  • usted save como en que presio estan esas camaras,

  • when i look through the viewfinder i see stuff but its all outlined in black and white what is this?

  • i have the same camera but i don't when i came to record a video i see white with black lines >>

    please help me

  • @ramiadamidris Probably bad capacitors.

  • @vwestlife ok now what to do can i fix it by my self

  • @ramiadamidris Unless you know how to solder tiny electronic components, you can't.

  • @vwestlife tanx for helping but i don't know to solder a tiny electronic but i will take to sony store if they can fix it its ok if they can't i will buy a new one >>

  • how much do u think i could get for one of these

  • tengo una la vendo,

  • I got one similar to this, but made by Kyocera. It looks a lot like this camera. All I need is a Hi8 tape!

  • I have a CCD-F501. I've looked everywhere and went to a local camcorder repair store but nobody seems to know what the problem is. All my tapes were playing perfectly a year ago and then it started to get fuzzy. I tried a tape cleaner but it just stopped playing all together and gave me an eject symbol. I think it might be the heads but I don't know what to do about it. Can you help me?

  • How much is it going for now?

  • those duracell batteries are the same as the ones on my VHS camcorder

  • i have just got this camera and i want to use it for skating vids but i dont know how to upload them onto the computer for editing and stuff.

  • @TheWoody2shoes It's called a flipping CAPTURE CARD. Get one!

  • if you look on the dv films channel they filmed some of the hi-8 stuff witht this, just saying

  • Unfortunately most the sony Hi8 camcorders from this era will have bad capacitors, and in some case damages the traces on the PCB board. If you are looking for a Hi8 go with a Samsung or Sony from 1998 and up, plus you get a firewire port. Going to recap mine anyways, will do a video on how to change surface mount components without needed special equipment. Just be careful on uying older camcorders on eBay, chances are a seller will sell them as "mint condition" but untested and won't work.

  • @armadillodude2992

I had to pry out the tape frame from the sides after unscrewing the door.. Worked out OK but I almost damaged the tape as I think the play head was engaged. I had to manually reattach the plastic door that covers the tape. Worked out OK. If I were to do again I would have sliced open the back with a steel cutting disc in a drill.\\Good luck.

  • I have a tape stuck in one of these. It won't power up and eject the tape. Any ideas on removing it manually?

    Many thanks in advance!

  • @86BBUB I have the same problem..... let me know if you figure it out! :)

  • My parents had a cam simlar to that. I think my dad bought it in 1990. It was pretty good, but it got thrown away from over the years it was in the bag and got damaged.

  • I have a video on the CCD-VX3 pro version

  • i do wish i could find one that has an in and out both so that way i could use it as a vcr as well. most cams i have found only playback out rather then in and out both. i have one of shaps last viewcams that has the screen on the back as the viewfinder and the screen. it is a mini dv cam which is nice. the only way i can record onto it is through the firewire input through a computer from a video editing program otherwise it only has video out and not in :(

  • I have this exact model but the tape mechanism is not functioning. =(

  • It looks a lot like an Apache helicopter!! may be the designers of the apache took it from sony

  • I actually bought two of these brand new back in 1990 ($2000 each), and BOTH units had lots of reliability problems from the start. On the first one the CCD had dead pixels more and more everyday. Was repaired under warranty by Sony (replaced the CCD). But after the warranty expired (1 year) the dead pixels came back, and the video head amp was busted. The second one refused to power-up completely after the warranty. Both units were handled with extra care by myself. These are junk from Sony.

  • Work on that model, it's bad capacitor's around the capston drive, you will etheir get a eject error or bad video recording, can be fixed, if you have a decent soldering iron. Fixed mine a little over a year ago, there are very good for lowlight projects. One way to find out if it's the heads is to playback the tape , if audio is fine then it's the video heads are shot.

  • yeah i just saw it earlier and i just didnt come back and deleted my earlier post. do you have any tips on getting an old camcorder? im looking for sony handycams but i don't know where to look and what should i look for if i do find one say at the blackmarket or so because their are flaws if it is being sold for a low price.

  • @BshizzleFilms The main objective is to find one that works! Older camcorders unfortunately have a very high failure rate due to bad capacitors. Even one that has been sitting in the box for the past 20 years and never used could still be bad, because the capacitors leak and dry out regardless of how much the camcorder was used over the years.

