  • They aren't handfed or handraised. I simply tamed them to a certain level.

To introduce them it helps a lot if either both are really young, or none of them is too much younger than the other.

Also, I recommend moving a new pair to a cage which is foreign for both of them for a 1-2 weeks. If one gets used to being alone in its own cage, it will protect it from intruders.

  • Are these birds both handfed? If so, I was wondering how you introduced them to each other. I have a handfed female and a handfed male, but the female attacks him whenever I put them together.

  • I heard that those type of cages are bad for the birds but it takes a lonh time to take affect.

  • @darkiller177 Thanks for letting me know. Can I ask what you mean on "those type"? The cage was custom built, and this type of grid is commonly used for aviaries here.

  • Hi i was just wondering about the diet of lovebirds. do they need special lovebird food or can they just eat budgie food, e.t.c.? also, what human food do they need? thanks

  • @animallovercharlie They eat more fruits and vegetables, than budgies, and their diet may contain sunflower seeds as well. At most pet stores you can find special food for lovebirds. If by any chance they don't have it, cockatiel food should be fine, but offer them apples, carrots and sprouts regularly.

  • your cage looks like its made out of chicken wires for chicks. hmm.... wonder if i could do that too...

  • my Fischers doesnt like millet and mine i think is golden millet it looks like really bright brown it doesnt look like that

  • hi every1 i just got 1 lovebird today and hes really scared and tips to start off a good trust?

  • all birds LOVE millet

  • can i feed budgies with millet

  • yeah you can

  • thnx

  • Sure you can. They'll love it.

  • Difference is in the colors of the feathers and the beaks and the eye-rings.

Fischers are white eyeringed and usually red beaked. Peachfaced don't have eyering or (it's not too visible) and the have yellowish beaks.

The difference other than the appearance is the is the original living area and for example the nest material gathering habit. Maybe they have some difference in their voice as well, but if you keep both species like I do they learn from each other, so I cannot tell.

  • how do u tell the difference?

  • what are the differences between fischers and peachfaced, other than appearance?

  • I am gonna get a fischer.They are so cute. :3

  • Can't help but love lovebirds. Especially, the Fischers.
