  • His hands like rubber

  • crossovers on the floor tom are OUTSTANDING!

  • That's my dad . - Ian Davis

  • my opinion ? Still nothing against Dave Haley from Psycroptic or Alexandre Pelletier from Despised Icon...

  • @TheMullenFan Sounds like you're not a drummer.

  • @MetalCamelChannel Im not..just my opinion ;)

  • @TheMullenFan And as a non-drummer, you obviously know who the better drummer is. Calling your statement an opinion just because you know you're wrong is quite a sad way to admit it. If my opinion would state that 1+1=3, would that draw the equation any closer to the truth? I don't think so.

  • is this all wrist?

  • @nickfizzle1212 Relax dude. It's a combination of wrist and fingers.

  • Hi Seth,

  • image him jerking off XD , i think he would pull his skin off XD

  • Exhorder teamed up with Seth Davis from Chris's recommendation and he is the permanent drummer now from what I hear. Exhorder and Seth are bad motherfuckers in their own right and bringing them together.... It will be brutal. ( I have studied with Seth and cant wait to see what is coming now that they are back 100% with him.) It is no wonder why Chris Nail recommended him.

  • i applaude your efforts seth. keep it coming

  • Know I´m a proud owner of Seth Davis amazing and absolutly mindblowing DVD "Insane single stroke rolls"... Seth Davis

  • I have a question about your snare.

I noticed you sit a little about your snare, Does that have any effect on your stick height or the leverage/power of your actual stroke?

  • Comment removed

  • csn someone slow it and brakethem down, ithink he using some doubles

  • you sure this isn't double stroke?!

  • Lol

  • Thanks to all who have supported this video along with my other uploads. I never expected 271,000+ views or 1000 comments when this was uploaded a few years back.

Congrats and welcome to all who joined the Insane Drummers mailing list.

    Seth Davis

  • Seth Davis is amazing and this is absolutely not the only thing he's good at. Check out his Insane Drum Clinic clip and you'll see what I mean.

  • jesus thats fast

  • You could kill someone with this video... Including my ego as well.

    Great singles, man!

  • Crikey, I thought something was about to explode!

  • I also just said goodbye to my precious Ego xD

  • They should put this guy on Time Warp =P

  • I wished I could play. My 10 year old can go . Check him out on my page and tell me what you think. Really my page is all about him. He has a ways to go. I will let him check out your page. Good stuff.

  • I dont like the sound of the snare in the beginning

  • Amasing, but mighty boring!

  • CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OUCH! My Ego Just Got shattered XD

  • Nice!

  • I bet he does insane blastbeats

  • he needs to have a metal-style video. i agree.

  • OWNAGE!!! GORE!! xD pawn man u pawn!

  • gravity blasts at 1:10 ftw

  • haha as great as it is, thats not gravity blasts, its all straight handed. he is amazing at things called mollar strokes hence the names.. look it up on vic firth's website, theres a whole tutorial. ill warn you know its very tough to get such great control on bothe hand... i can do it predominantly fast and im 15.... but i have not much control when using both hands and end up getting off time easily

  • this is my drum teacher i swear

  • and I thought tre cool was the fastest drummer.... Guess not

  • Bastard I hate him

I thought I had half decent technique

    Turns out not so much

  • Set Davis is a fine drummer and musician. He is helpful, polite, considerate, appreciative and a gentleman. His speed, finesse and power behind a set of tubs defies description. What a talent!!!!

  • @Flamsick is this all wrist or is he using fingers?

  • @Flamsick is this all wrist?

  • click clak!!!!

  • No he didn't moron. And it is "sped."

    You fail.

  • Damn...

  • You alien. Go back to your homeworld.

    He's clearly not human...

  • They weren't all single strokes. Maybe I'm just tired, but I could've sworn I saw some tom/snare sweeps and paradiddlediddles in the intro.

  • That is correct. The "rack" to snare sweeps are utlizing the double stroke roll. The snare to floor fast sweeps are single strokes. However, most everything else is a mixture and combination of the single & double stroke roll, straight/reversed and inverted paradiddles. Paradiddle diddles and many more of my own patterns. Also. Out of 262,939 views no one has caught on to the odd meter phrasing of the Single Stroke Roll at the very end.

    Seth Davis

  • hummingbird blood...gotta be.

  • This is excellent!! I'm actually impressed!

  • this is really boring however his really good.

  • Watching this video just depresses me. There is no way I'll ever be able to build single stroke chops like that! :-(

  • I'm thinking the same thing ;S

  • You are a moron. Neil should be Seth's drum tech. Neil could not get past one of Seth's complex "musical" fills and grooves let alone his double bass work.

And Neil is twice his age or more, food for thought son. Can you say overrated much.

Maybe Neil will buy Seth's program thats coming out to help undue what Freddie Gruber did with his hands. ha ha

    G

  • I hate to bash a drummer but Neil doesn't really have anything on pretty much anyone. haha

  • This isn't a drum solo dingus. It's a speed workout, meant to do probably an hr a day for about 5 years.

