Teasing & hairspray is bad. You can have volume by using your hair straightener and pulling it up everythime you straight a piece of hair. It will give you the exact same result.

Not to be rude or mean but just as a little hint... Your eyes are too vivd to have such light blonde hair. It makes you look deathly pale and makes your face look unbalanced. I would suggest either a more dirty blond or return to brown.

*facepalm* Hairspray is a FINISHING product, for when you are finished with the hair, having styling products in your hair ruins straighteners too .. I'd suggest a combination of teasing and using straigheners first to give volume and root direction and THEN use the hairspray to set the hair..

What? I teased my hair up all the time, with no products on it or anything at all. Here's how I got it: grind it around "heavy", you know strong and slow. Stick your hands in and raise them up. Hair stays up for a while, but do it all the time!

Big Sexy Hair has a really good root volumizer/booster too. Its about $20. I got it once when the Redkin stuff was sold out and now I usually get the Big Sexy Hair Stuff. I LOVE the smell. They also have a volumizing hair spray too, and its not sticky at all. :)

I love the Texas hair.

For hair spray I use one from Garnier Fructis Style Full control ultra strong aerosol spray. It has super hold but without the stickiness (both the look and feel of it) that can sprays give. I love it because of that and that it doesn't stink. :)

I know what you mean by more hair on one side because I have that as well (my bangs love going to one side more than another).

Use a razor blade to make the dirt on your heat plates, though only if it's like ceramic plates. If it's some other fabric, the razor blade can leave marks. D:
