithyboi6 Lol! That's true. I'm a Senior in Highschool and (long story) I go to school with my boyfriend now :) He's an AFJ Cadet - apart from our 9th/10th grade years were are Army Juniors and for me, 11th grade I was Navy Junior. I've transferred schools quite a lot :P but. I must say I prefer Navy out of all of them.

  • damn noob the proper way to do it is to light up the kiwi polish in container then apply the wax on the shoe then buff it out till it shines minus the water and cotton just use the sock or shirt though..--when u are a teenager you think u know everything --good try kid but no cigar. sorry

  • my shoe caught on fire!!!

  • thx for this :D will be promoting in 5 days to lance corporal :P

  • AFJROTC?

  • A safer method is to light the polish in the container and spread the liquid. The fire never hits the shoe.

  • @doctorx777 You don't want to do that. It burns off the contents of the polish and you'll eventually be left with dry, clumpy polish that does nothing. The best way to do it is just fire shine light coat after light coat. It takes a while but it works well.

  • Im Sorry. But this does ruin your shoes over time if you use this method all the time. but it works.

  • also for a even better result i would recommend to apply the boot polish and light it about 6 times when applying first apply using circular rotation then the 2nd time apply in stripe motion also when this is done parade gloss straight after is recommended :) jkhh good advice m8 :)

  • thanks ive been normal polishing shoes for like 3 weeks and now i got this, tnx but i gotta learn to do the fire method thanks again and i will salute you :)

  • Awh snap dude, thanks ^.^

    Go Navy :D

  • YHANKS! :D I didn't knew it was so simple and took less than 5 minutes...

    Thank You very much :D

    Joey

  • fire destroy leather;(((

  • i fucked up my boots using this method :( it wont shine now. i swear..... im not trying to make your page look bad or anything.

  • fire may help out in the short run, but if you live in any cold area, like new england, your shoes are going to crack during the winter. fire will fuck up your shoe so dont do this unless you want to keep buying new leather

  • and also make sure wat ever u use like cotton balls or pads or watever make sure its clean like no dirt on them coz it will scratch ur shoe

  • In a tin of KIWI (older) I just flame the bottom of the tin and apply more as a liquid, applys real smooth, then proceed to the buffing.

  • look up "bull you shoes" this method ruins the leather the riht way takes alot longer but doesnt damage the shoes

  • @LoNeCr1T93 lol. Its his choice what...

  • ur fukin stupid dude, fire will only make it lok good, but i bet by the time its the end of the year ur gonna need a new pair, fire damages the shoe and when the polish comes off it look bad, and then more time will be needed to polish it

  • Dude!!! You in Pueto Rico huh? I can hear the coquí. God!!! I miss that music of the night....

  • @NintendoIVLife

Could be in Hawaii, there are coqui there now.

  • @NintendoIVLife Nope its hawaii lol

  • An enhancement of your technique..Before you start,,get sink water hot and hold the shoes under and rub dirt away and melt old polish with the hot water.Blow water off and then begin polishing and of course melt it in with lighter...After doing the "spit shine" you reverse and turn sink on cold ..Then hold shoes one at a time under it and rub out swirls with wet cotton balls..Blow excess water away..The final is to take "Glowcoat" floor wax or any clear liquid floor wax and apply with cotton.

  • ill be to scared to do this method

  • NEVER USE A FUCKING FLAME IT WILL FUCK YOUR SHOE UP JUST JUST HAVE PASHONES

  • OH MY!! I will definitily use it!, and upload a video response.

  • if you want an ultimate shine get a 100 percent fine cotton cloth and a tub of standard kiwi and a tub of gloss prestige and first if there new add aproxx 10 base coats of standard kiwi then bull for 2 coats then move onto parade gloss and bull for aproxx 20 coats then add normal kiwi and leave overnight then get tights and start to bull with them for just that coat then bull for 2 coats with gloss prestige and for a really good shine get some clear polish and add that on top its like glass

  • just wondering does it have to be a certain type of leather to get the shoe to be that shiny. why don't you use kiwi pride gloss prestige

  • hey, thank for this method, i'm getting enrolled tomorrow, so i want my shoes really shiney :) oh and you sound like that Microsoft Sam guy... :D

  • the cadet in mt school are idiots the burn there shoes trying to do this

  • your using so much fire.. bet the cracked up on you lol

  • Or instead of being lazy and taking the easy way out you can go out, get a kiwi cloth and polish with polish only. When you burn the polish you burn oils that are used to moisturize the leather and add to the shine. If you do it the proper and hard way.. you will be able to see yourself in the shine. Try it in another video and you'll see the results.

  • Okay, ive been testing this method and ive found its great for getting the finishing shine on the shoes, but you need loads of "bulled in" layers of polish for this to work.

    Thanks for the help (:

  • I was told that the heat opens the pours in the leather and helps bond the wax to the shoe so it doesn't come off as easily.

  • im sorry they didn't give us tampons to shine our shoes with in bootcamp

  • Is it me or does this guy sound alot like Microsoft Sam?

  • @Edwardo1993 lol

  • it dosnt work

it justt melts the polish u hav put on previous times matee

  • u still didnt finish filling in the leather...and its not YOUR method..iv being doing it at military school for 4 years and my grandfather used it in the navy. dont claim something thats not yours. especially when your not good at it.

  • @gavin0nelson you, sir, are a dick. by him saying its his method he means its the one he uses, dumbass.

  • that's good stuff. I'll be using this method. I have inspections tomorrow. lol btw, are you filipino? :)

  • just bull parade shoes the old origional way until you get a good shine then add kiwi dark tan in small layers in the same way and you will have an amazing shine. Then to get it even better just like glass water bull your shoes but you have to watch a video on how to do that because its complicated.

  • My brothers used to use a similar method, he used to put the polish on and then use a hot table spoon and run over the polished areas and then shin up just as you did, with good results !!! have you tried that method?

  • well i'm going to be trying this way

  • wow just finished waching the video and holy crap thats hell of shiny, equivalent to me shining my shoes with twelve coats of polish

  • i've shined my shoes other ways but this looks easiest

  • cheers for this upload ;) got inspection friday so i'll br using this method :P

  • glad to know someones using my method :)

  • @xxkano07xx In my Det last inspection, I didn't pass c'uz of my shoes... :(

Hey When we tired to do the ORI, it's started Raining lol and we got all wet, and you could see POC mad about it and yelling Cadets and Flight Commanders, saying it was our fault lol, Totally Bad management of time and prevention, I mean if the POC in charge just look the forecast channel of the day, this could got avoided, but no, remember is our fault, cadets fault lol :D

And yeah the Shined shoes, became wet ones
