Gerry has one of the most powerful metal voices ever and was one of the most underrated vocalists ! They wrote some great music but seeing them live was and even better treat ! Except for the poser bassist , butshakers belong in nightclubs not on stage!
Hey StrangeClueless Friday or what ever!!! Regardless of how the guitarist Honed his Skills It was the 80's & We don't SEE anything from your Lame Collection of Tripe so Before you JUDGE others Learn to Respect your Elders... Or as we said in the 80's Go F__ckyourself You LOOSER!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!
The guitarist MUST pose in front of a mirror for hours to get the "pretentious moves" right.. LMAO.. looks SO fucking lame that its almost embarrassing to watch
@timjay71 well my uncles the drummer, hes still around hamilton. Ancaster.. sorry i cant give oyu the adress dont want him gettin mobbed . I think the other guys are still around their too:P they were at my grandads funeral.. pretty sick :P
lol i seen these guys in 86 in a little town called sundridge in ontario. population 1000. it was brutal!!!! but still like some of there tunes!! jack is back was a good one.
Man i remember when i looked like that back in the 80's...i am 45 now but back in those days the longer your hair and the more permed out it was the more popular you were...seems so corny now but it was cool then!
@MrAzzMazta May i make a suggestion, when you've gone through puberty and left junior school you may want to go out and buy some decent f*ckin music and not the modern pop shit that is all we music fans seem to be stuck with these days. If you don't like it f*ck off and don't listen..
Superb never heard them before can anyone name more bands like these ?? Which came during 80s as lot of them are still unexplored since there were many which did not came into limelight like the other progressive rock bands of 80s. those times rule 80s rock was by far the best
This band came up with a song "Outlaw" it was a good some too! This was one of those Canadian Bands then just needed a little push! Too bad they are not together! They were cool!
How did you get away with that as your youtube name? The reason I ask is because this dude I know Fat Aussie Barstard couldn't have the word Bastard in his name. Just curious...
Saw them at Copps Colosium when they opened for Boston 20 years ago. Before the show I told my friends how awesome Brighton Rock would be and then I was totally embarrassed during their show which was absolutely horrible. Worst band I ever heard live but I still like many of their songs.
Brighton Rock is fantastic. And while I love the three records, I feel they never quite captured how incredible the band is, live. Nor did the albums reflect how heavy the group could be.
P.S. Someone needs to remaster and re-release the debut. The CD is WAY too quiet.
NOOOO....don't remaster it! Quiet is good, it means it's not compressed! If they made it 'louder' they would compress the hell out of it destroying dynamic range. Just turn your volume knob up!
Uh, no, it is too quiet. Hey, I hate oversompression and the ensuing lack of sonic dynamics as much as the next audiophile, but the debut needs to be reworked.
And as it turns out, I spoke recently with members of the band, and yes, there was an error with Young, Wild and Free's pressing to CD. Apparently what was given for transfer to compact disc was the un-EQed version of the album. The wrong version, in other words.
In proper hands, this record could be amazing on disc, sonically.
Alright fair enough! Usually when people these days say they want an album louder, they mean they want the cd to sound like their new overcompressed Linkin Park album. The Loudness Wars need to end someday!
Yes, the "loudness wars" are mega crappy. You will get no argument from me, friend. I have more than a few CDs in my collection that are almost ruined from too much compression. As usual, humans take something that is good, and exploit it until it becomes BAD. All my discs from when CDs first became available still sound superior to those I bought post, say, late 90s.
Peaks and valleys is where it's at. Dynamics. Stereos have a volume knob for a reason, after all.
Saw Brighton Rock in Sydney (Centre 200)in 1986 or 87 can't remember. They opened up for Triumph, first concert I saw. It blew my fucking mind.I'll never forget it.Wish they would do a new album. Great Band!
I saw them in buffalo in 87 and they were amazing. I really thought these guys had a chance with his voice being just different enough to stand out in a crowd, but, they never got the break they deserved. Anyone remember actor and ben hatzel? thanks for the memories.
@Sadwalkers I don't know, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga seem to be showing progress in writing their own music, they seem to be getting better at playing guitar than 80s metal bands already!
@MrAzzMazta r u kidding? 80s metal band guitar players had so much control and knowledge over there instruments, most of them were classically trained in the instruments. Very technically advanced
@MrAzzMazta are you comparing talentless pop to hair metal? Your nuts to even say Perry and Gaga can play like any of the 80s metal bands because they cant! Thats an insult to the real metal fans out there and to the people who still listen to real music and not different new pop acts of a decade. Get off the metal and stick with your lady gayga crap.
I really miss the 80`s and the hairbands!!! Music was so awesome back then. I totally forgot about these guys, I am in 7th heaven to listen to it again...Canadian music was amazing then, just finished listening to some Harem Scarem :-)
Lead Singer Gerry Mcgee I great freind.. I am glad that you posted this video.. It's to bad that WEA Records Drop this bad..Just shows you any record company that burns bands
I can recall Muchmusic playing this over and over again.Back when music was cool! Now they play the same garbage over and over again! Music aint what it use to be!