  • @BshizzleFilms 'Black market's are markets that are illegal like prostitution and drugs. Buying an old camera isn't illegal.

  • does that work?

  • No. See my video "End of the Sony Hi8 Handycam saga".

  • how much do these cost?

  • A working one can go for quite a bit of money. Unfortunately, most late '80s and early '90s camcorders are no longer working properly due to bad capacitors.

  • so how did you upload footage to a computer with this camcorder? I have a apple ibook laptop and i would like to get onto imovie, is that possible? sorry I'm not very knowledgable on camcorders and i'm trying to see if i should buy a sony ccd-vx3 or a sony vx1000, how do they compare as far as uploadability?

  • @PJLaddSiting You need a video capture device. There are many different ones available.

I would not buy an old early to mid '90s camcorder. They usually don't work anymore due to bad capacitors. Look for one no more than 10 years old.

  • @vwestlife ok thanks, i was also considering a canon gl1, any thoughts?

  • @PJLaddSiting Sorry, I am not an expert, and I don't know the details on every camcorder ever made. There are plenty of good resources out there, and please feel free to research them for yourself.

  • No the gl1 can break very easy i have a vx2000 but the vx1000 is a great 3 chip camcorder Also the vx700 is a great 1chip camcorder you might want to concider the gl2 also

  • @PJLaddSiting Nice 3CCD camcorder.

  • Too bad it didn't worked in the end... this is very similar to the old Handycam I have, but your has a bigger lens assembly and the accessory shoe is on the mic, on my camcorder it's sitting on the housing. Also, mine is only Video8 and Mono.

  • ok sorry for my bad english but i have a question. i have a sony ccd - tr65e and it saves the vids on tapes. but i want to have the vid, i´ve filmed, on the computer. how can i do this?

  • You basically have two options:

    1. Get an analog video capture device for your computer, and connect your camcorder's video and audio outputs to it while playing the tape, so that the computer will capture the video.

    2. Get a DVD recorder, and use it to record video from the camcorder onto a DVD-R. Then just take the DVD you recorded and copy the video files from it on your computer's DVD drive (if you have one installed).

  • thank you

  • I highly recommend Canopus AVDC100 which delivers high quality footage.

  • hey! I don't mean to be "that guy" but I have a ccd tr72 works fine and i have about 6 tapes, how much do you think that's worth?

  • If it is really working fine, then maybe around $100... higher if you have all the original manuals and accessories.

  • I have a fish eye but that's about it, and one of the visual plugs is acting funny.

  • man sony must of had a weird model numbering system i just got a sony ccd-v110 (its a higher number then that but it was made in 9/1986). i got it at goodwill for 10 bucks it needs some cleaning and a little plastic repair in the handle but it works very well just need batteries(and charger maybe goodwill put them some where ) (it came with the power adapter)

wtf sony is it smaller model number = newer i guess

  • can you put on youtube and edit does it have good quality?

  • I don't have this camcorder anymore. I had to return it because it wasn't working correctly.

  • What brand is that big battery?

  • I don't remember; I returned this camcorder to the seller because I couldn't get it to work right. All the batteries it came with were basically dead anyway.

  • I just bought a 1985 Sony CCD-V8, the first Video 8 camcorder. It's actually quite similar, but it doesn't look as streamlined as this one. Mine doesn't have any of the modern stuff, and the zoom is only 6x. A friend of mine has a 1994 HandiCam that still has the B/W viewfinder!

  • great video keep going this great work

  • i was searching in the basement for stuff and i found this and i was wondering how to get the videos on a computer. please help!

  • You need a video capture device for your computer. Or, you can hook up the camcorder to a DVD recorder, record the video to a DVD, then copy the video onto your computer from the disc, if it has a DVD drive.

  • Please post some Footage!

  • See the response video. I don't have this camcorder anymore because it did not work properly.

  • i might get this one on monday and i could post some

  • Thatll be great!

  • does it only have black and white play back?

  • Because it was broken, most likely due to bad capacitors. Thankfully the eBay seller I got it from agreed to take it back for a refund.

  • How much was it?

  • I don't remember.

  • nice!! all manual is way better than that crap they sell now...

  • I have an extremely similar one from 1992.

  • Yes, a black & white CRT.

  • be care full with it the capacitors in it becomes after few years defective dont put it in the rid few guys who can care on you should search like me ^^

  • nice man!
