Considering if you would, a situation where the conditions where exact for the performance of this particular piece of equipment. Would this type of equipment ride you out from an event? chem, bio, nuc or will it's use be to leave a threat area. Thanks

The filters that are 50 and 60 years old may contain asbestos. Fresh out of the factor they would have been safe to use. It is a safe material as long as it isn't cut, ripped, or damaged. There may still be some risk breathing through it because asbestos particles might have been knocked loose over the years and the carbon would probably catch them. But I wouldn't trust it. Just get a new one
Dude, the swiss will open and install the filter before they need it and the EXTRA filters are stored in their pods, and you will be using/wearing a functioning (although maybe decaying) filter on your mask while you cut open the new filter -preferably calmly using the scissors on your swiss army knife!

@everettbruno They don't sell fake stuff, but it could be unreliable or faulty. There's a reason why it's surplus. That or it's near the end of its life, but it could be extra surplus off the assembly and they're trying to get some money for it.
A lot of surplus also sell expired hardware, like masks that are 20-30 years old or older. Though I don't see much that can go wrong with this mask as long as it fits tightly to the face and has no holes in it. But a mask is only as good as its filter

Yes, after expiration the mask stops working, the mask itself however will not harm you because it is expired, but it also will no longer protect you from anything, hope that clears that up. Also the 8 hours is an aproximation, if you're somewhere where there is a shitload of gas it will be shorter.
If the filter is exceedingly expired, and it was exposed to PARTICULATE agents (which are not technically gasses, think smoke (or more likely deadly biological mists) then those particulate agents could still be caught in the filter in small ammounts and pulled through, however I havn't heard of any actual deaths from this though, usually you just notice it when you use a filter for tear gas and it expires because you get that tear gas tingle, but its like 1/100 as strong.

I have been looking for a good gas mask for air soft and i think this mask looks good for it. On eBay it says it provides eye, face and respiratory protection. The reason is is also in Russian is because that is just as much of a second language in Israel as English is. Many Russians moved to Israel from the Soviet Union, making Russian a major language in Israel.

It also depends on the chemical you're trying to filter out, But usually last up to a day
If it gets wet or blood on it it will not filter anything out,

Got one of these i thought it was german it had a price of 30 dollars one of the straps is broke but my friend is sending me replacement parts. The interesting thing is the filter is a civilian German ww2 filter. So i think i did ok.

The reason is is also in Russian is because that is just as much of a second language in Israel as English is. Many Russians moved to Israel from the Soviet Union, making Russian a major language in Israel.