  • That is wicked. You are super fast. I can not wait to enjoy more of your videos. God bless you and your family.YOU ROCK!

  • Nice!

  • Holy shit this is insane!

  • excellent speed with not only the left hand, but with the right aswell!

  • I urge you all to check out xxdafreshxx (jonathon D). It will redefine your notions of just how pathetic some people can be

  • Obviously he's just a troll. He hates metal drummers.

  • Jonathan D. You Fail and are a nobody. To come on Seth's page and try to gain popularity from his fan base is truly pathetic. Grow up man, really.

  • impressive Seth.

    Cheers

    Rico

  • Nice, neat, and impressive. I got to work a little harder. Thanks dude

  • Mr seth davis has really explored the next level of human speed... :) 2:02-3:15 was really amazing.. Thats what you get watching Buddy Rich 3am ya !..

  • You fail. Stop spamming a pro with a name.

  • Left hand is awesome

  • man all fingers, wrist, and little forearm, upper arm barely moves.

  • lets see you play your feet like that then Ill be impressed.

  • its absolutely unreal what the human body can do once trained

i hope that one day ill be able to do some of these rolls/fills at least half that speed

  • That is unbelivebale.

  • heres some things that are going to get straight:

    1. THIS GUY IS AMAZING!

    2. You know what i don`t understand WHO CAN DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!?

  • Very good Job Man .. Such Great Control And at The Same time Very Fast, Thanks For Sharing

  • i honestly tihnk the drummer for the black dahlia murder i sthe fastest his INSANE!

  • He's also really talented and original.

  • when he drums his hands look like alien hands lol

  • Beautiful technique and control. Fabulous

  • 3. If you are a drummer (or play any other instrument) you should know that being open to more genres of music will help you no matter what, metal, jazz, reggae, etc.

  • Ok for all you people who think they know everything.. lets get a few things straight.

    1. Metal drummers must use a lot of technique, in order to make decent music they must be solid (which is why metronomes are so essential). Every drummer, no matter what genre of music, uses technique!

    2. This video is REAL this guy is amazing and it all came from practice, not fast forwarding the video.

  • see that little spot on the snare drum where its worn out??that means he has lots of control..you watching any pathetic metal drummers out there?

  • awesome chops!!!

  • excellent my friend!!

  • i herd some p[eople on here say this was fake,it probably was sum simple heavy metal drummer who trhinks hes good but doesnt know shit about drumming,,,no pathetic metal drummer..this is what happens when you are tuaght technique,,not bragging about how good u are cuase u never took lessons!!this is aloso the proper way to hold your hands..thats why metal drummers suck,,they have no technique and hold their hands wrong

  • holy shit

  • did you play with open or closed grip in the first exercise?

  • So I guess he is fake in his clinic clip as well? Those are all fake people edited it...

Idiot. What about when he hosted the wfd? I guess when his dvd is released this summer and has great stuff like this on it filmed with hd cameras it will be fake? This really does get old and it is not even my work.... You should find something more productive to do then come call out a drumming genius like Seth Davis, like the write up to the right says... Some people really do not fuccking get it.

    G

  • So he was fake when he hosted the WFD events in the past? Fake in his clinic clip? Fake on his soon to be released dvd? Idiot. Do your homework before you come call out a pro drumming genius and Awesomely Nice guy like Seth. Like the write up says to the right, some really do not fucking get it.

    Regards,

    G

  • Seth, I'm very interested in obtaining info

on where / how to obtain your upcoming

video containing "The Moller Killer" and

all other pertinent information on developing correct practice routine(including posture), mental state and muscle training / developement. Thanks

    again ! T. Baker

  • hi Seth you are an A++++++ drummer for me insane speed *and* great contol and dinamics

great singles , the best on you tube I think !!!

    thanks Seth !!!!

  • Practice does make perfect... I don't think the title means anything. You're fantastic and comparing to others is pointless. You're adding much flavor to the drumming community. Thanks for sharing.

  • Are playing single strokes at such high speed something that seemed to come naturally to you, or did you have to work very hard to get where you are today?

  • numbbum85 you bring up a great point. Nature vs Nurture. I WAS fast in general with many aspects such as when I used to spar all the time growing up boxing, however.... And this is a big however.... To play a single stroke roll and or all the rudimental combinations you see in this video, it takes TECHNIQUE and the CORRECT practice routine. Those are the two keys to achieving it, most do not have a consistent routine ...

  • I have worked EXTREMELY HARD to get where I am today, absolutely no question about that. I will share two points from the dvd that are the most important aspects of training that have never been addressed and or explained in any drum instructional video. Drumming Hypnosis/Meditation is the first and the second is exercises "cancelling out one another." It is not that you have great days and other days you suck, that is a common "myth" that is false. When you train muscles and ligaments*...

  • To a high degree you are building what is called "muscle memory.." However, drumming is not the same as working out where you want to always be shocking your muscles to not plateau. If you confuse your muscles with playing different rudiments and or grips endlessly you will do exactly that. Confuse them. You have to know how to practice and how to rest, hydrate, all of it. You will never be consistent with speed without focus. Why do you think Death Metal drummers...

