I worked, at the time, for the company that provided the special eye glasses and sunglasses for STS 114, and up to STS 121, as well as the ISS missions. that, to me, was an experience of a lifetime!!!! NASA's doc sent me the pair of Adidas sunglasses that were stored next to the observation window on the shuttle. Talk about COOL????
I witnessed this launch live from the Causeway at Cape Canaveral back in 2005. Took almost 25 years for me to finally see a Shuttle launch in person. I will never forget the sound, the vibration, or how bright the deep orange flames were right after liftoff. It was so clear that day that it was visible for almost a good 4 minutes from the ground. Truly an incredible sight to behold!
