Here’s a logical explanation: in film actors usually wear makeup, sometime the makeup artist may choose to cove a marking (i.e. a mole) sometime during the filming the makeup gets rubbed off a bit and no one notices so half way through a film project the continuity go’s awry but it’s not a big enough deal to cost a reshoot so it gets left in. I hope this helps you to star sleeping nights again :)
