I saw one of these get hit from the side and rolled over today at work. Spun like a top. Both side airbags were deployed, and the people had their seatbelts on. They were fine, just a couple of scrapes. The fucking scary thing is that I was JUST thinking today that there had never been a major accident in that intersection before, and a couple of hours later there was. I'm going to see if I can get the security cam footage to upload here to youtube.
i don't like that the side curtain airbags do not fully cover the front windows, they are made for the most common position one's head would be in during a collision. Accidents are unpredictable, all are different

This SUV saved my sister's life. She hit a semi going 55 on an off ramp. The Nissan did what it was suppose to do and she walked away.

It's Frontal Crash.. so Side Airbag doesn't even need to be deployed in fact.
The size of the Side Airbag should be enough to protect the driver when crashed from beside..