  • say that it takes years of playing DEATH METAL MUSIC and not just practicing all kinds of different techniques that lead no where. Exactly. But it is like I said, those two points are two of the most powerful training tools you will learn and that makes up a great part of the Moeller Killer. Drumming Hypnosis/Visualization/Meditation/Correct Technique/Effective Practice Routines for Muscle Memory. =)

  • "at one time fastest drummer" you mean theres actually someone who can single stroke faster than that? who?

  • I never claimed to be the best and or the fastest bro, I really do not like that title thrown at me. However I do strongly feel that the upcoming dvd will put a mark in the history of drumming when it comes to hand technique and a 12 week program dedicated soley to the single stroke roll, more importantly teaching how to move it around the drumset.

    Seth Davis :-)

  • wassup its ya boy Lil Saint

  • "he cant give it all away" of course he left out the most important secret: a daily dose of hummingbird necter. im just trying to be funny.

  • I wish there was some "secret necter" I could just take and go with it! lol Great comment man... It was funny.. ha ha ;-)

    Seth Davis

  • speed only make a fraction of good drumming. a good drummer can do ay types of drumming including jazz not just speed.

  • my god you´re smart!!

  • This is my favorite youtube video to date.

I might be sick in a similat manner !

    WAY DIG

  • Dude, my mouth dropped when I saw this video! Worlds fastest drummer title! Sweet man... I believe it without a doubt! Congrats to you on your amazing skills. I'm still working on keeping a tempo lol so I have a little ways to go until I'm up to your level ;) Later man ~Chris

  • Thanks so much Chris! Just worry about being solid, possessing great timing, and playing CLEAN and all the rest will fall into place brother!

    Seth Davis

  • Hello to all youtubers and drummers!

First off I would like to say that I do not upload nor name these titles, I am like a 3 year old with computers! I have had the titles changed and also I wanted to address the Buddy vs Seth video that was posted. I am honored to even be thought of in the same sentence as Buddy Rich but I did not not give approval nor support that post and it is going to be removed, I will see to that. The dvd is being filmed in 11 days! Be looking for it!

    Seth Davis

  • Regardless of how good he is, a little modesty goes a long way - In that people won't think you're up yourself because you don't call yourself the world's fastest drummer in the title of every video. Even if he is.

  • This video still owns

  • Incredible Polyrhythmist/Clinician umm.. Fuckin A

"World's Fastest Drummer - Seth Davis - Insane Drum Solo"

So what more would one have to prove? Nothing.

Great Musician/Great Clinician & Teacher/Author of the Moeller Killer being released worldwide this summer/unbelievable Soloist with an infinite imagination. And the biggest aspect of being a drummer... Seth possess's unbelieveable concrete timing.

    Done.

    Gary

  • I do not know what you are hearing as well. 1. Seth hit's a rim "one" time in the whole video. 2. Seth is playing everything from inverted para-diddles, flams, para-diddle diddles, and many other rudimental stickings that are his own... Obviously. 3. Seth is the epitome of POWER & speed. Seth has so much more to him than this as well, try this on for size.

Incredible composer and musician? umm fuckin A. "World's Fastest Drummer - Seth Davis - Progressive Rock Drumming"

  • With all that said, Seth is still, no doubt, one of the finest drum technicians in the world today. His singles and doubles and the way he "alternatingly" navegate from one to another and his sense of groove is really outstanding, but hes no Buddy Rich, just wanted to rest it asured. Davis deserves almost all the credits hes getting though. Incredible technician.

  • The strokes although fast were quite weak, too close to the surface and you could hear him hitting the rim of the drums very often. Third, Buddy didn't just play single strokes. he played diddles, didledidles, flams and everything else at blazing speed. Try to dynamically mix all those rudiments and make them clean and interesting like Buddy did... I doubt it. I know it due to my own experiences trying to "play like Buddy Rich" (at least on the snare).

  • Not really sure where you're hearing the weak strokes. You should listen to the first Abigail's Ghost record "Selling Insincerity" to really hear Davis' single strokes. It's certainly not an album full of masturbatory drum playing, but you can certainly hear the power in his playing even at the fastest speeds.

  • First of all, I'd like to express my opinion on this video and some comparisons about Davis and Buddy Rich. First of all, this video suffers from a terrible frame rate. Watch it in a better frame-rated version (such as the one at one of his clinics) and things suddenly become less impressive. Second, Seth's strokes are nowhere as powerful as Buddy's. This was very clear to me when he played that fast snare/floor tom transition a la Buddy Rich.

  • dude ur fucking mad i will ask u do a drum roll if ur arm fell of

  • 6,25 omg

  • hi MAN!! AWSOME SPEED! I´m a drummer too...

i personally hope to play more often !! best regards!

  • Whats going on!?!?!?!

  • that was fast!

  • Sick!

  • Wow that was pretty awesome.
